Thread for coordinating the order and timing of ILM ballot polls

seems like interest in the artist-based threads is on the wane (or maybe we haven't done one for a while, but i haven't noticed any on sna in a couple months). would anyone be opposed to bumping these up the list? i'm pretty eager to hear these, particularly disco & italo

As JF mentioned, we took a hiatus while best-of-year polling took place. We did it last year and it seemed to work well -- people seemed to come back to the artist polls in Feb. with more energy, so it will probably be an annual thing. Ten months on, two months off, and EOY voters can really focus their listening.

Tipsy mentioned a large ballot for Dylan, and it got me thinking a little more about the Miles ballot. It will be 30 spots, and the points will range from 50 for 1st place down to probably five points for 30th. Voters who hate cutting will get those 10 extra spots, but the value of those bottom spots will be a little diminished compared to a 20-song ballot.

Miles should just be one long result over many days

Then have another rundown thread with some other posters; basically the same results, but the comments are totally different.

mark e said something on the poll thread actually that he didn't realise the poll wasnt just Heavy Rock but funk, punk,prog,krautrock,arty etc. And when he looked at the nominations he found tons of albums he liked. Bowie,Zep, Miles, Funkadelic and well lots of popular things mixed in with lesser known stuff. And if you dont wanna rank stuff pick an unweighted option. It doesnt have to be all heavy rock votes. Doesnt have to be any.Just pick a min of 20 (max of 100) albums from the nominations you like if you fancy voting. Even if you dont vote i hope you all enjoy the results thread.
