the thing i will miss the most when i leave nz is our dog, bella. she is the funniest, smartest, weirdest, most hyper dog i've ever met.

Rubyredd, Thursday, 28 February 2008 09:13 (eighteen years ago)

what kind of dog is she? i dearly love dogs bump

estela, Thursday, 28 February 2008 10:38 (eighteen years ago)

three hour I hope the title is still there bump

Sara R-C, Thursday, 28 February 2008 13:51 (eighteen years ago)

xpost to estela - Kids are awesome and funny and relentless and exhausting and they will make you crazy and also make you super happy and also wake you up at awful times and also tell you that they love you in a very charming way that can't be imitated or beaten because they are SO sincere.

So make of that what you will. (I'm sure you know that all already anyway)

Sara R-C, Thursday, 28 February 2008 13:52 (eighteen years ago)

aw

HI DERE, Thursday, 28 February 2008 14:52 (eighteen years ago)

gross

John Justen, Thursday, 28 February 2008 15:23 (eighteen years ago)

not really, i just didn't want the thread title to break and i didn't have anything else to say

John Justen, Thursday, 28 February 2008 15:23 (eighteen years ago)

probably the #1 irrational motivation in this whole get a house deal is to have a yard and thus dog(s).

John Justen, Thursday, 28 February 2008 15:25 (eighteen years ago)

Dogs are cool! I have moments when I think we should have one. But the kid plus school thing is already overwhelming, and they are harder to leave at home if we want to travel. (Someday we're going to get to travel, right?)

Sara R-C, Thursday, 28 February 2008 16:08 (eighteen years ago)

Sometimes I kind of want to steal my in-laws daschund, Nena. Also white samoyeds are sooooooo gorgeous. And if someone can bring Sarge, my German Shepherd from when I was reeeeallly little, that would also be awesome.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 28 February 2008 16:16 (eighteen years ago)

BUT WE'RE NOT GETTING A DOG

(god it's like Multiple Personality Morning here, sorry)

Sara R-C, Thursday, 28 February 2008 16:16 (eighteen years ago)

If we got a dog it would die from neglect and being strangled by my wife.

HI DERE, Thursday, 28 February 2008 16:42 (eighteen years ago)

So J031 is allergic or she just hates dogs?

Sara R-C, Thursday, 28 February 2008 16:54 (eighteen years ago)

RR I very much want to hear about this dog.

Abbott, Thursday, 28 February 2008 17:19 (eighteen years ago)

She is allergic, ergo she never grew up with pets.

HI DERE, Thursday, 28 February 2008 17:31 (eighteen years ago)

dan--i met lupe fiasco last night

max, Thursday, 28 February 2008 17:39 (eighteen years ago)

he came and played a really short set at my school (co-sponsored by the radio station). hes a good guy, pretty funny, not "down-to-earth" necessarily but definitely not a jerk.

max, Thursday, 28 February 2008 17:40 (eighteen years ago)

Cool! Did he do "Little Weapon"?

HI DERE, Thursday, 28 February 2008 17:42 (eighteen years ago)

nah he only did like five songs--kick, push; superstar; cool; something from the new one that i didnt recognize; and daydreaming

max, Thursday, 28 February 2008 17:46 (eighteen years ago)

for abbott and estela:

i have hardly any photos of bella, and even less good ones, because she gets really shy when even she these four things: a camera, broom, vacuum cleaner, water bottle.

Rubyredd, Thursday, 28 February 2008 19:03 (eighteen years ago)

she's mastiff/staff/lab/X

Rubyredd, Thursday, 28 February 2008 19:03 (eighteen years ago)

What a great looking dog!

Oh, you're going to miss her...

Sara R-C, Thursday, 28 February 2008 19:09 (eighteen years ago)

Lupe should play "Little Weapon" everywhere he goes, that song is ferocious.

HI DERE, Thursday, 28 February 2008 19:50 (eighteen years ago)

28 minutes later

John Justen, Thursday, 28 February 2008 20:20 (eighteen years ago)

the dog(s) in question will be a german shepherd and an english setter

we may not have a house yet, but we know what dogs we'll put in it

John Justen, Thursday, 28 February 2008 20:22 (eighteen years ago)

re: dogs - do you have specific dogs in mind, or are those just the types of dogs you want? (wait, what kind of dog was your family dog when we were in high school? Also, how can you resist getting whatever kind of dog Caledonia's family has? I can't remember its name or type, just that it is a MUPPET DOG)

xpost I listened to that song on youtube and it was pretty awesome. Even though my Sound Sticks are still not working. ;_;

Sara R-C, Thursday, 28 February 2008 20:31 (eighteen years ago)

a) types of dogs
b) my family dogs have always been long-haired german shepherds
c) the muppet dog is named TUGBOAT, and is a portuguese water dog. they are amusing, but why buy the milk when you can borrow the dog for free? also they are $$$$$$$, apparently

John Justen, Thursday, 28 February 2008 20:35 (eighteen years ago)

german shepherds from good breeders are still pretty inexpensive because of their long-standing popularity due to being wicked awesome

John Justen, Thursday, 28 February 2008 20:36 (eighteen years ago)

haha, sorry about the barrage of questions there.

TUGBOAT! Yes. The name is also awesome. Honestly, though, "Portuguese water dog" sounds completely made up.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 28 February 2008 20:39 (eighteen years ago)

Also, I don't remember anything about your family dog other than it seemed like a GIANT.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 28 February 2008 20:40 (eighteen years ago)

Bear was a total giant. That dog was just HUGE. Zeus was big but still seemed to be dog-sized to me.

HI DERE, Thursday, 28 February 2008 20:45 (eighteen years ago)

Clearly I am making two dogs into ONE MEGA DOG. Maybe?

Sara R-C, Thursday, 28 February 2008 20:49 (eighteen years ago)

http://www.ummagurau.com/writing/video/forte/image89.gif

John's dog circa 1989.

HI DERE, Thursday, 28 February 2008 20:53 (eighteen years ago)

John's dog spoke in computer-generated hiragana-like barks?

See, I don't remember that.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 28 February 2008 20:55 (eighteen years ago)

Although I think that in 1989 I was not very well acquainted with John, other than "dude who drops off notebooks of poems to the lit. magazine, thereby creating a ton of extra work for me and everyone else on the staff."

Sara R-C, Thursday, 28 February 2008 20:56 (eighteen years ago)

(Also, "dude in Joseph" and "dude who is good friend with Dan.")

Sara R-C, Thursday, 28 February 2008 20:56 (eighteen years ago)

What about "dude who turned his hesher haircut into a preppy do with braids on the side not unlike H4nn4 H3tzl's"?

HI DERE, Thursday, 28 February 2008 21:08 (eighteen years ago)

Well, yes, but that was 1990.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 28 February 2008 21:29 (eighteen years ago)

EVERY TIME I READ A TUOMAS THREAD I FEEL LIKE I AM READING SOMETHING WRITTEN BY THE KIDS IN THE HALL CHARACTER THAT ASKED THE BUTCHER "HOW MUCH DOES MY HEAD WEIGH"

John Justen, Thursday, 28 February 2008 21:32 (eighteen years ago)

OVER AND OVER AND OVER

John Justen, Thursday, 28 February 2008 21:32 (eighteen years ago)

WHY DO HUMANS USUALLY HAVE TWO NIPPLES? AESTHETIC SYMMETRY?

remy bean, Thursday, 28 February 2008 21:33 (eighteen years ago)

ARE CORNROWS CALLED CORNROWS BECAUSE BLACK PEOPLE USED TO EAT A LOT OF CORN?

remy bean, Thursday, 28 February 2008 21:34 (eighteen years ago)

sometimes i worry that i am the only person on ILX who finds him COMPLETELY AGGRAVATING

John Justen, Thursday, 28 February 2008 21:35 (eighteen years ago)

i think it is largely the bullheaded attatchment to whatever bizarre idea has wandered through his thread today as absolute truth

John Justen, Thursday, 28 February 2008 21:37 (eighteen years ago)

thread head

or maybe not

John Justen, Thursday, 28 February 2008 21:38 (eighteen years ago)

STOP READING THAT THREAD AND BACK SLOWLY AWAY FOR A FEW MINUTES

BREATHE DEEPLY

RELAAAAAAX

Sara R-C, Thursday, 28 February 2008 21:38 (eighteen years ago)

If that doesn't work, you could go outside and scream. (First assess to make sure no customers are around)

Sara R-C, Thursday, 28 February 2008 21:39 (eighteen years ago)

I think you should gather all of the customers around, then scream "I AM A MANNEQUIN! HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWL!"

HI DERE, Thursday, 28 February 2008 21:51 (eighteen years ago)

I AM A MANNEQUIN! CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWN!

John Justen, Thursday, 28 February 2008 21:54 (eighteen years ago)

Please film the reactions of customers and post here thx

Sara R-C, Thursday, 28 February 2008 21:56 (eighteen years ago)
