That made me wince, and I like skronky stuff at times.

New Ashley Paul doubles down on the best bits (wobbly drunk clarinet) of 2020's Ray; is tremulous and gorgeous and miraculously avoids overt preciousness:

Been meaning to check out that New Monuments record. Also thanks for the tip about new Ashley Paul, technopolis.
Currently listening to Lila Bazooka - Arashiyama, which I think people here might enjoy.https://ayler-records.bandcamp.com/album/arashiyama

Ambient/EA guitar stuff. I like it more than other Oppedisano I've heard, maybe bc he leans more into the lyrical lead guitar:https://marcooppedisano.bandcamp.com/album/evening-sky

68yo raspy French contralto chanteuse singing in English, French and Italian over improvised dissonant jazz/rock music that at times recalls the Birthday Party, at other times Van der Graaf Generator.

I don't know if I really get this thread's remit, but the new Rachika Nayar is impressive. I like it a lot more than her previous album. The way it bursts into ravey technicolor at times never fails to delight (though it might be alienating if all you want is Grouper-y banks of melancholic guitar fog), and in general this sounds like a big step up in ambition and achievement to me

yeh really enjoying it

it's kinda just 'post-rock except cool' but i like that. definitely more ambitious than her previous work

I did get the urge to listen to Seefeel after that final remix track, so you're onto something there. But does that imply post-rock isn't already cool? :(

Satisying noise/drone on solo cello with effects. Clears up about halfway through and some melodic themes emerge. https://markmolnar.bandcamp.com/album/mark-molnar-saturns-son

Some Bandcamp stuff
- New two-song single from ---__--___, 'Divine Berth' If you liked last year's 'The Heart Pumps Kool-Aid,' this is the same sort of thing— "new" classical vibes with auto-tuned vocals, very unsettling and great. https://sethgraham.bandcamp.com/album/divine-berth
- A record from Baum Sae, 'Communication'from the release page: "Baum Sae is a collaborative project between drummer Soojin Suh, and traditional vocalist Borim Kim combined with Gina Hwang on Geomungo, a traditional Korean plucked instrument. Together they formed a new project "Baum Sae" (translation: Night Birds) in 2020, combining traditional Korean musical elements with group improvisations and original compositions." https://soojinsuh.bandcamp.com/album/communication
- lilien rosarian, 'every flower in my garden'tape manipulation, radio interference, bells, very beautiful hazy music with some occasional moments of "whoa" mindfuck https://lilienrosarian.bandcamp.com/album/every-flower-in-my-garden
- Nick Storring, 'Music from Wéi'Solo piano, very beautiful and unexpectedly strange— goes from sounding like soundtrack music to sounding like Morton Feldman. Great. https://nickstorring.bandcamp.com/album/music-from-w-i
Maybe a few others, that's all I have time for right now.

Ah, yeah, I liked the lilien rosarian. Recalled Fennesz, which is v welcome for me. I revisited Storring's My Magic Dreams Have Lost Their Spell recently, which was pleasant. This one seems like it will be quite different.

That record is shaping up to be real nice.
Lol I never know where anything goes. I want to post about the new Arp album New Pleasures, but it may be too beat-driven for this thread, not dancey enough for the re-deconstructed thread, and not internety enough for the RYM twenty-somethings thread. The whole album is full of beautiful slick City Pop-inspired synth goodness.
