Poor Margo.

Bill/Aleida was special, the rest was fine

Wayne shoutout though!

they teased us with class warfare in space and a coup on earth, and we got more black market capitalism and a different type of coup succeeding
― ɥɯ ︵ (°□°) (mh), Thursday, 23 November 2023 01:55 (five months ago) link
this season is kind of a yawn like theres ok moments, the margo stuff is ok & yeah bill & aleida was coolbut also we are so far from Gordo now its like what are we even doing anymore
― werewolves of laudanum (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 23 November 2023 06:27 (five months ago) link
I think the series owes more to Halt and Catch Fire more than any other recent tv show, but having the core cast evolve and age out/die definitely pushes the focal point more to the altered history and politicsThe hvac guy has an interesting plot arc but it’s underserved by having him be a pretty stock character so far. Seems like that whole thing might have been a setup to bring our NK friend back into the mix
― ɥɯ ︵ (°□°) (mh), Thursday, 23 November 2023 15:23 (five months ago) link
Some silliness with the Kelli & Aleida plot this week. And some seriousness with the Margo plot. Hopefully that’s sufficiently vague.
― that's not my post, Saturday, 25 November 2023 06:00 (five months ago) link
Solid episode, finally enjoying the Margo storyline. I'm guessing that something Miles saw on his excursion - the shiny rocks, the crevasse, something - will turn out to be a crucial plot point later on, otherwise what was it for.

Gonna be like magic life-housing space rocks that no one noticed before.
I don't really care about that dude, and when they gave the cosmonaut a sad farewell this ep I thought, you know, I didn't care about her, either. They're juggling a lot of different overlapping storylines this seasons.
― Josh in Chicago, Saturday, 2 December 2023 17:03 (four months ago) link
Not clear if Ed has anything to do. Dani should send him home.
― that's not my post, Sunday, 3 December 2023 04:48 (four months ago) link
Miles is too goddamn stupid to live, Ed is a mess, honestly aside from Margo what are we even doing here ugh
― werewolves of laudanum (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 5 December 2023 05:14 (four months ago) link
Every time I think Miles is gonna be a new hero for the show he just fucks shit up. He... how did he even get hired. Come to that how on earth is that speakeasy going without being noticed by the higher ups, does everyone just keep shtumm because they all want to be able to get chocolate and undies and foot cream and porn?
― Stoop Crone (Trayce), Tuesday, 5 December 2023 06:08 (four months ago) link
come for the porn, stay for the human trafficking
― werewolves of laudanum (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 5 December 2023 06:16 (four months ago) link
The actor does give off the aura of a porn star expecting to bang the horny prof but it turns out it's just a regular calculus final.
― Philip Nunez, Tuesday, 5 December 2023 15:15 (four months ago) link
VG OTM, we got rid of the Stevens yahoos that ruined S3 but so far only the Margo plot line is proving to be compelling
― that's not my post, Tuesday, 5 December 2023 15:38 (four months ago) link
Show has found a groove, looking forward to Aleida in Russia. Didn't even hate the return of a Stevens yahoo.
― TWELVE Michelob stars?!? (seandalai), Saturday, 9 December 2023 00:09 (four months ago) link
opening scene was very Expanse (but with not-as-good CGI somehow?)
― TWELVE Michelob stars?!? (seandalai), Saturday, 9 December 2023 01:00 (four months ago) link
Better episode for sure

Joel's acting is so one-note and glacial at the moment, his fucking John Wayne drawl in this latest Ep is putting my teeth on edge
― MaresNest, Saturday, 9 December 2023 14:14 (four months ago) link
It’ll be interesting to see how the Russians deal with the elephant in the room. Are they going to hide Margo, only for it to become obvious that it’s her when some calculations or drawings were her work, or is she going to be sitting at a conference room table?
― ɥɯ ︵ (°□°) (mh), Saturday, 9 December 2023 16:57 (four months ago) link
my guess is they will proudly display Margo - she's a trophy for Irina & the soviet state & it will throw Aleida off her game
― that's not my post, Saturday, 9 December 2023 19:00 (four months ago) link
it sure as hell would

she definitely does, and it's a big part of her PTSD.

This show seems to be getting maybe a little ridiculous, probably not intentionally, but I think we're on board for it.
― Josh in Chicago, Saturday, 23 December 2023 02:45 (four months ago) link
Indeed so many ridiculous things going on this season. But, shrug, it’s still an enjoyable show
― that's not my post, Saturday, 23 December 2023 05:04 (four months ago) link
Episode 2 is ridiculously unsubtle but I appreciated the ‘91 coup Swan Lake airing.

First few episodes of this season were kinda meh but I like the way it’s ramping back up now. am here for the ridiculousness

guessing Dev's endgame is to be King of Mars in a Silicon Valley Techno-Utopianism style (hence the scene with Danielle saying "this is my base and I'm in charge") but not sure how he gets there

With the guys all ready to unionize but then finding out theyre not even using Mars for the asteroid mining anymore, I'm waiting for the Mars riots, which ties in nicely with Babylon 5's history lol.

I’ve been binging this show over the last few weeks and have finally caught up to the latest episode. Fascinating to watch Ed evolve from heroic rogue to spiteful old man. Character traits that have been there all along have turned him into an absolutely loathsome crank.

I was trying in vain to figure out where Sergei’s scenes were supposed to take place. The license plates, road signs, and newspaper were all sort of correct but didn’t line up to a coherent answer. We’ll call it Anytown, Midwest

― The Glittering Worldbuilders (James Redd and the Blecchs), Friday, 29 December 2023 23:14 (three months ago) link
This season doesn't have the lows of various Stevens brothers, but it also feels the most low-stakes of the four seasons so far. What stakes there are feel, more than usual, like they were baked in a writers' room. Even though it's the 2000s and there is a "President Gore" on the periphery of the story, the show has otherwise totally diverged from actual history and now it's basically just a sci-fi show.
― sctttnnnt (pgwp), Saturday, 30 December 2023 00:21 (three months ago) link
slooooow going this week, hope all the setup pays off
― TWELVE Michelob stars?!? (seandalai), Saturday, 30 December 2023 01:20 (three months ago) link
I think the season as a whole is solid and very watchable, though "low-stakes" is accurate (so far?)

Syncing a Cat Power song and it’s not “Rockets” pshhhh
― papal hotwife (milo z), Sunday, 31 December 2023 03:34 (three months ago) link
This season feels like a continual series of bottle episodes with the directors seemingly running out the clock. Perhaps another minute of screen time blown on Sergei deciding what to do at the I-35 onramp?
Was the budget for this episode blown completely on the orbital zoom-in on Korolev Crater?
― Elvis Telecom, Sunday, 31 December 2023 03:43 (three months ago) link
Huge alternative history reveal in the new episode. Danielle says she plans to make her granddaughter watch “all three” Star Trek series, meaning that two spinoffs didn’t get made. Sorry Scott Bakula, I have to assume you’ve been erased.
