Did N.I.C.K. come back btw?

wilter, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 01:56 (eighteen years ago)

Sara: You are correct.

I'd like to compliment everyone who rickrolled today. Kudos to you all.

HI DERE, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 01:56 (eighteen years ago)

Well, you can certainly say that Rubyredd is forthright.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 01:57 (eighteen years ago)

Dan, I am so tired that I had to scroll up to see what the hell I was correct about. I am a sad, sad person.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 01:57 (eighteen years ago)

N.I.C.K. is probably recovering from a severe hangover.

sara, boredom brings out my secret tacky/dirty/TMI side.

Rubyredd, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 02:30 (eighteen years ago)

the first time i got rickrolled - by omar little - i thought my computer had a freakin virus

Rubyredd, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 02:31 (eighteen years ago)

xpost Rubyredd, you crack me up. I will get back to our Scramble game tomorrow, when my BRANE is more functional.

John - re: the organ at Carleton's concert hall - I asked A. and his response was, "it's nothing compared to Olaf's organ. Olaf's has, like 40 ranks while that one just has 16..." BUT there is an organ in there and they probably did make a big deal of it in 199-whatever; I just have no clue why.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 02:44 (eighteen years ago)

Okay, I'm going to bed with my pharmacology book now. If I ever wake up again, I'll bump the thread...

good night for now, all!

OK itr east coasters, please to inform me about the realistic aspects of transportation (money, time, and grossitude all factors here) between the following cities what so i can plan my itinerary at the end of May: Boston, Philly, DC, NYC. I need to end up in NYC.

Also, you sad bastards should let me know of any terrible wage slave endless hours of wark/choristry/James Bond spytrip/sobriety commitments you have during the last week of said month.

John Justen, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 03:28 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, had a wicked hangover, just got home from class. Must remember that cheap wine mini-binges should be done with white. And water.

Shiiit. I've my exam on 1 May and i've only done 2/6 "modules". And i've had the bullshit for, like, months.

So much reading to do :/

wilter, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 06:35 (eighteen years ago)

anybody who thinks american food is bad has spent very little time outside of america and has likely spent far, far too much money while doing so

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 07:21 (eighteen years ago)

i mean as much as I sometimes fantasize about having a bunch of asian noodle shops a few blocks from my workplace or a series of little central american roach coaches within walking distance of my apartment I have at least gotten over kidding myself that that is acceptable or even tolerable day-to-day cuisine

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 07:23 (eighteen years ago)

basically as resident grumpy old fucking bastard i wish there was less whining on this thread and more sophisticated discussion of how life can be appreciated IN SPITE OF the fact that pretty much all of it sucks

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 07:25 (eighteen years ago)

jolie bon beau bump

estela, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 09:39 (eighteen years ago)

i have a GREAT appreciation for american food and am seriously looking forward to visiting my first taco bell and in-and-out burger place. i also really want to eat southern food because it always looks really good in the movies.

home from work bump

Rubyredd, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 11:04 (eighteen years ago)

do not eat southern food anywhere but the south.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 13:29 (eighteen years ago)

speaking of which tho, god I need bbq.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 13:29 (eighteen years ago)

OK itr east coasters, please to inform me about the realistic aspects of transportation (money, time, and grossitude all factors here) between the following cities what so i can plan my itinerary at the end of May: Boston, Philly, DC, NYC. I need to end up in NYC.

I would fly into D.C. -> greyhound bus/amtrak to Philly -> greyhound bus/amtrak to Boston -> Chinatown Bus ($15, not that gross or scary) to NYC. You could do Philly before D.C. too. Philly's like a five or six hour drive from Boston, dunno about the time between D.C./Philly but it's probably similar.

I might be around, I'll know for sure by the end of next week.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 13:39 (eighteen years ago)

Tombot, just because American food sucks it does not mean we don't love it. My town is finally getting a Culver's and I am sure I will eat there too much because I love their greasy burgers and their frozen custard. That is part of how I gained 50 pounds when I was pregnant with J, though. It is NOT going to be an every day thing.

Everday day lunch is more like frozen pizza rolls vs. pita bread with hummus.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 13:43 (eighteen years ago)

Also, good morning all, etc. etc.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 13:44 (eighteen years ago)

John, your trip is centered around NYC, right? I would follow Jessie's travel advice only I'd do Chinatown buses everywhere.

HI DERE, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 13:46 (eighteen years ago)

^^I had no idea there's a Philly chinatown bus.

John Justen, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 15:40 (eighteen years ago)

also, processed american food is AWESOPME

John Justen, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 15:42 (eighteen years ago)

Australia isn't one of those odd places where peanut butter doesn't exist, is it?

John Justen, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 15:43 (eighteen years ago)

I am personally addicted to some of the (processed) stuff from Schwan's. And the guy comes to the door to sell it to me! Plus they have some very nice ice cream.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 15:47 (eighteen years ago)

Wait they make things that aren't ice cream?

John Justen, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 15:48 (eighteen years ago)

They have a whole CATALOG of things they can sell you.

A. and the kids live on the chicken strips that they cook in the toaster oven. I eat a lot of the spinach bread bowl things (they have sort of cheesy spinach artichoke dip stuff in them). I think they even have premade burger type things that you just cook in the microwave or whatever, but I've never gone that far.

It's more expensive than processed supermarket food, though.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 15:51 (eighteen years ago)

Schwan's ice cream in my freezer right now = Raspberry Rumble. Some kind of raspberry swirl in it with raspberry chocolate "truffle" pieces. It is rather good.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 15:52 (eighteen years ago)

AWESOME THREAD OF AWESOME PROCESSED FOOD AWESOMENESS

John Justen, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 15:53 (eighteen years ago)

i think maybe they don't have peanut butter in au/nz? or they have the really assy version that kids try once and then hate and you can't blame them? not real peanut butter at least

jergïns, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 16:06 (eighteen years ago)

of COURSE theres a chinatown bus in philly

thread bump

I have to read a whole bunch of stuff about acetominophen today.

I am trying to create enthusiasm for this endeavor.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 17:11 (eighteen years ago)

jessie - your radio show happening this afternoon, too?

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 17:30 (eighteen years ago)

My favorite thing about acetaminophen is that if you take too much, it will kill you, but slowly and in one of the most painful ways possible, and there's nothing anyone can do.

Also great for joint pain!
