some time ago there was a discussion about all of the controversies surrounding the concept of IQ. somebody posted a few links to a lengthy statistical critique of the whole concept of "g" or general intelligence.

i can't for the life of me remember what the discussion was tho. if you remember, or if you have those links handy, please post!!!!

both good ideas but no. this was a v basic designed site (and not very readable, 8 pt font etc) and pretty math-y in spots

i need a thing there was a whole thread discussing: an american project to design a set of hazard markers for an ultra-long-term nuclear waste dump, one that specifically would be recognisable in the event of a total societal collapse which left no common languages or symbolic assumptions still standing, so that if some future agrarian plains-dwelling american tribe came across it they'd know not to exhume the stuff because they'd get sick and die.
