my sis had shingles in high school, but she is diabetic and always getting weird stuff.

the year i broke my leg, i got to play the crippled soldier in the school play.

only bone breakage: my elbow, when i was 9. fell off my bike.

only slightly unusual illness: juvenile arthritis, when i was 4.

now i feel like ive failed you all by not getting shingles

I really, really love bringing up the story where we all went out to dinner with my family and she got my parents to buy her wine and then told them she was 19 after her third glass!

Actually, the better story is when my college roommate who moved to MN bailed early on his bachelor party, which was being held on my dad's boat, so the rest of us hung out and told various stories about our sexual encounters, all the while not knowing that my dad had not in fact gone home but was hanging out on a neighboring boat and listening to all of our nonsense.
