ease the burden

W4LTER, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 08:44 (eighteen years ago)

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed
he was walking along the beach with the ITR.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand: one belonging
to him, and the other to the ITR.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.

He noticed that many times along the path of
his life there was only one set of footprints.

He also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he
questioned the ITR about it:

"ITR, you said that once I decided to follow
you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when
I needed you most you would leave me."

The ITR replied:

"My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

BUMP

tombot that's the most slappable jesus i've ever seen, he looks like he would wear a rat on his shoulder while he recited poetry downtown.

John Justen, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 15:37 (eighteen years ago)

i love these mornings where i get to wake up and go over to the computer to see what drunken hijinks i was up to late last night.

John Justen, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 15:38 (eighteen years ago)

GOOD WORK YOU GUYS!!!!

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 15:39 (eighteen years ago)

It is funny how, no matter what time I wake up, I never like to do actually get out of bed.

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 15:43 (eighteen years ago)

You all crack me up, though.

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 15:43 (eighteen years ago)

Blessings upon you, my children.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 16:00 (eighteen years ago)

HI DERE, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 16:24 (eighteen years ago)

HI DERE, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 16:25 (eighteen years ago)

HI DERE, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 16:48 (eighteen years ago)

WAIT YOU GUYS. HAVE YOU EVER NOTICED THAT NED HAS JESUS HAIR?

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 17:17 (eighteen years ago)

I think it's more "have you noticed that Jesus hair has a NED?"

HI DERE, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 17:18 (eighteen years ago)

So you're saying that praying to Ned will do us no good?!

This is truly ;_;

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 17:23 (eighteen years ago)

It'll do plenty of good.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 17:29 (eighteen years ago)

to your rampant EGO

sorry, EGGO

HI DERE, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 17:33 (eighteen years ago)

Maybe Ned can help my grades somehow.

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 17:34 (eighteen years ago)

How much better do you want than 100%????

HI DERE, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 17:34 (eighteen years ago)

Hey, I have a lot of papers due this week and a big test-out! There's no guarantee that I'll get good grades on those.

MAYBE I'LL FAIL, WHO KNOWS?!

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 17:37 (eighteen years ago)

JESUS HAIR KNOWS

HI DERE, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 17:37 (eighteen years ago)

The test-out is this mini-assessment thing, and I should practice on more people. WHY ARE YOU ALL TOO FAR AWAY FOR ME TO LISTEN TO YOUR LUNG AND BOWEL SOUNDS, HUH?!

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 17:38 (eighteen years ago)

Well that's my desire for lunch taken care of.

HI DERE, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 17:42 (eighteen years ago)

See, and if you were closer I could help you if you were on a diet. By grossing you out!

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 17:46 (eighteen years ago)

THRD BUMP

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 18:55 (eighteen years ago)

Another hour yet... bump

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 20:01 (eighteen years ago)

I'm sitting here trying to write a reflection paper, but mostly distracting myself by online shopping at Amazon.com because I have a gift certificate and some birthday money STILL...

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 20:01 (eighteen years ago)

nice

HI DERE, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 20:21 (eighteen years ago)

Ha, yeah, now I got distracted from shopping for myself by trying to sort what book I should get for Alex about BODY CHANGES and related info.

So I'm reading Amazon.com reviews, and the same books will get both "OMG THIS IS TOO MUCH INFORMATION FOR MY DELICATE LITTLE CHILD" and "OMG THIS BOOK WILL SCARE THEM AWAY FROM ANY KIND OF SEX THOUGHT FOREVER" reviews.

Meanwhile, I'm just trying to process the notion that my little guy who was once 4 and a half pounds in the NICU is going to have facial hair someday. WAHT

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 20:25 (eighteen years ago)

I still can't believe my little cousins are both in COLLEGE and one is GRADUATING this year.

HI DERE, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 20:32 (eighteen years ago)

yeah - it's CRAZY. I have a cousin who has graduated from college who I swear I think of as being in 8th grade.

The HE WAS MY TINY BABY thing is even more disorienting - if you can even imagine that!

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 20:45 (eighteen years ago)

"He was my tiny baby... now he has PUBIC HAIR"

HI DERE, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 20:47 (eighteen years ago)

I CAN'T EVEN GO THERE, DUDE

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 20:48 (eighteen years ago)

You're gonna have to someday!

Well okay, maybe not literally "go there", that would be incest. But it's gonna happen!

HI DERE, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 20:49 (eighteen years ago)

(this is the thread where I gloat about the fact that I don't live within smacking distance of my high school friends)
