I don't know; every time I go there I feel like there are vast numbers more houses. And yet there's still no place I want to GO. It's weird.

(but Northfield is smaller, even with the college populations in town, so there's my basis of comparison)

Wikipedia says the population of Hastings was 18, 204 at the 2000 census.

If the teen pregnancy rate is as high as it was when we were in high school, I'm sure they've broken 20K!

I got LOST in Hastings the last time I was there because there were about a bazillion new houses up 15th St past Pleasant. It was very confusion-making.

It seems like it is expanding that way most, but getting lost, still LOL.

My parents are now just off of Pleasant, where it used to be a BIG FIELD. They've lived there since 2002, and I can't even manage to learn their new address.

Also, some of the houses that are being built are insanely large. Heather pointed one out to me that is supposed to be 10,000 square feet. CRAZY

Well, you need that in Hastings.

The only legitimate reasons I can think of to own a 10,000 square foot home:

1) You have 18 children.
2) You are ballin'.

Instead of 18 children; 1,800 pot plants. I bet it is warm in the pot houses.
