for you guys who have been smart enough to stay out of the p2K thread, it's devolved into a mix of fantasy football, fan fiction and oscar night with people pulling out excel spreadsheets to figure out what the top 20 is because they can't wait 12 hours

i almost feel like i never want to see those album titles again and i hope when the decade ends people stop chin-stroking and theorizing and disassembling and reassembling this same group in new and exciting orders.

trying to compile the pitchfork top 25 yourself because you can't wait for Friday is more depressing than that show about hoarders

sleighdog mcdonald (unregistered), Tuesday, 29 September 2009 15:27 (sixteen years ago)

that list does make it look like this decade sucked

steamed hams (harbl), Tuesday, 29 September 2009 15:29 (sixteen years ago)

i mean sure there was good music, every decade's got good music and there's probably more of it around these days but i get tired of people who get paid to write about music for a living seemingly being completely oblivious or uncaring about stuff that doesn't land on their desk.

the '00s sucked mostly for non-music reasons actually...

omar little, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 15:30 (sixteen years ago)

I'd wager 20% of people who write for pithfork "write about music for a living" but please continue to be a crank about a list you haven;t seen yet
