I would choose SF because it is awesome.

full-time writing is lately becoming the kind of job you do from home anyway, the phone shlubs and nightly rewrite gang are the folks who have to show up in the office anymore, right?

if you were big into sports or videogames you could do full-time writing from just about anywhere

the food in SF is okay, not awesome.

DC is rapidly becoming an awesome food city (which it has been but mostly for a limited range of regional things, now you can get practically anything, see I DIED picture bloggityblog etc)

Writing game, from one vaguely in the know -- easy enough even to do from a soulless place like, oh, I dunno, Orange County, but face to face schmoozing with agents doubtless has its virtues. As it is most of the writing work I've gotten has been from out of the blue, so sometimes it's just a matter of 'presence,' in my case online.

Eh, I find my state university job (non-shitty, happily) gives me the chance to write more because I'm not carrying any work home from work -- and because it doesn't make work at home seem like that, because it's not like I'm working all day on writing. *shrug* Mileage, variance, etc.

I usually do the "pick your own mix" and also get some of the Awesome Nut & Chew bars. They charge a bunch more for shipping when it's warmer because they package everything so it stays cold - I don't know when the cutoff date for the higher costs is, though. She could always order extra right now and stick in the freezer for later.

Also one of the things I envy about living on the West Coast is that you can walk into a See's Candy and they always give you a free sample. LOVE THAT.

hello i am posting from the software exbibition hall in beautiful LAS VEGAS. yesterday ian and i walked 3 miles in the hot sun to find an in-n-out burger. it was delicious.

there is a creepy mall in my hotel that has a fake blue sky and fake sunlight. last night we ordered fried chicken room service because i got too drunk at the customer networking event at TAO nightclub to behave in public. but tonight we eat at lotus of siam.

not in my cocktail dress, but in a plain black normal dress. maybe i will wear the coctail dress tonight to the thai restaurant.
