Sometimes I forget that you can use last.fm that way.

PROBABLY BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS MUFFLED NOW *SOB*

Sara R-C, Thursday, 27 March 2008 01:47 (eighteen years ago)

Rubyredd, Thursday, 27 March 2008 01:48 (eighteen years ago)

The whole "play someone else's radio station" is pretty cool. Can you do that at least?

trying to write research paper gonna be up til 4 bump!

tehresa, Thursday, 27 March 2008 04:51 (eighteen years ago)

I have been reading my pharmacology text book and playing Scrabulous online.

tehresa, good luck w/ yr paper. What is it about?

I'm about to go do some DIMENSIONAL ANALYSIS FOR MEDS.

Will try out muxtape tomorrow maybe...?

Sara R-C, Thursday, 27 March 2008 05:00 (eighteen years ago)

i write about declining role of orchestras in broadway musicals & related stuff (union strikes, house minimums, issues in collective bargaining agreements, producers' point of view ('we'd rather not pay for them!' actually there is more to it but whatever), virtual orchestras, and some history of the development of musicals from broadway's 'golden age' to today). sort of. this is a rough draft but i really haven't had time to do all the research i want to so i'm a bit screwed. the kicker is that i don't really like broadway, but i fear for musician jobs.

dimensional analysis sounds more fun!

tehresa, Thursday, 27 March 2008 05:14 (eighteen years ago)

it isn't.

El Tomboto, Thursday, 27 March 2008 05:18 (eighteen years ago)

i bet it is!

tehresa, Thursday, 27 March 2008 05:20 (eighteen years ago)

ok if you're using google calculator to do it, yeah, it is more fun. otherwise it's totally gross.

I don't know, the book is insanely clear and I like doing math problems that I can actually come up with the right answer for. I kinda like it, although trying to make it cool by referring to it as DA4Meds online with friends may have been taking it too far.

tehresa, your paper sounds intimidating to me right now.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 27 March 2008 05:25 (eighteen years ago)

http://www.google.com/intl/en/help/features.html#calculator

when I showed my class how to use this to help do the homework assignments my cryptography professor said it was probably the most useful thing any of us would learn in the course

El Tomboto, Thursday, 27 March 2008 05:26 (eighteen years ago)

xpost Luckily I haven't had to calculate crazy stuff like that, Tom. I have been figuring out IV flow rates in drops per minute (gtt/min). The numbers are MUCH easier to work with.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 27 March 2008 05:27 (eighteen years ago)

Tombot, awesome link! THX DUDE!!!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 27 March 2008 05:28 (eighteen years ago)

see yeah if paper had formula and i could just make answers i would be happy.

it is intimidating me now, too!

tombot has u ever used NOTION or SINFONIA or any of these laptop orchestra things?

tehresa, Thursday, 27 March 2008 05:29 (eighteen years ago)

tehresa... you will be fiiiiine. The paper will be great! And I would totally sing you a Broadway song if you were here. (Probably good for you that you are not!)

Sara R-C, Thursday, 27 March 2008 05:31 (eighteen years ago)

tehresa no I has not

El Tomboto, Thursday, 27 March 2008 05:32 (eighteen years ago)

damn i want a firsthand opinion on that stuff!

aw thanks, sara, i would love you to sing all this songs (just not Rose's Turn ok???).

tehresa, Thursday, 27 March 2008 05:35 (eighteen years ago)

I almost never sing in public. I had a lot of wine on New Year's Eve and sang "Past the Point of No Return" with a guy friend I've known since I was in 9th grade who is also my friend's husband. It was fun except for the part where my brain was telling me I should NOT being singing about SEX with CURT OMGGGG

I don't even know Rose's Turn, so you are safe on that account at least!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 27 March 2008 05:39 (eighteen years ago)

^_^

tehresa, Thursday, 27 March 2008 05:43 (eighteen years ago)

Okay, I'm going to sleep now - good night all.

Also GO TEHRESA GO YR PAPER WILL BE AWESOME GO!!!!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 27 March 2008 05:57 (eighteen years ago)

tza whenever i hang out with our conductor he bitches about the orchestra getting pushed out. ever since we got a new AD the direction is more and more prerecorded stuff. canned, as they dismissively say. i'd love to read your paper.

jergïns, Thursday, 27 March 2008 05:59 (eighteen years ago)

i can't see straight how do i write this?!#LKJG

ooh you should read this article, jergs: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/03/25/theater/25green.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1

but really the issue btw afm and the league is minimums and why should you have to hire 14 if the show only calls for 11 and i am like why does the show only call for 11? bc people really want to write it for 11 or bc they think that's the only way cheap producers will produce it?

tehresa, Thursday, 27 March 2008 06:06 (eighteen years ago)

is it a bunch of union issues? (that's usually what it is here, like going into overtime, minimum number of players, etc.)

will check the article!

jergïns, Thursday, 27 March 2008 06:22 (eighteen years ago)

afm duh yes union issues i've had a coupla glasses of wine

jergïns, Thursday, 27 March 2008 06:23 (eighteen years ago)
