my best friend called from her new home in brisbane, australia last night: HILARIOUS STUFF. she has never wanted kids, but since hooking up with latest boyfriend (who is by far best guy she's been with) she's gotten all cluckitycluck about babifying their relationship. so she's in australia supposedly to make money, and is staying with an old friend. said friend has two young children and a mutually unsupportive/resentful marriage.

don't have the paper yet. i didn't have enough points to graduate (360 required, i had 358) and fucked if i was going back to that hell hole. i'd already heard it was possible to get a waiver, but didn't know for sure. yesterday i got my official exemption and placed in graduate status.

paper thingy arrives end of april.

jesus christ the sense of RELIEF is amazing. like, it's truly and utterly over. i felt relieved before, at the end of class and shit but now it's official... man, i never EVER want to go back to uni for anything.

ha. I got my BA in the mail right after I started my first real job out of the military. I remember thinking it was great, I never had to go to school for anything again unless I wanted to. Next September I was in grad school.

Well, I don't want either kind of baked beans, so that's kind of neutral.

- People are rude in a singularly unentertaining and offensive way.

- It's insanely expensive to live here considering the quality of the real estate, and job salaries are not at the same level as they are in cities as or more expensive.

- The airport sucks, making it a total hassle to leave to visit friends and family or for F&F to come here to visit.

- It's much smaller and more provincial than it thinks it is.

- 75% of the awesome people you meet don't stay here because of the above issues.
