SO ANGRY

John Justen, Friday, 21 March 2008 14:27 (eighteen years ago)

I know. If we can't get to St. Paul tonight to go to Luci I am going to be very ;_;

Sara R-C, Friday, 21 March 2008 14:44 (eighteen years ago)

Okay, all the Sisters thread revivals have prompted this amazing set of stories on this thread about the roommate of RabiesAnGentlemen:

A friend of mine made a conscious decision at the age of 23 or so to go through a goth phase and got a Sisters Of Mercy tattoo.

I made a joke about him going through conscious phases at certain ages -- 24, dipsomania, 25, rehab, and the response:

You're on the right trail. He hasn't got to the rehabilitation phase yet, though sometimes when he's drinking weird Brittany Spears concoctions I urge him to do so (gastric bypass, not safe). But he's always pulling this stuff. For a while he wouldn't stop talking about his denim cape. Then it was his kilt. Then it was "all my friends' wives and girlfriends want to fuck me." He still brings an animal horn of some kind to the bars to drink from instead of the little plastic cups.

Just months before the goth phase he was telling me "I could never get into the Cure because they invented goth! Like six months or a year later he was dumped and listening to the Cure really loud in our living room. Awk-ward!

I...I must know more. But from this safe distance.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 21 March 2008 15:45 (eighteen years ago)

The snow is not falling as hard. I am hard-boiling vast numbers of eggs while reading Sisters of Mercy threads and listening to them via youtube.
Meanwhile, J is appealing to me for a game of chess (not that she has a clue how to play).

Sara R-C, Friday, 21 March 2008 15:46 (eighteen years ago)

xpost Okay the animal horn thing is REALLY pushing the bounds of eccentricity.

Sara R-C, Friday, 21 March 2008 15:47 (eighteen years ago)

Hey, YOU live in Minnesota, doesn't most of the state claim they're descended from Horst and Thor, the Viking buddies?

Ned Raggett, Friday, 21 March 2008 16:09 (eighteen years ago)

The way you write that makes it sound like they were the first homosexual couple in history and that somehow they reproduced to create MINNESOTANS

Sara R-C, Friday, 21 March 2008 16:17 (eighteen years ago)

Also, if people claim that, I haven't heard it but that is probably because I've been stuck with the Norwegian Lutefisk-lovers for a long while.

Sara R-C, Friday, 21 March 2008 16:18 (eighteen years ago)

The way you write that makes it sound like they were the first homosexual couple in history and that somehow they reproduced to create MINNESOTANS

qft

HI DERE, Friday, 21 March 2008 16:21 (eighteen years ago)

I was about to say, I am not backing down from this version of history, genetic or otherwise.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 21 March 2008 16:29 (eighteen years ago)

Minnesotans are good, but I'm not sure that we could have defied the basic laws of biology before, say, the 1970s at the earliest.

Sara R-C, Friday, 21 March 2008 16:34 (eighteen years ago)

1973 to be exact

John Justen, Friday, 21 March 2008 17:25 (eighteen years ago)

John was the first in a number of experiments gone slightly awry

Sara R-C, Friday, 21 March 2008 17:33 (eighteen years ago)

lol, born in OH

HI DERE, Friday, 21 March 2008 17:36 (eighteen years ago)

And yet John's twin...

omg the experiments crossed state lines

Sara R-C, Friday, 21 March 2008 17:39 (eighteen years ago)

I get a vision of a shambling monster infant running wild, mad scientists giggling in its wake....

Actually, this'll be Dan and John in forty years:

Ned Raggett, Friday, 21 March 2008 18:29 (eighteen years ago)

Right down to who has the cigarette in their mouth!

Sara R-C, Friday, 21 March 2008 18:59 (eighteen years ago)

Since I was just told not to cut my hair until costumers saw me, I will probably also have an afro by the time May rolls around.

HI DERE, Friday, 21 March 2008 19:00 (eighteen years ago)

plz take pictures and post

Sara R-C, Friday, 21 March 2008 19:12 (eighteen years ago)

Our lab instructor/prof showed us a picture of hersef at age 1 or so - she had a huge afro that was like 3x the size of her head. It was completely adorable. But she refuses to return to that hairstyle. ;_;

Sara R-C, Friday, 21 March 2008 19:13 (eighteen years ago)

I like the idea of Dan with the gun looking mean while John smokes disapprovingly.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 21 March 2008 19:30 (eighteen years ago)

i just spent a buttload of money on new sunglasses, but i can't find new glasses i like

remy bean, Friday, 21 March 2008 19:36 (eighteen years ago)

Those look great, remy!

Dan, plz explain the Ivy League while you're at it.

Sara R-C, Friday, 21 March 2008 19:40 (eighteen years ago)

If you get the picture, I don't see why you don't get the article. It's like Facebook with armies.

HI DERE, Friday, 21 March 2008 19:40 (eighteen years ago)

...so instead of poking someone, you crush them like a bug?

I see.

Sara R-C, Friday, 21 March 2008 19:42 (eighteen years ago)

Facebook with armies

Thanks, that's all I needed.

I get the picture because I just thought, "Oh, right, Vampire Weekend."

Ned Raggett, Friday, 21 March 2008 19:43 (eighteen years ago)

I mean surely the guy on the left IS in the band.

Dude in the middle with the blue sweater = me in high school.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 21 March 2008 19:43 (eighteen years ago)

Also, the easiest way to explain the Ivy League is as follows:

lol nerds with money

HI DERE, Friday, 21 March 2008 19:44 (eighteen years ago)

Ned, what are you doing in that picture, you time-traveling troublemaker.

Dan: the least nerdy person to go to Harvard ever?

Sara R-C, Friday, 21 March 2008 19:46 (eighteen years ago)

ha I wish

If you guys aren't watching America's Next Top Model, you are missing out on the utter treat and delight that is Fatima the Wonder Bitch. In the last episode, she PUT HER PUSSY ON ANOTHER GIRL'S FACE so that she could win a challenge.

HI DERE, Friday, 21 March 2008 20:06 (eighteen years ago)

All I can think of is the fake C&C Music Factory song from Fear of a Black Hat.

"COME PET THE PUSSY!
HEY, HEY, HEY!"

Ned Raggett, Friday, 21 March 2008 20:11 (eighteen years ago)

Well, clearly we are getting a TiVo just in time.

Sara R-C, Friday, 21 March 2008 20:11 (eighteen years ago)

Easter egg dying madness commencing in moments bump

Sara R-C, Friday, 21 March 2008 21:07 (eighteen years ago)

Ned Raggett, Friday, 21 March 2008 22:18 (eighteen years ago)

more high school shenanigans involving someone who has dated more than one of me, John and FB

HI DERE, Friday, 21 March 2008 22:19 (eighteen years ago)

I feel so left out ;_;

Sara R-C, Friday, 21 March 2008 22:20 (eighteen years ago)

No wait, I took dance classes with her, so CLOSE ENOUGH

Sara R-C, Friday, 21 March 2008 22:20 (eighteen years ago)

Once assembled, said Jim Deyerle, a junior at Rice who coordinated strategy for his team and now works on the game, “one of the commanders delivered Morpheus’s speech,” referring to the stirring oration from the second “Matrix” movie. “Then we brought out our laptops to sign more people up,” he said.

max, Friday, 21 March 2008 22:21 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, that made me o_O

HI DERE, Friday, 21 March 2008 22:22 (eighteen years ago)

I have yet to actually read the article, BUT the babysitter is going to be here soon, so maybe... later tonight?

Sara R-C, Friday, 21 March 2008 22:32 (eighteen years ago)
