tehresa I think I posted pix of my berad exprmint late last year on WDYLL. I know I did, actually, bcz that was when Pleasant Plains and I realized we looks kinda alike. I probably deleted them from my flickr though so GONE FOREVER.

El Tomboto, Thursday, 10 April 2008 07:09 (eighteen years ago)

What's a door skin?

I'll post my beard experiments too. God knows how much longer I'll grow the stupid thing, especially as it basically just mocks the baldness of the top of my head.

With a bit of time and some trimmin' I could do a pretty good approximation, yeah.

Mark C, Thursday, 10 April 2008 10:28 (eighteen years ago)

home from work bump.

Rubyredd, Thursday, 10 April 2008 12:07 (eighteen years ago)

jesus christ i am booking my ticket to the US tomorrow. spoke to the travel agent today, then just had to wait to confirm domestic flights. july 10! i can't believe this is finally happening. i may have to start a thread so i don't clog up the mollingifibert thread with my endless excited squeals of 'OMG OMG OMG I GO TO AMERICA' for the next three months.

Rubyredd, Thursday, 10 April 2008 12:32 (eighteen years ago)

also a lovely ilxor has offered to introduce me to some friends of his who live in oakland so that i will actually get to know some people.

Rubyredd, Thursday, 10 April 2008 12:33 (eighteen years ago)

That is so great RR! EXCITING

Sara R-C, Thursday, 10 April 2008 14:41 (eighteen years ago)

yay!

did i mention my ticket to hawaii was booked earlier this week? i am also on countdown to july!

tehresa, Thursday, 10 April 2008 15:03 (eighteen years ago)

Damn all you American travelers. Now that I'm not going to Chicago in the autumn I really need to find my fix elsewhere. I have a feeling I may have already moaned about this on this thread.

But I am going to Paris in July! On a bicycle!

Mark C, Thursday, 10 April 2008 15:25 (eighteen years ago)

oh that sounds really fun!

tehresa, Thursday, 10 April 2008 15:36 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah I hope so - I am slightly concerned that the of two guys I am going with, one is much stronger than me and the other has a much stronger sense of achieving TO THE MAX than me. It will be pretty miserable if I'm pedaling desperately to stay with them as they zoom ahead, especially since there's 190 miles to cover (in 3 days).

On the plus side, it'll be summer, in France, with numerous bar and cheese stops. Nom.

Mark C, Thursday, 10 April 2008 15:53 (eighteen years ago)

Wow, I am envying everyone's travel plans!

I am going to Michigan this summer (wheeee?!) and we'll be at Disney World over Thanksgiving. But whoa, Paris and Hawaii sound so much cooler! And honestly, I want to go back to California a lot, too. ENVYING YOU ALL NOW

Sara R-C, Thursday, 10 April 2008 16:15 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah but Paris is like 2 hours on the train for us normally so it barely feels special ;)

Mark C, Thursday, 10 April 2008 16:20 (eighteen years ago)

Mark C, you have saddened my morning with horrible jealousy. ;_;

Sara R-C, Thursday, 10 April 2008 16:34 (eighteen years ago)

c'mon sara, you're only like 45 minutes from farmington, we all have our blessings

John Justen, Thursday, 10 April 2008 16:41 (eighteen years ago)

Aww Sara, the thought of saddening you makes me feel like I just had to put an injured sparrow out of its misery :( Please tell me how I can make it up to you!

(also, you live in the middle of the greatest continent on earth in terms of amazing, diverse landscapes, cities, coastlines and cheap foodstuffs - I am teh jealous one)

Mark C, Thursday, 10 April 2008 16:42 (eighteen years ago)

Mark C, it is really okay. I can live with it!

John... if there weren't so many damn corn fields between us, I'd probably try to strangle you. Odds are that by the time class is over tonight I'll be too tired to make the effort, so once AGAIN you escape my nefarious clutches.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 10 April 2008 16:45 (eighteen years ago)

I would like to thank 1-800-contacts "tell us who your doctor is again" policy for curing me of many months of paperwork packrat syndrome and filling my garbage with lots of totally obsolete shit like you wouldn't believe

El Tomboto, Thursday, 10 April 2008 16:53 (eighteen years ago)

... and i'm back

remy bean, Thursday, 10 April 2008 16:59 (eighteen years ago)

YAY HELLO REMY! How is Seattle?

Tom - it sounds like you are having a frustrating morning.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 10 April 2008 17:08 (eighteen years ago)

seattle is very nice so far, though i haven't walked farther than a few blocks from my apartment.

in the room next to mine is, apparently, a meth lab run by squatters. i am afeard of getting blown up.

remy bean, Thursday, 10 April 2008 17:17 (eighteen years ago)

Wow, Seattle really is the Minneapolis of the West Coast.

HI DERE, Thursday, 10 April 2008 17:20 (eighteen years ago)

hi remy!

tehresa, Thursday, 10 April 2008 17:25 (eighteen years ago)

Remy, you are having a bit more excitement than I think I'd like. I hope you stay safe.

I bet it isn't doing a weird mix of very cold rain and snow in Seattle, though! (wtf MN weather - PLEASE STOP NOW, I SURRENDER)

Sara R-C, Thursday, 10 April 2008 17:27 (eighteen years ago)

aw remy! hihi!

lxy, Thursday, 10 April 2008 17:30 (eighteen years ago)

okay, this weather, I CANNOT EVEN GET WARM EVEN IN MY OWN HOUSE FOR GOD'S SAKE

Sara R-C, Thursday, 10 April 2008 18:38 (eighteen years ago)

guys it is sooooooooo beautiful today in new york! 60s and sunny and there are spring flowers (and even spring sneezing for me!). i had to go across campus to pick something up and it was soooo nice i did not want to come back to my flourescent office :(

tehresa, Thursday, 10 April 2008 18:51 (eighteen years ago)

tehresa, I am glad to hear that it is warm somewhere on this planet. Please send some warmth and sun to MN, I beg of you!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 10 April 2008 19:01 (eighteen years ago)

i will channel sunny energy your way. nb this is the first really awesome spring day we've had, though last sat. was hinting at it.

i had iced tea and feel cheery.

tehresa, Thursday, 10 April 2008 19:07 (eighteen years ago)

Thank you for any sunny energy you can spare!

It's April 10, ffs. I wouldn't mind the rain, it is the part with the cold, snow, and bad roads that should be over by now.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 10 April 2008 19:14 (eighteen years ago)

Okay, I'm going to try to get over it and focus on IV THERAPY LEARNING for tonight. That should be distracting, right?

Sara R-C, Thursday, 10 April 2008 19:15 (eighteen years ago)

I'm actually in a pretty good mood today but a good mood for me still involves giving the world the double deuce most of the time

El Tomboto, Thursday, 10 April 2008 19:16 (eighteen years ago)

i have been really bipolar lately in that during the day i am all go-getter ready to take on the world and then when i get home at night i sink into a crazy depressive funk.
i hope spring fixes this.

tehresa, Thursday, 10 April 2008 19:20 (eighteen years ago)

Tom - I can appreciate that attitude.

tehresa - I think you are my opposite; I tend to be in a depressive funk during the day and then at night I wake up and want to GO GO GO. Probably this has something to do with the fact that I actually get out sometimes in the evenings (even if it is just for class - I tend to get kind of wound up). But yes, maybe spring will make the days better, too. (Assuming spring even comes to MN this year.)

Sara R-C, Thursday, 10 April 2008 19:25 (eighteen years ago)

we will get spring for a few hours, and then it will be crockpot steambath time

John Justen, Thursday, 10 April 2008 19:28 (eighteen years ago)

if the evening depresso would let me go to bed on time, i wouldn't mind it. but i also get out of class at 9:30 and usally get home around 10-10:15, so then i am UP FOREVER either doing hw or winding down, but stewing about it.

tehresa, Thursday, 10 April 2008 19:29 (eighteen years ago)

tehresa, plz come study with me; we will accomplish nothing, probably, but it would be fun.

xpost I'm ready for the steambath if that's what it takes to get clear roads and fingers and toes that aren't ice cold 24-7. BRING IT ON

Sara R-C, Thursday, 10 April 2008 19:32 (eighteen years ago)

last night I was pretty sure I was tired but then I had an idea for a bass synth that I wanted to build in Live which wound up turning itself into a full-blown loop so I went to bed at 4 am again

El Tomboto, Thursday, 10 April 2008 19:34 (eighteen years ago)

I have no idea how you're even functioning, Tom. Wow.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 10 April 2008 19:37 (eighteen years ago)

sara i <3 study dates - sometimes they are more effective than when left to my own devices (i tend to get distracted easily by things like, oh, say, the internets). favorite ever was last semester when my friend and i went through 2 bottles of wine and then moved on to the bar near her house while studying for 2 of our finals: we both got As on both of them!

tehresa, Thursday, 10 April 2008 19:55 (eighteen years ago)

the white people tacos thread is now more irritating to me than the primaries thread. jesus christ I hate me some faux-worldly urbanites raving about how great their <$5 lunch junk of choice is

El Tomboto, Thursday, 10 April 2008 20:12 (eighteen years ago)

tonight should be pretty exciting for me since I get to fill up my new case logic binder with all the loose CDs left over from re-ripping project. I threw out all my digipak cases!! fuck you, ugly stuff that doesn't belong on a bookshelf!!

El Tomboto, Thursday, 10 April 2008 20:20 (eighteen years ago)

lol that thread is just making me crabby because i am now hungry! also chicago takeover wtf?!
xposts

tehresa, Thursday, 10 April 2008 20:27 (eighteen years ago)

Hi Tom!

Mark C, Thursday, 10 April 2008 20:28 (eighteen years ago)
