the greatest "chinese" restaurant in the world is Leo's Chow Mein in east st. paul. they have an all you can eat buffet where the waitresses walk around with trays full of food and force it on you. there is nothing vegetarian included (even the fresh potato chips have little bits of pork clinging to them). it costs 5.95 including tax with free oolong ice tea.

this point is inarguable, do not try, god will smite you

John Justen, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 18:03 (eighteen years ago)

also, KARP is the greatest house-cleaning soundtrack in the world

John Justen, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 18:03 (eighteen years ago)

also dan i am having a V8. take that.

John Justen, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 18:05 (eighteen years ago)

Okay, do I want to have waitresses forcing food on me?

Maybe I do. I will make a mental note about this place.

I don't know what KARP is. (It reminds me of K31th K4rp1nsk3, though.)

DAN JOHN IS IMBIBING SOMETHING WITH NUTRIENTS. I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY NOW

it is the sort of music that apparently gives the acupunture place below my apartment the urge to bang on my floor with a broom of some kind.

NO DICE THIS IS REVENGE FOR BURNING INCENSE THAT SMELLS LIKE CATSHIT EVERY AFTERNOON FOR THE LAST FEW MONTHS

John Justen, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 18:14 (eighteen years ago)

there's a chinese place near my school called "OK Chinese"

max, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 18:15 (eighteen years ago)

guess how the food is

max, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 18:15 (eighteen years ago)

might i mention that when choosing apartments in the future, always remember that hardwood floors, while charming, are a permeable odor barrier

xpost i like the humility of that

John Justen, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 18:15 (eighteen years ago)

Just be careful, John. Those acupuncture people have NEEDLES

ha ha max - at least they sound reality-based and honest!

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 18:16 (eighteen years ago)

hello and welcome to "adequate french restaurant", we're on the corner next to "gastrointestinal whirlwind curry house"

John Justen, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 18:16 (eighteen years ago)

I would totally give those restaurants a try.

xpost I look forward to John's forthcoming guide to shopping for a home. I'm pretty sure it will have tips that no one else has thought of.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 18:18 (eighteen years ago)

I like an adequate French onion soup as well as anyone else.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 18:19 (eighteen years ago)

there has been serious discussion of the viability of running beer lines through the old clothes chute

John Justen, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 18:20 (eighteen years ago)

no i am not kidding

John Justen, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 18:20 (eighteen years ago)

tehresa, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 18:21 (eighteen years ago)

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 18:21 (eighteen years ago)

tehresa, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 18:22 (eighteen years ago)

new house

John Justen, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 18:23 (eighteen years ago)

is where the beer lines would be done

John Justen, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 18:23 (eighteen years ago)

I haven't lived in a house with a laundry chute since I was in grade school! I kind of envy that, whatever you do with it.

(Also I really want to SEE the actual beer lines if you do that! I promise not to toss any laundry into your beer.)

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 18:25 (eighteen years ago)

ok, we are off to buy a house now i guess

John Justen, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 19:02 (eighteen years ago)

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 19:05 (eighteen years ago)

HAHA U HOUSE-POOR NOW

HI DERE, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 19:24 (eighteen years ago)

You will get used to adjusting your budget to compensate, though. (Maybe go out less but have people over more... it's not THAT bad, DANIEL.)

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 19:32 (eighteen years ago)

i always wanted a lawndry shoot!

tehresa, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 19:44 (eighteen years ago)

My little brother used to try to slide down the one in our house when we were kids. I wish I had done that!

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 19:49 (eighteen years ago)

It's not fun.

HI DERE, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 19:53 (eighteen years ago)

Rubyredd, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 20:11 (eighteen years ago)

I am going to try and make sure whatever my mortgage ends up being it does not prevent me from filling the space with whatever the hell I want and keeping my fridge and pantry stocked with whatever unhealthy junk I like.

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 20:14 (eighteen years ago)

What that really means is I'm ready to wait it out until I'm sure this economy is definitely in the shitbin.

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 20:16 (eighteen years ago)

Are you going to fill the space with candy? That would be SWEET.

HI DERE, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 20:16 (eighteen years ago)

LITERALLY

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 20:29 (eighteen years ago)

I think I would like a pantry just for baking stuff and candy. It would contain a well organized collection of dark chocolate and unsweetened cocoas. Other must haves: dark chocolate Hershey kisses, Mounds bars, Reese's peanut butter cups. Oh, and maybe dark chocolate covered almonds and macadamia nuts.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 20:31 (eighteen years ago)

What that really means is I'm ready to wait it out until I'm sure this economy is definitely in the shitbin.

Tom will begin househunting in approximately 5 minutes.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 20:32 (eighteen years ago)

if i had a sugar cupboard i'd definitely have to have the salty snack deliciousness counterpart. and maybe one all for bacon.

tehresa, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 20:38 (eighteen years ago)

The entire concept of a bacon cupboard is blowing my mind.

HI DERE, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 20:42 (eighteen years ago)

dark chocolate covered pretzels = the perfect combination of chocolate, salty and crunchy

Don't forget to refrigerate your bacon cupboards, guys!

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 20:44 (eighteen years ago)

Maybe a bacon icebox would make more sense.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 20:45 (eighteen years ago)

I would probably listen to a band called BACON ICEBOX

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 20:47 (eighteen years ago)

did u know they make bacon chocolate? i am afraid to try it!

tehresa, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 20:57 (eighteen years ago)

I just need to restock my bookshelves and get some more furniture that isn't from fucking IKEA or the Container Store.

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 21:06 (eighteen years ago)

Pantry is for kettle chips, hamburger buns and bags of potatoes. I don't need much in the way of kitchen storage.

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 21:07 (eighteen years ago)

What makes the clown smile? Schlitz.

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 21:09 (eighteen years ago)

bacon chocolate?! CRAZY

I need more bookshelves, and they're probably going to be from IKEA. Not ideal, but...

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 21:10 (eighteen years ago)

it is at whole foods!

i also need shelves. i think ikea may be all i can afford. actually can't afford anyhting now. but soon... ikea?

tehresa, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 21:21 (eighteen years ago)

sooooooooooo not afraid to try bacon chocolate

jergïns, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 21:22 (eighteen years ago)

I wonder if the local co-op might have it... hmmmm

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 21:28 (eighteen years ago)
