whenever we go away our dog stays with this couple we know who love dogs more than anything and one time when i was picking him up the woman said to me, 'the day the dogs can talk is the day we go out of the dog minding business,' which made me very happy.

and miserable hyperbolic claims about being starving because they are quick to forget a repast and they have no faith that meals will appear if they don't put on a dramatic show first. our little dog often collapses near our chairs while we eat dinner and lies on the floor looking weak and deathly, sometimes weeping softly, then when we get up from the table he bounces to his feet and gallops into the kitchen to be fed, it is pretty pathetic.

what about the passive-aggressive 'nobody wants to play with me' routine? dog picks up ball, lays at your feet when you're elbows deep in some other activity (cooking, sex, television) and sighs repeatedly, occasionally nose-nudging the ball underfoot with super-audible exhalations of breath and fuzzy up-looking eyes.

that, verbalized, would lead me to punch a pet.

it is unending shocking disgracefulness.

the thing i will miss the most when i leave nz is our dog, bella. she is the funniest, smartest, weirdest, most hyper dog i've ever met.

not really, i just didn't want the thread title to break and i didn't have anything else to say

probably the #1 irrational motivation in this whole get a house deal is to have a yard and thus dog(s).

Dogs are cool! I have moments when I think we should have one. But the kid plus school thing is already overwhelming, and they are harder to leave at home if we want to travel. (Someday we're going to get to travel, right?)

Sometimes I kind of want to steal my in-laws daschund, Nena. Also white samoyeds are sooooooo gorgeous. And if someone can bring Sarge, my German Shepherd from when I was reeeeallly little, that would also be awesome.

c) the muppet dog is named TUGBOAT, and is a portuguese water dog. they are amusing, but why buy the milk when you can borrow the dog for free? also they are $$$$$$$, apparently

german shepherds from good breeders are still pretty inexpensive because of their long-standing popularity due to being wicked awesome

Bear was a total giant. That dog was just HUGE. Zeus was big but still seemed to be dog-sized to me.
