I apologize for my obtuseness, but I confess that it has more to do with lack of knowledge of Gogol Bordello than lack of knowledge of gutter humor.
(oh... bordello? Well, there's a jumping off point, obv. I *am* tired...)

4l3x is home, ear infections in both ears, hopefully I can get him to sleep. And then I'm going to bed, too!

Good night, all.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 22 March 2008 05:48 (eighteen years ago)

Yuck. I'm glad I was never an ear infection kid (my sister was and by the time she finished screaming from having one everyone's ears hurt). I gave my folks enough trouble as it was!

suzy, Saturday, 22 March 2008 08:50 (eighteen years ago)

John Justen, Saturday, 22 March 2008 16:48 (eighteen years ago)

John Justen, Saturday, 22 March 2008 16:48 (eighteen years ago)

worst guitar store ever

HI DERE, Saturday, 22 March 2008 16:51 (eighteen years ago)

i have decided to move to seattle, and the week after next, perhaps

remy bean, Saturday, 22 March 2008 16:53 (eighteen years ago)

Cool remy! Seattle sounds awesome to me. I want to visit it someday!

I have just woken up, believe it or not. But I was up half of last night with ear infection boy. Good times.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 22 March 2008 16:56 (eighteen years ago)

ear infections are the worst. i used to get them a lot from swimming. they were especially unfun when they moved to the inner ear, and i'd lose my balance.

remy bean, Saturday, 22 March 2008 16:58 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah - they DO suck. suzy said she never got them as a kid upthread and that is just really lucky for her. J has never had one and this was 4lex's first since he was 1 1/2. The Up All Night With Kids feeling was BACK. Wow, I had totally forgotten it!

I was reminded of how painful ear infections are myself when I was pregnant with 4lex - and I still remember it vividly 10 years later! I hope that never happens to me again. Because OUCH.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 22 March 2008 17:03 (eighteen years ago)

WELL! seattle's great, remy. i think you'll dig it.

so yeah. let us know what is up.

lxy, Saturday, 22 March 2008 17:04 (eighteen years ago)

will i be able to find cheapo work?

remy bean, Saturday, 22 March 2008 17:58 (eighteen years ago)

oh sure, i don't know why you wouldn't be able to.

seems like there's lots of temp stuff if nothing else.

it's been ten centuries since i got a new job so i'm not an authority on the subject, but i know plenty of people who've started as temps and easily become permanent.

lxy, Saturday, 22 March 2008 18:12 (eighteen years ago)

or, you know, just done temp stuff. or gotten something permanent right away.

lxy, Saturday, 22 March 2008 18:18 (eighteen years ago)

i am actually looking for something braindead -- possibly barrista or similar. basically i am moving to seattle to finish work on the novel / screenplay, and want to be able to focus on that and not work stuffs. i will send you an email offboard in a day or so, when i make my plans?

remy bean, Saturday, 22 March 2008 18:22 (eighteen years ago)

yeah, great, remy!

lxy, Saturday, 22 March 2008 18:25 (eighteen years ago)

jergïns, Saturday, 22 March 2008 18:31 (eighteen years ago)

John Justen, Saturday, 22 March 2008 18:52 (eighteen years ago)

^^^ I wish I could draw a picture of what I see in my head when I read that.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 22 March 2008 19:40 (eighteen years ago)

wow a little seedy today

Rubyredd, Saturday, 22 March 2008 19:51 (eighteen years ago)

congratz on making a moving decision, remy

Rubyredd, Saturday, 22 March 2008 19:51 (eighteen years ago)

oh shit i have to tell you guys about this GROSS nightmare i had (this is just the end part because i can't remember the rest):

president bushes, snr and jr, get shot outside this huge house i'm living, their bodies get brought in, and there's blood EVERYWHERE - they've been shot in the head and there's these enormous gaping wounds. i have to wrap their bodies in these huge sheets of plastic, and gather up their brains that have leaked out everywhere... and then microwave them. not sure what was going on in this part of the dream, but i put their mushed up brains into two plastic containers and put them in the microwave.

then i called this guy to come pick up the bodies, and i gave him the containers in a plastic bag and told him 'no matter what, DO NOT TASTE THE STUFF IN THESE CONTAINERS' because i wasn't allowed to tell him what was actually in them.

Rubyredd, Saturday, 22 March 2008 19:59 (eighteen years ago)

christ almighty no wonder it's a seedy day

lxy, Saturday, 22 March 2008 20:02 (eighteen years ago)

That sounds terrifying. And messy. And gross.

Wow.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 22 March 2008 20:04 (eighteen years ago)

If I were you Mr Balls, I would put my tin hat on right now

you don't need to go to the link, that is just my favorite ILX thread title ever, Saturday, 22 March 2008 20:23 (eighteen years ago)

so i made a big (for me) deposit this past wedneday, and the fucking bank refuses to release any of the money until next thursday and now i am out of money, and the people on the WaMu help line were real shitholes to me.

me: 'so i have several thousand dollars in the account, but you will only allow me access to fifty-two dollars until five business days have elapsed?'

them: yes sir

me: would you be willing to release five hundred dollars to me?

them: absolutely not

me: why?

them: because it is on hold.

me: but you have the ability to release a small percentage of it to me, yes?

them: that is not the issue, sir. what is it you are asking me to do?

me: what should i do? what would you recommend in the meantime? i have X dollars in the bank, but you will only let me touch fifty-two of them, and i have expenses exceeding fifty two dollars coming due in the next four days.

them: i cannot give you advice.

me: ...

them: ... you need to get off the line. thank you for calling, sir.

remy bean, Saturday, 22 March 2008 21:00 (eighteen years ago)

Can you go to that bank in person? Because I would do so immediately and inform them that I was closing my account and explain exactly why I was doing so.

Alternately, can you call during business hours and talk to someone who can explain just what the hell they are about?

Sara R-C, Saturday, 22 March 2008 21:07 (eighteen years ago)

I mean, I can conceive of 24 or even 48 hour processing times, but a week is beyond ridiculous.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 22 March 2008 21:07 (eighteen years ago)

I am going to make a cake to take to my Mom's house tomorrow bump

Sara R-C, Saturday, 22 March 2008 22:08 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, switch banks. BoA only does 48 hrs IIRC.

HI DERE, Saturday, 22 March 2008 23:03 (eighteen years ago)

It is kind of insane how totally pissed I was feeling on your behalf earlier, remy. I've never even met you and I was ready to go on into that bank myself and demand your money for you.

Maybe I should try to get more sleep huh.
