almost had my second panic attack last night, but i kept it down with steady constant breathing & four hours of dull reading. hard to sleep, though.

That really sucks, remy, and I'm sorry. I had panic attacks when I was pregnant the first time. Do you know what is causing them/setting them off, or is it just random?

i don't have enough work to tide me until my job in august, and so i really have to leave LA. i was planning on sticking it out here through february, crashing with relatives in SF, and heading home for family in MA/RI from april – august. but then i realized i am probably do not have enough money to make it through february, so i called parents and asked if they'd mind if i came home earlier. they were really really unreceptive, so now i don't know where i'm going.

that sucks, remy. it's a horrible feeling to think you can't come home to your family, i know what that's like. the breathing thing with panic attacks really does help, and it's good to be able to figure out ways to manage them that are non-medical. for me, getting out and taking a walk really helps as well.

For me it was the slow breathing thing that helped, but it was still hard to relax enough to sleep. So, so frustrating and awful.

Your troubles remind me -- I recently found out this guy who I've really disliked (fairly openly - and for several reasons)for a long time got kicked out of home when he was 18 by his super well-off parents. They, apparently, just told him they didn't want a bar of him anymore and to make his own way. It made me feel really bad :(

I have one! I use it to transfer old videotapes to DVD and traumatize people with them. Also, to tape cartoons for the kids sometimes.

i kept hearing about this 2grls 1 cup thing awhile ago, without actually seeing a description of it anywhere. then my two male flatmates asked me if i'd seen it, and insisted that i watch it, without explanation. so i did. wow. sara, it's fucking gross and awful, although it didn't make me actually gag (search youtube for viewer reactions - HILARIOUS).

i'm with jessie on 'the ring': i hate horror movies, but i perversely sat through that one. the bit where naomi watts' character finds the girl at the bottom of that well, it seemed like there was going to be a 'happy' ending... then there was the actual ending, which distressed me a great deal. i really can't stomach that shit.

I almost never watch horror movies anymore. I kind of miss them, but at the same time it's like my tolerance is super low now.

Maybe I should watch Ringu in Japanese without translation/subtitles; I would only understand a few words...
