Good question about lxy's mind. (I hope whatever was wrong is better).

I want to see 30 Days of Night, but I'm too skeeeered. I was thinking that I could read the graphic novel and get the general idea instead. What didn't you like about it?

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 12 February 2008 23:38 (eighteen years ago)

Also - what a cool gift!

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 12 February 2008 23:38 (eighteen years ago)

I got A. a Valentine's Day present, but it is pretty boring. It's a DVD: The Simpson's Movie.

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 12 February 2008 23:39 (eighteen years ago)

it totally relied on blood for scary effect, no lolz, and totally empty/predictable story line. just nothing at all original or new. even the vampires were totally boring and unoriginal. and the logic is pretty shit - the whole premise of them lasting 30 days is bullshit and makes no sense, considering the situation they're in. wait till it comes out on dvd.

if you haven't seen no country for old men, go see that instead. it's fantastic, and way more disturbing.

Rubyredd, Tuesday, 12 February 2008 23:44 (eighteen years ago)

fuck knows why i even let myself be convinced to go see it - i HATE horror movies, and have no stomach for them. i really like action horror like the blade movies (yes i loved all three, and i don't care how shit everyone said the last one was), and i like super violent movies like kill bill but plain old horror just freaks me out.

i had to rent the lake house to watch when i got home, just so i could sleep.

Rubyredd, Tuesday, 12 February 2008 23:46 (eighteen years ago)

I liked no country old man. It was good. I also saw Superbad the other night -- why the fuk didn't i see that al cine??? Easily the best character was the crepey dude who gives them a lift to that party.

W4LTER, Tuesday, 12 February 2008 23:46 (eighteen years ago)

whatever's wrong with our lxy, i can tell you it's work-related. because in her personal life she just found out today that she gets to go to montreal for a week's vacation, two weeks from tomorrow.

jergïns, Tuesday, 12 February 2008 23:49 (eighteen years ago)

I saw Cloverfield the other day too, I liked it. Except there was this mother who brought her tribe of little shitheads along to the film with her, they sat behind us and talked the whole way through.

W4LTER, Tuesday, 12 February 2008 23:50 (eighteen years ago)

I don't see scary movies very often because they freak me out. Cloverfield was pretty fun, though. No kids in the theater I saw it in; only two other people, in fact!

I also usually don't see movies in the theater because it's expensive and if I'm going to go out with someone, I'd usually rather interact with them than watch something.

I think I'm becoming the Grumpy Old Mom.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 00:58 (eighteen years ago)

My 9 year old just advanced from white belt to yellow belt in tae kwon do bump

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 02:33 (eighteen years ago)

that's bad ass, my friend was a yellow belt in HIGH SCHOOL.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 02:55 (eighteen years ago)

haha, if you met Alex, the last thing you would think of is "bad ass." He just started earlier than your high school friend.

On the other hand, the yellow belts have to spar and I'm thinking that sounds kind of scary. (repeating to myself, "I WILL NOT BE AN OVERPROTECTIVE MOTHER, I WILL NOT BE AN OVERPROTECTIVE MOTHER...")

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 03:06 (eighteen years ago)

lol you lost your mind

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 05:14 (eighteen years ago)

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 07:08 (eighteen years ago)

I totally want to watch whatever that is, but I saw the word "zombie" on it and I suppose I should wait until after J is in kindergarten...

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 16:47 (eighteen years ago)

2nd wave of responses to my Chicago albums poll proving that, as we suspected, ILM really doesn't like to have fun.

John Justen, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 17:56 (eighteen years ago)

Yet, paradoxically, reading those last anti-fun comments is kinda fun.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 18:10 (eighteen years ago)

lolz at ILM dourfaces

HI DERE, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 19:38 (eighteen years ago)

HI DERE, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 19:45 (eighteen years ago)

lxy, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 21:19 (eighteen years ago)

lxy, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 21:20 (eighteen years ago)

HI DERE, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 21:20 (eighteen years ago)

HI DERE, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 21:50 (eighteen years ago)

they will salt you to death in the best of ways

jergïns, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 21:57 (eighteen years ago)

I never buy those anymore because once I start eating them, I WILL NOT STOP UNTIL THEY ARE GONE.

I do that with Cheetos, too.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 22:00 (eighteen years ago)

i think i might love them.

estela, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 22:07 (eighteen years ago)

what is the worst way to be salted to death.

estela, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 22:07 (eighteen years ago)

you do xpost

John Justen, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 22:08 (eighteen years ago)

what is the worst way to be salted to death.

-- estela

that reminds of a dumb joke from when i was a kid:

what is the definition of pain?

an ant, sliding down a razor blade, using his balls as brakes, and landing in a packet of salt and vinegar chips.

Rubyredd, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 22:10 (eighteen years ago)

ant balls is something i have never considered.

estela, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 22:25 (eighteen years ago)

now i am going to complain about valentine's day. i don't really like it, it depresses me a little bit. it all seems so unimaginative and desperate and exploitative, people clutching roses that will never open and eating terrible set menu dinners.

estela, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 22:36 (eighteen years ago)

I will celebrate Valentine's Day by going to my nursing class. WHEEE

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 22:38 (eighteen years ago)

my girlfriend is celebrating valentines day by djing a gallery party while i have class

max, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 22:39 (eighteen years ago)

valentine's day is horrible and i would hate this one with especial vigor if i didn't have the three Ls going for me thursday night: lxy, lingbert, lost.

jergïns, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 22:42 (eighteen years ago)

AND LIQUOR

jergïns, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 22:42 (eighteen years ago)

estela, I am with you on the flowers, though (THEY WILL DIE!) - and we never go out on the actual day because restaurants are too busy. (Uh, actually, we almost never even manage to go out for dinner on our anniversary, either; Other Stuff always comes up).

I think our mutual loathing of Valentine's Day was one of the things that A. and I first talked about when we met. V-Day was coming up and we were like, ARGH I HATE THAT DAY. I left for an event for the weekend and got back to find that he had left me a card on my door. I think it was a homemade card, made with black glue. ("Dries to a bright neon color!" Neon... black? wtf)

I reciprocated by making a National Grapefruit Day card for him and slipping it under his door.

I'm pretty sure these cards are somewhere in our house now.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 22:43 (eighteen years ago)

Also, we don't really hate Valentine's Day anymore, but I think we just don't care about it much. National Grapefruit Month should get more attention.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 22:44 (eighteen years ago)

I INSIST THAT YOU ALL HAVE VALENTINE'S DAY MEALS CONSISTING OF BUGLES, CHEETOS, AND GRAPEFRUIT

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 22:59 (eighteen years ago)

MAIL DAN BUGLES CHEETOS poop AND GRAPEFRUIT!
