R.R. Actually, if you're in California, and market forces haven't changed, you'll have access to the lovely Two-Buck Chuck! Charles Shaw is the name attached to this winery that has made quite a mint selling its mass produced and distributed through Trader Joe's but still rather palatable wine. If you live outside of the Golden State, if I'm not wrong, you have to pay an extra "Not living in God's chose paradise" dollar importation fee.

Just the same, it's Cabernet Sauvignon that isn't at all offensive to the senses that costs in most parts of the country $3 a bottle. Can't beat that.

Tombot you lovable bastard, I have more than 48 hours to complete my assigments for this week, I'm practically in the clear!

en i see kay, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 05:11 (eighteen years ago)

i have heard of this two buck chuck! well, i will be in CA a few months (ALLAH WILLING, OF COURSE). although, after last week's wine-tainted night out, i'm sticking to vodka for awhile.

Rubyredd, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 05:12 (eighteen years ago)

i am so done witth that crap for tonight. anyway, the spreadsheets are painstaking and awful, and based on total bull/crazy schemes of this insane software salesman who thinks he's a marketer who really only seems to care if you can link a bunch of shit together. the actual content doesn't seem to matter to him, which kind of angers me, because when i am doing this for a living people are REALLY gonna care about that content. and it's all based on a totally antiquated sales model. anyway... whatever. i decided it doesn't matter much because when i turn in the final it will be on paper and no one will be able to see the formulas anyway. HAH!!

ruby i am only 1/2 way through with my second of 4 semesters.
definitely go for the budget chuck when you're in teh states! i wish i had some now.

tehresa, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 05:13 (eighteen years ago)

I wouldn't be posting this much if I hadn't realized that the stats are going to reset soon (tomorrow) and that ONCE JUST THIS ONCE I'll be in the top posters stats after six years of reading and being culturally influenced by your collective music/food/consumerist whore recommendations.

I say this with v. deep love, btw.

en i see kay, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 05:13 (eighteen years ago)

i never handed in anything less than 2 weeks late, sometimes up to 6 weeks late. but that was the joy of doing an english lit/reli studies degree - no one gives a flying fuck.

Oh, how I wish I had a curriculum with such a policy!

In Columbia's attempt to produce WELL-ROUNDED ADULTS, there is a mandate from on high to accept NO late assignments, and to punish those who miss more than 15% of class sessions with FAILURE.

en i see kay, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 05:17 (eighteen years ago)

technically, there was supposed to be an average of 2% p/day penalties for lateness, a fail for showing up to less than 8/11 tutorials, and a fail for not handing in every piece of written work. i did not comply with these rules many a time and i still got a majority of As and a few Bs (just one C, plus about a million Es for all the classes i dropped out of). universities are businesses who want your money, and they'll keep taking it by letting you slide through (here in nz, anyway).

Rubyredd, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 05:21 (eighteen years ago)

That's probably true here too, but I'm a dirty Introvert, and find withdrawing (if timely enough) or failing so very preferable to fighting for my individual cause.

I'll probably fail miserably in this society of ours, or perhaps flourish on the backs of the wonderful extroverted few I've managed to convince that I'm worthwhile.

Alright, really, that's the fifth time my cigarette has fallen to the ground from the ashtray. Practical advice from those who find it simple, nay, imperative to cut through any societal bullshit in order to thrive is def. welcomed. Also, those who don't drink heavily on a Monday night. CAN YOU HELP?

I'm looking at you, Tom.

Wait, this'll go on the ASK TOMBOT thread, even if I am deeply afraid (for some reason) of being hardsonned by J-Dubs on my lack of HAXX0R SKILLZ if I post on noise bored.

en i see kay, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 05:30 (eighteen years ago)

remy omg, where is that from?

estela, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 11:34 (eighteen years ago)

Sorry, I was cleaning house last night and was therefore unavailable for mollification. I'm sure John and Sara are currently passed out on a snowdrift in St. Paul.

To our newest poster: your porn escapades astound and amaze. WELCOME

HI DERE, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 11:50 (eighteen years ago)

ATTENTION:

Today's mission is to take the following source URL:

http://tinyurl.com/2py92f

...and link it to as many places as you can. (Bonus points if you re: tinyurl it to disguise it from more savvy clickers.)

HI DERE, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 12:04 (eighteen years ago)

I AM ALIVE.

Thanks to John and Caledonia.

They put me up on their couch; no one slept in a snowdrift (unless John got into a snowdrift after I left, for which I cannot be held responsible). I also did not have to kick a mannequin out of its pretend hospital bed, so I was saved from many potential horrible fates.

I'm going to take a nap now, since I think the last time I sat up so late talking I lived in a dorm room. (Not to worry, Dan, not tooooo many stories were told about you.)

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 14:52 (eighteen years ago)

No snowdrift?????

DISAPPOINTED

HI DERE, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 15:21 (eighteen years ago)

WELL HELLO AND GOOD MORNING ALL

John Justen, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 15:32 (eighteen years ago)

LOL Rickrolling. Bigger LOL force quitting.

suzy, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 15:34 (eighteen years ago)

i wld have lolled more if the force quitting hadn't led me to close a bunch of tabs i had open for research but i guess that is my own fault for getting april fools pwned!

tehresa, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 17:22 (eighteen years ago)

you guys had to force quit?

El Tomboto, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 17:25 (eighteen years ago)

Y

jergïns, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 17:27 (eighteen years ago)

;_;

tehresa, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 17:53 (eighteen years ago)

Tom, we had to force quit if we didn't want to roll with Rick to the end.

suzy, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 18:06 (eighteen years ago)

i went with the close tab panic stab at ok button option

John Justen, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 18:08 (eighteen years ago)

xpost to Dan - well, if it makes you feel any better, my class wound up having to go outside because the fire alarm went off. Apparently some St. K student cannot correctly cook a pizza. So lots of students were standing NEAR snowdrifts while being snowed on at about 9 p.m. last night. INCLUDING ME

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 18:10 (eighteen years ago)

it does make him feel better. because he's mean.

John Justen, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 18:11 (eighteen years ago)

if you click through the lyrics popups as fast as you can you eventually get to leave the page.

El Tomboto, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 18:23 (eighteen years ago)

Oh! And my car wasn't really stuck in a snowdrift, but it was kind of stuck in the parking lot of John and Caledonia's apartment! Except John fixed it, so YAY! But he was standing near snowdrifts in the snow, too.

THERE WERE SNOWDRIFTS AND IT WAS SNOWING

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 18:24 (eighteen years ago)

WHY IS IT SO COLD IN MY APARTMENT I MIGHT BE DYING

John Justen, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 18:45 (eighteen years ago)

"Hey...come on...it's a beautiful night for a walk on the beach..."

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 18:48 (eighteen years ago)

xpost It is cold outside, but also, just maybe you should check your temperature to make sure you're not sick. (Refer here to the Scarlet fever incident, the 4th of July fever incident, and possibly other incidents that were not discussed, as appropriate.)

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 18:50 (eighteen years ago)

I don't think heads in bags have anything to do with the temperature of John's apartment.

DCI McMillan said the children who found the remains were "fairly upset" and were being cared for by their parents at home.

lololololololol hi dere mr understatement

HI DERE, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 18:57 (eighteen years ago)

my office is rly cold too! grr!

tehresa, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 19:00 (eighteen years ago)

xpost Well, I HOPE NOT

If I ever regain brain functionality, I will read what I am missing. Although it sounds like I do not want to.

tehresa - I am sorry you are cold, too!

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 19:01 (eighteen years ago)

they opened a target across the street my coworker and i are gonna skip work for a few min and go over there and i will buy a hoodie maybe?! lol!

tehresa, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 19:03 (eighteen years ago)

I want to go, too! I need to buy a BIG purse.

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 19:30 (eighteen years ago)

"It may well be that future body parts are found and all youngsters should be kept away from the beach."

Adult fun for everyone!

suzy, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 19:32 (eighteen years ago)

Not what I usually think of when I think of "adult fun," but somehow I'm sure there is a market for this.

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 19:47 (eighteen years ago)

only in nevada

remy bean, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 19:59 (eighteen years ago)

sara needs to buy a BIG purse, BIG enough to hold a HUMAN HEAD

John Justen, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 20:00 (eighteen years ago)

lol "8 Heads In A Duffel Bag"

HI DERE, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 20:02 (eighteen years ago)

FOR STUDYING PURPOSES ONLY GUYS

I don't need eight.

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 20:44 (eighteen years ago)

Just seven.

Anyway, congratulations to gbx. (Not about heads, about other things.)

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 21:06 (eighteen years ago)

I KNOW! Medical school and gestation. Whoo!
