My ongoing nickname is "mash" which I've come to terms with I guess.

wilter, Friday, 11 April 2008 08:09 (eighteen years ago)

Hey Sara, when you're up let me know if you got my webmail - as I was typing it (it was quite long!) I was wondering if I should have saved it somewhere, but of course I didn't...

I don't have any real nicknames. Apart from Barry, and Felicity is the only person who's used that in living memory. Oh, and the pinefox calls me the kaiser.

Mark C, Friday, 11 April 2008 09:28 (eighteen years ago)

i just got home and i scared my roommate who was getting up to go to work. he thought i was a burglar coming in!

tehresa, Friday, 11 April 2008 09:58 (eighteen years ago)

Did he try and attack you? I thought there was a burglar last night and as I lay there straining my ears, I realised I'd been woken by my stomach growling.

Mark C, Friday, 11 April 2008 10:00 (eighteen years ago)

no he was just in the kitchen by our door and was a bit rattled when he heard sounds at the door before i unlocked and came in.

tehresa, Friday, 11 April 2008 10:01 (eighteen years ago)

On Sunday I am going to a drag queen's cinema club to see Grey Gardens.

suzy, Friday, 11 April 2008 11:14 (eighteen years ago)

the aussie way of nicknaming ppl seems to be to add 'zza' or 'zzy' to an abbreviation of the person's name. hence, the italian-aussies i work with call me 'juzzy' and have always done so.

'rubes' is fine by me :)

Rubyredd, Friday, 11 April 2008 12:43 (eighteen years ago)

rube
–noun Informal.
an unsophisticated person from a rural area; hick.

Upt0eleven, Friday, 11 April 2008 12:54 (eighteen years ago)

Rubyredd, Friday, 11 April 2008 13:03 (eighteen years ago)

but that is probably a fairly accurate description

Rubyredd, Friday, 11 April 2008 13:03 (eighteen years ago)

umm... i meant 'lol' in a nice way.

Upt0eleven, Friday, 11 April 2008 13:10 (eighteen years ago)

btw, Mark C - I still have no email from you, BUT I also have no email from anyone since 3:54 a.m. last night, which means once AGAIN it is not functioning properly. SO AGGRAVATED BY THAT

Sara R-C, Friday, 11 April 2008 16:22 (eighteen years ago)

dear tom,

i went through three cell phones before i ended up with the samsung 737, which you suggested upthread. it is head and shoulders above any of the others. i should have listened to you at first.

my apologies,

r.

remy bean, Friday, 11 April 2008 16:23 (eighteen years ago)

Urgh - Sara, here's the gist of what I said. go to http://www.google.com/talk and download the software. Open it, sign in with your regular gmail details - it's totally straightforward - go to the "Add+" button in the bottom left, and add me - c4s4r0✧✧✧@gm✧✧✧.c✧✧ (change the numbers to letters!) and if I'm there, say hi (and I am there right now) :)

Mark C, Friday, 11 April 2008 16:29 (eighteen years ago)

lol

c4s4r0tt0 is my address (substituting letters for the numbers), and gmail's com suffix is my provider.

Mark C, Friday, 11 April 2008 16:30 (eighteen years ago)

Is there an ITR wdyll thread?

Mark C, Friday, 11 April 2008 16:30 (eighteen years ago)

Man I have just over half a bottle of a lovely Primitivo at home, mlb.tv premium, friday night TV and an empty house. I love weekends. One hour till hometime...

Mark C, Friday, 11 April 2008 16:32 (eighteen years ago)

Is there an ITR wdyll thread?

remy bean, Friday, 11 April 2008 16:41 (eighteen years ago)

thx Mark - I will get over to it as soon as I can. I need to eat some lunch and then someone is coming by this afternoon.

I am totally envying your anticipated relaxing weekend. I have about 500 pages of reading to do, class all day Sunday and class again Monday night and a test out on IV piggybacks to prepare for on Thursday night.

If someone could reminde me why I wanted to do this, I would appreciate hearing about it.

Sara R-C, Friday, 11 April 2008 16:41 (eighteen years ago)

Also ITR WDYLL thread would be totally awesome; potentially hilarious.

Sara R-C, Friday, 11 April 2008 16:43 (eighteen years ago)

(I have a new picture of a mannequin that looks Just Like Dan. Well, in my fevered imagination it does, anyway.)

Sara R-C, Friday, 11 April 2008 16:43 (eighteen years ago)

No worries Sara - if you do happen to do it late afternoon your time I'll almost certainly be online. Hope it works! It also functions as a free phone system to anyone else with a microphone, which is handy.

Mark C, Friday, 11 April 2008 16:46 (eighteen years ago)

KILL IT, KILL THE MANNEQUIN

HI DERE, Friday, 11 April 2008 16:47 (eighteen years ago)

I will see if I can find time to try it, Mark!

Dan, I'll have you know that I took good care of that mannequin last night.

Sara R-C, Friday, 11 April 2008 17:14 (eighteen years ago)

i would support a WDYNOTLL thread. maybe.

John Justen, Friday, 11 April 2008 17:17 (eighteen years ago)

John does NOT look like a police officer, a blonde woman, or an elephant.

Sara R-C, Friday, 11 April 2008 17:44 (eighteen years ago)

John pretty much still looks like that, though.

Sara R-C, Friday, 11 April 2008 19:36 (eighteen years ago)

It sounds more exciting than it is.

Which is quite tragic, when you think about it.
