i used to work with a guy who was on the CPD raid that killed fred hampton. it pretty much was a murder. i ride past the site of that everyday on the bus going to and coming home from the el for work.

no because it was never put before the council. the alderman (or whatever official it was) realized what a political hot potato it was after it was announced there were plans to rename that stretch of monroe after fred hampton and then withdrew her support of it.
