xpost Hey I love Canada; I just didn't know other people did!

jessie - are you changing jobs or is your boss running away?

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 16:40 (eighteen years ago)

my boss is changing jobs.

jessie monster, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 17:27 (eighteen years ago)

Is she joining the writing staff for "The New Adventures of Old Christine"?

HI DERE, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 17:30 (eighteen years ago)

omg lol.

no she is going to be one of the people who shakes out alumni's bodies for money at your alma mater, Dan.

jessie monster, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 17:37 (eighteen years ago)

So expect a personal call from her soon, Dan.

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 17:54 (eighteen years ago)

(lol I would love to listen in to THAT phone call)

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 17:54 (eighteen years ago)

"Oh, are you the one who named her tits online?"

HI DERE, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 18:03 (eighteen years ago)

SHE JUST SAID "UNFORCH" TO ME LIKE THREE TIMES IN A ROW SO I AM SURE IT WOULD INCLUDE THAT WORD.

jessie monster, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 18:04 (eighteen years ago)

on my plane flight back to LA i sat next to a woman with – remarkably similar - irritating capacities. choice quotes:

girl: "omigod, omigod, i'm totally gonna be that weird chick who sits next to you on the plane all the time and won't shut up, lol" ('lol' pronounced 'loll')

AND

girl: "so you look like you've been partying hard, havencha? hardy party all ni-ight long. good for you, good for you, it's a tough world out there and you gotta do what you gotta do. what kind of party was it?"
me: "I didn't go to a party. I'm just pretty exhausted."
girl: "oh, i went to a party too. still on that tip, still aaaall on that tip. got a little crazy with my girls, okay i'm kidding, got a lot crazy. put some things in my body i shouldn't've if you know what i'm saying. ha! oh, i am totally that weird girl that talks to you on the plane. nota buena: i don't mean sex-stuff in my body. just a little blow and a lot, and i do mean a lot, of wine. have you had pinot grigio before?

me: (asleep, over colorado)
girl: hey buddy, hey buddy, i'm sorry to wake you up, but i wanted to tell you i've never had a plane friend like this before. i didn't wake you, did I?
me: no, whatever.
girl: okay, good, what book are you holding? "sometimes a great notion?" is that like freakonomics? I liked that book. i'm a reader too. you probably want to get back to it so i'll stop talking. i'm just doin' what i gotta do. i'm bothering you this whole flight, just a crazy girl on the plane who won't stop talking ...

remy bean, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 18:06 (eighteen years ago)

When did you punch her in the neck?

HI DERE, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 18:10 (eighteen years ago)

Sometimes there is no percentage in being able to hear.

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 18:15 (eighteen years ago)

the guy on the other side of me was pretty choice companionship as well:

super-dumb stereotypical frat boy who looked like a kid brother to kal penn, began every sentence with 'dude' and end it with 'shit' and cried during 'mr. magorium's wonder emporium' before trying to talk to me about the similiaries between fight club and great gatsby. totally the most trash-mouthed person i have ever met. AND:

frat guy: dude, hey, you look like a guy who reads. you ever heard of a book by a jewish guy named chuck ... something that begins with k, about music and society and shit?
me: "sex, drugs, and cocoa puffs?"
frat guy: yeah! you heard of that! holy shit i can't believe it. you like it?
me: it's okay, i didn't love it.
frat guy: (unbuckling seatbelt to stand and turn to the row behind him) "ben, dude, hey ben! ben-i-o! yo, dude, this guy sitting next to me read the book about music and society and stuff"
ben(?): (gales of laughter) interspersed with "fucking ironic, bro"

remy bean, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 18:18 (eighteen years ago)

You shouhld have swapped seats with one of them and let them fuck.

HI DERE, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 18:20 (eighteen years ago)

i actually thought of that, but i was afraid i'd try to claw my way through the window

remy bean, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 18:22 (eighteen years ago)

I bet the people on either side of you had sex in the airport bathroom after the flight. with ben.

you guys are lucky I don't spend all day transcribing what she says into ILX.

jessie monster, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 18:22 (eighteen years ago)

lol xpost.

jessie monster, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 18:22 (eighteen years ago)

Between jessie's boss and the people remy met on the airplane, I'm feeling like maybe I should just stay home forever and be thankful to be doing that.

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 18:59 (eighteen years ago)

Discovery news is probably the second-best news site on the internet.

jessie monster, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 19:34 (eighteen years ago)

my seatmate on the flight this morning had a moment after we landed: "Hey man, I'm sorry. Sorry I bumped your knee. I tried not to, but it's tight in here, y'know? Anyway, my apologies." Uhh, okay. it wasn't a big deal, dude. shut up already.

jergïns, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 20:09 (eighteen years ago)

I haaaate flying.

jessie monster, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 20:16 (eighteen years ago)

nothing good can come of being trapped in a metal tube in the air with about four square inches of space per person.

jessie monster, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 20:17 (eighteen years ago)

I'll have you know that you guys are making me want to avoid air travel forever.

xpost What is the best one, then?

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 20:17 (eighteen years ago)

i got bumped to first class when i flew to italy last year and i didnt want to get off the plane

max, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 20:18 (eighteen years ago)

free booze does wonders to make you enjoy a flight

max, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 20:18 (eighteen years ago)

english pravda.ru of course.

every time first class upgrades are available I am a cheapskate and don't get it and then sorely regret it.

jessie monster, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 20:19 (eighteen years ago)

yeah i dont think it makes a huge difference for like cross-country flights but if youre going to like JAPAN from the east coast id take advantage! you sleep better and feel better when you get off the plane

max, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 20:23 (eighteen years ago)

I really need to have more money so that going places isn't so wildly unpleasant.

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 20:23 (eighteen years ago)

"I might have gotten a little cum on your pants in the process. My bad."

If I get hired they are paying for my flight so I may be stuck. but I might need to explain that I can't do a two and a half hour flight without being all "OH MY GOD GET ME OFF OF THIS PLANE."

jessie monster, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 20:27 (eighteen years ago)

I usually prefer to have a direct flight, regardless of how many hours it is, but that might just be my dread of trying to entertain two kids in an airport.

When I went to Japan, we took three flights, as in 1996 there was no direct Minneapolis-Narita trip. Every freaking flight had Ace Ventura: Pet Detective as the in-flight film. NOT GOOD

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 20:39 (eighteen years ago)

haha hi dere

jergïns, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 20:55 (eighteen years ago)

John Justen, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 22:40 (eighteen years ago)

it appears i made up some interesting and subjective tags on last.fm though

John Justen, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 22:41 (eighteen years ago)

Nice to see that you've joined the world of the conscious, John.

anybody seen TEKKON KINKREET?

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 01:21 (eighteen years ago)

i don't even know what language that is! doesn't mean i don't want to see it but are you speaking klingon?

Let's slander Lingbert, in hopes that he'll post here again

jergïns, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 03:28 (eighteen years ago)

Tom, I have no idea what you are talking about. (Then again, I don't get out much.)

I just watched some footage of John McCain's speech from tonight. Does his wife always look like she's possessed? I mean, she'd be attractive if it didn't look like she had no pupils or irises.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 04:29 (eighteen years ago)

Also, I just finally found a moment to look at John's last.fm tags and really, they should be enjoyed by all. I have no idea what most of them mean, but if you get a chance, go look.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 04:33 (eighteen years ago)

GOAT EYE MCCAIN

lxy, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 04:42 (eighteen years ago)

I am very sober and going to spend a boring night working on homework and reconciling a liquor store checkbook. I dare you to find a more deadening evening plan than that.

xpost to remy - you're always welcome at the ITR last.fm, I am SURE

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 04:53 (eighteen years ago)
