Yr welcome remy. I am totally sending good vibes your way. So far as I know this has never actually helped anyone, but you know... can't hurt.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 20 March 2008 05:52 (eighteen years ago)

The Rev indeed, Matos, many other good folks.

Going back to A Night at the Museum -- an important film, I seem to recall in my delirium-filled watching of it on a transcontinental flight, in that it provided proof that Mickey Rooney was still alive.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 20 March 2008 05:52 (eighteen years ago)

Hey, did anyone besides Sara download the song my band recorded off of I Make Music? I NEED VALIDATION

HI DERE, Thursday, 20 March 2008 14:08 (eighteen years ago)

before work bump

ytth, Thursday, 20 March 2008 15:20 (eighteen years ago)

At work bump.

Deflated this morning for a variety of reasons (being too crabby last night, friends in tough places right now, thinking back on a sad time three years back, work crunch). Such is life, but even so.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 20 March 2008 15:52 (eighteen years ago)

i had a knife-wielding psycho dream last night. nobody would believe me that there was a guy after me, until he killed a police officer's dog.

the knife-wielding psycho was none other than a college roommate (who struck me - in college - as a future potential knife-wielding psycho)

eesh

remy bean, Thursday, 20 March 2008 15:55 (eighteen years ago)

Hi ytt!

xpost It has a BANJO you guys!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 20 March 2008 15:59 (eighteen years ago)

Aw Ned. We <3 you. I hope your day improves. The "friends in tough" places thing sucks so much, especially if it is related to the divorcing couple. Because that shit NEVER ends. The good thing is that you don't have to be part of it if you don't want to and you are obviously great and dear.

remy - wow that sounds scary! And so does thinking "hmmm, my roommate seems like he could be a future knife-wielding psycho")

Sara R-C, Thursday, 20 March 2008 16:02 (eighteen years ago)

Yes, Dan song = very good, and should be heard!

The "friends in tough" places thing sucks so much, especially if it is related to the divorcing couple. Because that shit NEVER ends

Some of it is that, but other friends and their concerns are much on my mind too. I try not to say this in a taking-people's-burdens sense, more of it a wish that good thoughts expressed don't accidentally upset them. Which, believe it or not, is something I'm quite sensitive about!

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 20 March 2008 16:04 (eighteen years ago)

It does seem like a lot of people are in bad situations right now. I don't know if it is related to the economy sucking or what (well, the people losing their jobs probably is). But yeah - sometimes it is hard to know what to say.

I'm sending you a hug, Ned!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 20 March 2008 16:07 (eighteen years ago)

:( ned

remy bean, Thursday, 20 March 2008 16:12 (eighteen years ago)

Going to do homework despite the fact that my next class has not actually started yet bump

Sara R-C, Thursday, 20 March 2008 17:15 (eighteen years ago)

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOSER!

John Justen, Thursday, 20 March 2008 17:21 (eighteen years ago)

I imagine you saying that like Lil Jon.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 20 March 2008 17:27 (eighteen years ago)

John is just envious. He wishes HE could learn Dimensional Analysis for Meds.

I'm sure that's it.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 20 March 2008 17:51 (eighteen years ago)

John wants to learn Dimensional Analysis for DAT AZZ

HI DERE, Thursday, 20 March 2008 18:26 (eighteen years ago)

If he hasn't learned that by now, I don't hold out much hope for him.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 20 March 2008 18:33 (eighteen years ago)

Can we have a theme for every Friday, where people listen to a particular band's music and start threads about that band and revive every ILM thread on that band we can find?

Furthermore, can we start this tomorrow with Sisters of Mercy?

HI DERE, Thursday, 20 March 2008 18:47 (eighteen years ago)

I will follow along if you do this, goggle-eyed at all I haven't heard.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 20 March 2008 18:53 (eighteen years ago)

Oh! And I'm going out to dinner with A. tomorrow night and then afterward we are going to Cheapo to shop for c.d.s. So, really, perfect timing w/ your idea, Dan.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 20 March 2008 18:54 (eighteen years ago)

Furthermore, can we start this tomorrow with Sisters of Mercy?

You wise man. (The reissue of First and Last and Always is absolutely essential, BTW.)

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 20 March 2008 18:58 (eighteen years ago)

We need to be cheering up. Use this:

suzy, Thursday, 20 March 2008 19:10 (eighteen years ago)

hahaha suzy, that is awesome. I'm sending the link to my husband immediately; A. loves computer stuff AND rave stuff and I'm sure it will improve his afternoon.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 20 March 2008 19:27 (eighteen years ago)

Kids are now on their spring break ;_;

bump

Sara R-C, Thursday, 20 March 2008 20:28 (eighteen years ago)

dan, i missed this music link of yours. repeat link and i validate you by downloading, listening and praising your mad skillz.

my best friend called from her new home in brisbane, australia last night: HILARIOUS STUFF. she has never wanted kids, but since hooking up with latest boyfriend (who is by far best guy she's been with) she's gotten all cluckitycluck about babifying their relationship. so she's in australia supposedly to make money, and is staying with an old friend. said friend has two young children and a mutually unsupportive/resentful marriage.

her: {in fierce whisper} OH MY FUCKING GOD DUDE I AM NEVER HAVING ANY FUCKING KIDS EVER! LUKE CAN FORGET ABOUT IT!

Rubyredd, Thursday, 20 March 2008 20:34 (eighteen years ago)

oh, and yesterday i officially graduated.

Rubyredd, Thursday, 20 March 2008 20:34 (eighteen years ago)

frame the paper or it didn't happen

El Tomboto, Thursday, 20 March 2008 20:35 (eighteen years ago)

don't have the paper yet. i didn't have enough points to graduate (360 required, i had 358) and fucked if i was going back to that hell hole. i'd already heard it was possible to get a waiver, but didn't know for sure. yesterday i got my official exemption and placed in graduate status.

paper thingy arrives end of april.

Rubyredd, Thursday, 20 March 2008 20:39 (eighteen years ago)

jesus christ the sense of RELIEF is amazing. like, it's truly and utterly over. i felt relieved before, at the end of class and shit but now it's official... man, i never EVER want to go back to uni for anything.

Rubyredd, Thursday, 20 March 2008 20:41 (eighteen years ago)

i want to go back so bad

also, CONGRATULATIONS!

jergïns, Thursday, 20 March 2008 20:42 (eighteen years ago)

CONGRATULATIONS Rubyredd! It's crazy awesome to be done! (I dimly remember that.)

Sara R-C, Thursday, 20 March 2008 20:42 (eighteen years ago)

also lolz about your friend's friend and the kids. Kids are awesome and fun, but they can be super stressful. I'm always torn between telling people YES HAVE THEM NOW and NEVER HAVE THEM ARGH. (I wouldn't trade J and 4lex for anything, but I'm not going to lie about them driving me insane, either.)

Sara R-C, Thursday, 20 March 2008 20:44 (eighteen years ago)

ha. I got my BA in the mail right after I started my first real job out of the military. I remember thinking it was great, I never had to go to school for anything again unless I wanted to. Next September I was in grad school.

El Tomboto, Thursday, 20 March 2008 20:46 (eighteen years ago)

lol the link is still there on IMM but to completely confound ITR laziness I will repost it here:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/sraxgt

nb please do not let gentle ribbing keep you from telling me how awesome my song is

HI DERE, Thursday, 20 March 2008 20:49 (eighteen years ago)

And now I have my MS in Engineering Management that I got just last May I'm looking at starting an MPP next spring. These fucking reimbursement programs that come with these govt contractor jobs are just too sweet to pass up. What am I doing? What the fuck am I doing? I HATED school when they MADE me do it

El Tomboto, Thursday, 20 March 2008 20:50 (eighteen years ago)

dan when do I get to remix YOUR band

El Tomboto, Thursday, 20 March 2008 20:51 (eighteen years ago)
