aero likes to talk about how Sisters of Mercy became terrible when they started releasing albums; I maintain that they became different and that this moody, atmopsheric, thumping song is a fantastic example of why they shouldn't be written off. most of this stuff seems to me to be about submerging yourself in stasis so that the initial adrenaline rush washes over you in continuous waves mixed in with shifting into a mindset where you are really focusing on minute shifts in the pattern sequencing rather than the overall structure, which can come across very easily as two measures of drum pattern repeated for 10 minutes
