here's my current logic:

I have no idea what food is being prepared so I need to get a mix of reds and whites

there are 4 guaranteed ppl, plus 1 floater and 2 potentials (a friend is going with a couple who is planning their own picnic; friend will definitely join us and couple might)

so I am planning on 3 reds, 3 whites with the expectation that 2 will be unopened

also thinking pinot noir, cab sauv and shiraz vs sauv blanc, viognier, gewuertztraminer

cant help you too much because i have traded in my potential wine skills to hone my fancy beer skills long ago

I think that sounds fine, except that usually gewuertztraminer (or however the hell you spell it) is almost always so sweet that it makes me want to hurl. So pick something else.

been worried a little about my cat, too. her eating habits have been pretty up and down and she's been sleeping more, but i think maybe she's still figuring out the new environment, and i'm over-thinking stuff as usual. anyway, sorry bout your cat. it's so easy sometimes to be callous or brusk, "it's just the damn cat, she'll be fine" or etc, but as soon as somethings wrong, they've run away, you realize just how much you care about the little weirdos.

anyway, my first week of school was really fun and i'm not sick anymore, so wahoo!

haha already kinda regretting the deep thoughts about pet ownership portion of that post but anyway

tbh even if my wife wasn't allergic to everything with fur I wouldn't own a pet because of how terrible it is when they die

but the "better to have loved and lost" cliche is true though. pets are a joy about 95% of the time

this my life now. "uggggh i think i'm going to bed", "but it's 8:30!"

6am, commute, school, commute, work, no time, sleep?, and so on.

i told myself i'd study straight after work but instead i'm drinking whiskey on ilx

I went to bed absurdly early last night and am now up at 4:30 in the morning on a non-work day. THIS IS NOT COOL, PEOPLE!!!

nothing better than being stuck behind an accident on an isolated section of an interstate with no hope of escape for 2.75 hours

oh, except for getting 3 hours of sleep, rushing into work for an 8:30 AM conference call with ppl in Bangalore only to discover that over the weekend ppl decided to move the call to 11:00 PM
