Heard a few tracks from her new album, sounds great but I haven't heard anything else.

reminds me a little of catscars but lusher

Her newest album isn't on her Bandcamp or Soundcloud for some reason. Maybe it's not out yet but it's odd that there's no mention of it those places.

"Adieux Au Dancefloor" is great. Reminds me of a more accessible Nina Kraviz.

the essaie pas album might as well have been custom tailored for me to love

is this a new one? the last one had some potent horror-techno vibes. perfect for transit

kolakube (Ross), Friday, 16 March 2018 15:17 (seven months ago) Permalink

yeah their new one came out today - it's called 'New Path'

pitchfork gave it a good review today

Oh nice, didn't realise there was a new one coming. She's so awesome.

emil.y, Friday, 16 March 2018 15:33 (seven months ago) Permalink

Haven't really spent much time with Essaie Pas tbh, but the MD solo records I've heard are great.

Got reviewed in the Guardian today as well

I love both this and solo even if there is a nagging suspicion that this is just what people who listened to Enigma graduate to once they become cooler

aloha darkness my old friend (katherine), Friday, 16 March 2018 16:21 (seven months ago) Permalink

enigma is cool tbh

this EP rules, one of my favs so far this year

tinnitus the night (Ross), Friday, 16 March 2018 16:52 (seven months ago) Permalink

Not really feeling New Path on first listen tbh, compared to Adieux Au Dancefloor it kind of waters down Marie’s personality without adding very much extra. Substance M is cool though, though it’s p much straightforward techno

Un Autre Voyage >>>>>> Adieux Au Dancefloor imo

Wasn’t much of a fan of the Essaie Pas record but this new solo album is glorious

Herb Achelors (NickB), Friday, 5 October 2018 19:09 (two weeks ago) Permalink

Agreed on both counts. The aggressively tongue-in-cheek vibe works really well for her.

last one def. had that kraviz vibe vocally, but davidson is less detached and as you say LLC tongue in cheek

Oh whoops- im on Zing and hadn’t even checked which song was linked to. Assumed it was ‘Work’ which i love love love.

"aggressively tongue-in-cheek" is exactly why this works, the music is really good but it's so arrestingly playful too, real "Stock Exchange" vibes

boxedjoy, Monday, 8 October 2018 21:41 (one week ago) Permalink

one of the best things this year for me - her earlier stuff totally passed me by so had no expectations and got something like DAF meets ballroom house

saw her in Krakow a few days ago also - good, more techno-leaning, but the room felt too busy to dance which was a downer
