because the classic thing to say when you hear that ice cream is being served is 'yeah, i'd like to suck on that!'

Because that doesn't make any sense. You'd say, "Yeah, I'd like to suck on some of that!"

horribly formed jokes are usually p cute tho

because ice cream is usually referred to as 'ice'

I feel like it'd be impossible not to be able to tell contextually or from tone of voice whether to expect "Coco and Ice-T" or "cocoa and iced tea."

Not to mention that cocoa and iced tea would be a really strange thing to serve together. I mean who would serve just cocoa and iced tea and surely if there were other beverages there then you'd just say "refreshments" or something. Curious.
