holding on is a little wispy nothing of a track, like overhearing someone singing to themselves as they walk past. love the album and think it sounds better in that context, I picked a different track

never heard of this but it's very cool, continuing to enjoy this year's bobbins placements a surprising amount

Catching up slowly, the Die Wilde Jagd track is def interesting and reminds me of a krautrock compilation I have. I'll probably listen to it again.

I had high expectations for a song called "Donnie Darko" but, based on the first half of it, it sounded exactly like what I imagine most of the tracks I skip sound like.

There was some slight badmouths at the Tirzah track so I deleted the upcoming images and ulysses cant find them.

Cleo is fucking awesome, the 2nd of my votes to place. Such simple and evocative techno, like Dozzy does best.

Tirzah is the best! All hail! She hangs out with Micachu!

I've liked Dozzy projects before, but picking this as one of the best tracks of the year is entirely mystifying to me. At least the autechre had trolling value. Next year I'm nominating my cat's purrs and my white noise machine

Over a spiky groove that builds like an assembly line, Marie Davidson guides you through the new mentality. It’s no longer enough to work to the bone; you have to love it, too. It doesn’t take long before she flips that aspiration into a taunt (“Well then you’re not a winner yet!”) and the colloquial notion of “work” into a menacing order. By the end, she’s just parroting the same platitudes (“You’ve got to work for yourself!”), the empty promises we’re told by others and ourselves to get by, knowing that in this system one cannot be a winner without crushing someone underneath. Perhaps that’s too bleak a reading. Perhaps we’re just in a funk, and all we need is to keep organizing and pushing and upending every system that got us here.
