no one on the lakers seemed like they cared.

anthony davis, 28 points on 8/24, -20
lebron 23 points on 9/20, -3

if the lakers want to live with trent and melo shooting threes while their two stars put up shitty lines they're at risk of losing this series

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 19 August 2020 03:58 (five years ago)

With Steph out of action until next season, Dame is officially the most magical player in the nba for now.

the unappreciated charisma of cows (Aimless), Wednesday, 19 August 2020 03:58 (five years ago)

AD worked hard in the paint missed a lot of shots and put backs he usually makes

(•̪●) (carne asada), Wednesday, 19 August 2020 03:59 (five years ago)

He had everyone in foul trouble

(•̪●) (carne asada), Wednesday, 19 August 2020 04:00 (five years ago)

charles just said this was the fewest amount of points scored by the blazers in a win this season. not a great advertisement for the lakers worst in the bubble offense

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 19 August 2020 04:11 (five years ago)

chuck referring to the blazers as "we" is... okay charles

Clay, Wednesday, 19 August 2020 04:13 (five years ago)

charles is really confident that the blazers are going to beat the lakers....

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 19 August 2020 04:17 (five years ago)

idk what changed about dame but one thing i'll give him is as psycho good as he's been in recent years he nearly always collapsed under playoff defenses. not sure he really does that anymore

Clay, Wednesday, 19 August 2020 04:19 (five years ago)

he has discovered The Mindset

Clay, Wednesday, 19 August 2020 04:19 (five years ago)

Heard him talking on JJ Reddick's podcast about how he's improved the mental aspects of his game, how the game has slowed down for him, learning team's sets and tendencies etc. He's def in that physical prime yet savvy veteran sweet spot.

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Wednesday, 19 August 2020 04:27 (five years ago)

i'm a lot more comfortable w/ Trent and Melo shooting threes than basically anyone on the Lakers not named LBJ/AD ever touching the ball.

Lakers roster is hot garbage and they may not lose this series, but they deserve to.

alpine static, Wednesday, 19 August 2020 11:08 (five years ago)

also criticizing Trent for his D on LeBron is weird? he got down low, worked hard and tried to stay in front of the greatest basketball body ever, idk what more anyone wants.

the Blazers have no one to deal w/ LeBron, obviously. Trent and Melo just have to hang on.

also, Whiteside was good tonight but they need Zack back to win this.

Trevor Ariza would help too!

alpine static, Wednesday, 19 August 2020 11:11 (five years ago)

though i suppose Avery Bradley would help the Lakers, so strike that about Ariza. no whining!

alpine static, Wednesday, 19 August 2020 11:17 (five years ago)

Sounds like Will Barton won’t be back this year :/

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 19 August 2020 12:42 (five years ago)

i don't think anyone was criticizing trent btw, he was doing his best and he's competent but like physically he's not in the league of guys who do an ok job against lebron.

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 19 August 2020 13:16 (five years ago)

LeBron used a lot of wily tricks on him

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 19 August 2020 13:18 (five years ago)

The NBA 3-Point line is 23.75 feet from the basket.

According to the NBA's player tracking system, Damian Lillard's last 2 3-pointers last night were 31.4 feet and 34.0 feet from the basket. pic.twitter.com/k0OeK2AXkA

not sure how much space there is between steph and dame as shooters

lag∞n, Wednesday, 19 August 2020 13:41 (five years ago)

remember a couple years ago when he was always bad in the playoffs lol

^^ it’s not his fault but he has no chance on the lebron, it’s not a tenable match up for the series

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 19 August 2020 13:56 (five years ago)

The real question for the Bucks is this: are the below-average percentage shooters they freely allowed to fire from downtown all season still below-average percentage shooters in this open gym setting?

— Mike Prada (@MikePradaNBA) August 18, 2020

interesting point i hadn’t considered

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 19 August 2020 15:43 (five years ago)

pretty much nothing we’ve seen in the bubble would suggest it’s a good idea to let the heat shoot a bunch of three pointers, if that ends up being the second round match up

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 19 August 2020 15:44 (five years ago)

How many games in a row has Melo hit a 3 in the last 3 mins of a close game? Five? Six?

— Chris Herring (@Herring_NBA) August 19, 2020

true melo thriving in the pick up game environment of the bubble.... makes you think

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 19 August 2020 15:46 (five years ago)

that is interesting....apparently most guys are loving the shooting background in the gyms down there.

Jacque Vaughn says the Nets have made some "small tweaks" defensively but he doesn't seem too concerned about "VanFleet" or his shooting. Unlike Lillard, Vaughn says that, historically, "VanFleet" hasn't hit those long 3s at a high rate... pic.twitter.com/KNIv7eqO1D

Heez, Wednesday, 19 August 2020 16:43 (five years ago)

we got one 2020 nba offseason draft free agency etc

Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Wednesday, 19 August 2020 17:18 (five years ago)

lot of rumors that theyre gonna push it back in anticipation of a vaccine

won't a vaccine take months to get out there though even after it's approved

Apparently Michael Porter Jr still has drop foot. Perhaps the first nba player to play with it?

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 19 August 2020 18:26 (five years ago)

i think it's basically confirmed that the season is starting in feb or march

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 19 August 2020 18:45 (five years ago)

Will Barton had a good season but these injuries are getting old

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 19 August 2020 18:56 (five years ago)

xp oh i thought you meant delay so they can have audiences again lol

ciderpress, Wednesday, 19 August 2020 19:24 (five years ago)

oh no i think the delay is definitely so that they can get fans in arenas

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 19 August 2020 19:29 (five years ago)

Jordan Clarkson finding his game in Utah was so unexpected for me

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 19 August 2020 20:44 (five years ago)

the end of the nets game was a travesty

Spottie, Wednesday, 19 August 2020 21:06 (five years ago)

Bit of a swipe block from Gobert there....

Jordan Clarkson finding his game in Utah was so unexpected for me

it’s true. they would be fucked without him

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 19 August 2020 21:13 (five years ago)

always liked the clarkson move

i think the bojan and clarkson pieces were nice rotation adds that moved the needle for them a bit. despite his awful game last night d mitch is has taken a small jump as well.

omg what did you type to find this gif? (Spottie) wrote this on thread 2019-20 NBA Regular Degular Season thread on board I Love Hoops on Jan 15, 2020

the clarkson trade is playing out better than the conley trade for the jazz.

championship winning vibration (Spottie) wrote this on thread 2019-20 NBA Regular Degular Season thread on board I Love Hoops on Jan 3, 2020

a good trade for the jazz i think. they need anyone that can even pretend to score and clarkson can do that. if he can hover at league avg from 3 on 5-6 attempts that will help the jazz a ton.
