christ almighty no wonder it's a seedy day

lxy, Saturday, 22 March 2008 20:02 (eighteen years ago)

That sounds terrifying. And messy. And gross.

Wow.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 22 March 2008 20:04 (eighteen years ago)

If I were you Mr Balls, I would put my tin hat on right now

you don't need to go to the link, that is just my favorite ILX thread title ever, Saturday, 22 March 2008 20:23 (eighteen years ago)

so i made a big (for me) deposit this past wedneday, and the fucking bank refuses to release any of the money until next thursday and now i am out of money, and the people on the WaMu help line were real shitholes to me.

me: 'so i have several thousand dollars in the account, but you will only allow me access to fifty-two dollars until five business days have elapsed?'

them: yes sir

me: would you be willing to release five hundred dollars to me?

them: absolutely not

me: why?

them: because it is on hold.

me: but you have the ability to release a small percentage of it to me, yes?

them: that is not the issue, sir. what is it you are asking me to do?

me: what should i do? what would you recommend in the meantime? i have X dollars in the bank, but you will only let me touch fifty-two of them, and i have expenses exceeding fifty two dollars coming due in the next four days.

them: i cannot give you advice.

me: ...

them: ... you need to get off the line. thank you for calling, sir.

remy bean, Saturday, 22 March 2008 21:00 (eighteen years ago)

Can you go to that bank in person? Because I would do so immediately and inform them that I was closing my account and explain exactly why I was doing so.

Alternately, can you call during business hours and talk to someone who can explain just what the hell they are about?

Sara R-C, Saturday, 22 March 2008 21:07 (eighteen years ago)

I mean, I can conceive of 24 or even 48 hour processing times, but a week is beyond ridiculous.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 22 March 2008 21:07 (eighteen years ago)

I am going to make a cake to take to my Mom's house tomorrow bump

Sara R-C, Saturday, 22 March 2008 22:08 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, switch banks. BoA only does 48 hrs IIRC.

HI DERE, Saturday, 22 March 2008 23:03 (eighteen years ago)

It is kind of insane how totally pissed I was feeling on your behalf earlier, remy. I've never even met you and I was ready to go on into that bank myself and demand your money for you.

Maybe I should try to get more sleep huh.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 22 March 2008 23:13 (eighteen years ago)

Remy, besides killing bankers, you must remain in SF through next weekend. Then that way I can say I've seen you in LA, there and Seattle in the space of six weeks. (I am selfish.)

Ned Raggett, Sunday, 23 March 2008 00:02 (eighteen years ago)

you should sleep, sara, and dream of disease-free chilluns

and yes ned, i will be here through next weekend ... though i might need to find new accommodation, because the cousin and i are going to be at loggerheads within the next two days

remy bean, Sunday, 23 March 2008 00:03 (eighteen years ago)

Hmmm. Well one of the SF bunch surely has couch space.

Ned Raggett, Sunday, 23 March 2008 00:14 (eighteen years ago)

'ask chaki!'

Rubyredd, Sunday, 23 March 2008 00:18 (eighteen years ago)

remy, I will sleep, but not before 5.5 miles on the treadmill, a shower, and putting Easter stuff together for the kids. Luckily the only thing I really need to do tomorrow is glaze the cake I made and go to my parents' house; I will eat, drink and vegetate in HSTNGS all day.

So this is my pre-treadmill bump.

also remy, I hope you find a good place to stay!

NEW YORK, March 5 (UPI) -- Former U.S. child star Danny Bonaduce will be seen mentoring aspiring young actors and their stage parents in a new reality show, VH1 said Wednesday.

Bonaduce is best known for his work on the 1970s sit-com "The Patridge Family."

His new show, "I Know My Kid's a Star," is to premiere March 20 on VH1.

A sneak peek of the first episode will be available on VH1.com, starting March 13.

The show challenges Bonaduce to seek out "one great, aspiring, triple-threat, stage-hungry kid, identify them as a star and train their driven, stage mom or dad to be a supportive and fit parent who won't end up driving their kid into rehab," VH1 said in a statement.

During the course of eight, hour-long episodes, the series will feature 10 parent/child teams living in a house in Los Angeles, willing to do whatever it takes so the kid can be a star.

Bonaduce and casting director/manager Marki Costello will judge the teams based on skill level, poise, likability and stage presence.

In the end, one team will win $50,000 in cash and a year of representation by Costello.

Curt1s Stephens, Sunday, 23 March 2008 04:37 (eighteen years ago)

why on earth would anyone let his/her child near Danny Bonaduce?

Curt1s Stephens, Sunday, 23 March 2008 04:37 (eighteen years ago)

at least they're pimping their kid to rich johns

remy bean, Sunday, 23 March 2008 04:51 (eighteen years ago)

I feel dirty just having read that.

Sara R-C, Sunday, 23 March 2008 05:06 (eighteen years ago)

remy, do not continue to do business with WaMu. It is your duty to capitalism. (I have USAA, there's nothing I hate worse than shitty bank service - the only purpose of them holding your money for more than 24 hours is to steal interest from you and pocket it themselves)

El Tomboto, Sunday, 23 March 2008 05:08 (eighteen years ago)

(of course I don't mind using my debit/credit as a "credit" card all the time because the 48-96 hours they spend "processing" the payments for those transactions comes out of the vendors' pockets, not mine, and I get a cut)

El Tomboto, Sunday, 23 March 2008 05:10 (eighteen years ago)

i know this is not the case for everyone, but boa (and its prior incarnations) have been treatin' me right for about 10 years now.

tehresa, Sunday, 23 March 2008 05:11 (eighteen years ago)

definitely, tom. i am running out of banks to switch to, though...
fleet bank had great customer service, but they were eaten by the gigantic b.o.a. conglomerate, who lost $1,000 of my money two years ago –– which necessitated a $50 'tracing' fee before retrieval. i think i will try to switch to a local credit union in seattle?

remy bean, Sunday, 23 March 2008 05:17 (eighteen years ago)

my cousin has put most of his millions in gold and palladium bars, which he's using as hedging on the future collapse of the u.s. economy.

remy bean, Sunday, 23 March 2008 05:18 (eighteen years ago)

yes, it's true that putting all of your money into one or two commodities is always a brilliant idea.

El Tomboto, Sunday, 23 March 2008 05:24 (eighteen years ago)

if he thinks the us economy is going to collapse he should just buy puts on the DJIA

El Tomboto, Sunday, 23 March 2008 05:24 (eighteen years ago)

all his puts are on countrywide, all his calls are on debt collectors

remy bean, Sunday, 23 March 2008 05:42 (eighteen years ago)

he is v v financially prudent, in an aspie way, as long as you divorce the horrid amounts of suffering his investments signify

remy bean, Sunday, 23 March 2008 05:44 (eighteen years ago)

debt collectors aren't going to be make any money either. walk-aways and loan strikers could give a shit.

El Tomboto, Sunday, 23 March 2008 05:44 (eighteen years ago)

xpost haha that's what everybody always says about bears

El Tomboto, Sunday, 23 March 2008 05:45 (eighteen years ago)

OH SHIT A BEAR

El Tomboto, Sunday, 23 March 2008 05:45 (eighteen years ago)

he watches a lot of mad money, and since he is super-rich he has a secret number at which to to call jim cramer

remy bean, Sunday, 23 March 2008 05:47 (eighteen years ago)

unfortunately, that is entirely serious

remy bean, Sunday, 23 March 2008 05:47 (eighteen years ago)

so, this guy single?

tehresa, Sunday, 23 March 2008 05:48 (eighteen years ago)

wait does he call cramer to prank the dude and yell insults or to get advice? because jim cramer is a fucking numbskull

El Tomboto, Sunday, 23 March 2008 05:49 (eighteen years ago)

he hates cramer, but he has called him on his secret bat-phone-line to discuss certain issues w/r/t google stock

and tza, you are sadly a little too female, a little too non-addicty, and a lot too guilty-by-association-with-me for his tastes

remy bean, Sunday, 23 March 2008 05:52 (eighteen years ago)

if you looked like you might have a shot

remy bean, Sunday, 23 March 2008 05:52 (eighteen years ago)

if you looked like ^ this ^

remy bean, Sunday, 23 March 2008 05:53 (eighteen years ago)

El Tomboto, Sunday, 23 March 2008 05:57 (eighteen years ago)

I'm finally going to sleep, now having mixed feelings about remy having crazier cousins than me.

Good night & happy Easter or whatever

Sara R-C, Sunday, 23 March 2008 06:42 (eighteen years ago)
