"Did anyone see what our ratfucker-in-chief just did?" one character asks early in the screenplay for The Hunt, a Universal Pictures thriller set to open Sept. 27. Another responds: "At least The Hunt's coming up. Nothing better than going out to the Manor and slaughtering a dozen deplorables."

it's very hard for me to believe that someone who spent his life cultivating powerful connections and getting away with crimes would think, even at this point, that his situation was hopeless and there was no way to wriggle out of serious consequences.

I don’t want to go too far out on a limb, but it’s also possible that the pedophile transhumanist who wanted to cryogenically freeze his penis and set up an ‘insemination ranch’ might have been a little... not right in the head.

Trump's desire to see the clintons hang is so strong he keeps shining a light on a case in which he is a fixture. kind of amazing

Speaking as a person who has been on the receiving end of MANY eyerolls at social functions when mentioning conspiracy theories of any kind, it’s a pretty wild goddamn time to be alive.

2015

In a Public Mind poll from Fairleigh Dickinson University released Wednesday, more than half of Republicans — 51 percent — and half of those who watch Fox News — 52 percent — say that they believe it to be “definitely true” or “probably true” that American forces found an active weapons of mass destruction program in Iraq.

My thoughts exactly when I saw that tweet. I do not--not even close--have a conspiracy mindset. But it is very difficult not to at least lean in that direction in the immediate aftermath of this. Or at least, not that there's necessarily a conspiracy, but that it wasn't suicide. It's just too puzzling and too perfect on three different fronts: that he managed to do it, that it happened just before trial, and that it's the day after all those other names surfaced. Trump's tweet would seem to be exactly the kind of clumsy and clueless and panicked preemptive distraction I would expect of him.

WMDs is a good example but necessarily took longer to be "widely disbelieved" bc of the lack of social media. and to Sanpaku's point, many still believe WMDs were found. if anything, Epstein's death has united people across partisan lines more than anything else in the modern era.

we know the FBI tried to get MLK to kill himself, we know about Iran-Contra, we know about WMDs, we know about COINTELPRO, the MOVE bombing - why is it necessarily "tin foil" to question official stories?

resoundingly otm. Similarly re:suicide watch stuff, could it be possible that our nations prison officials are not 100% on the ball, and are particularly lazy/lax/hands-off when it comes to wealthy celebrity inmates? Perish the thought, no it must be a fantastical baroque assassination plot out of an Alex Cross novel.
