btw ppl at Travelocity are fucking stupid
in trying to change the date of our flight from Taipei to Tokyo by one day, one person told me there would be a total cost (including fare difference) of $686 dollars (which sucks, but is within the realm of possibility)
she transferred me to the department who issues tickets, who told me they were going to charge me $3300+ per person because they have to reissue the entire trip
this was after spending 45 minutes on hold waiting for people to chase down information

No, I said "I'm not doing that, thank you" and hung up without giving them any credit card information, so I'm not getting charged for anything; even if they tried with the card I used, the transaction would be declined.
Now, what I suspect was SUPPOSED to happen is that they were supposed to refund the original trip and then book the new one at the new price with a net change of $686 but a) I've never had to do something that convoluted when changing a flight before, and b) the woman I was talking to was incompetent in communicating to the point where I would not trust her to change a fast food order, let alone an expensive plane ticket.
