John Justen, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:02 (eighteen years ago)

let's do our best to bump it to #1

Rubyredd, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:03 (eighteen years ago)

ITR deserves it

Rubyredd, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:03 (eighteen years ago)

really really deserves it

Rubyredd, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:03 (eighteen years ago)

We have left a bruised and battered Aeon Flux Top Level in our wake, but our next adversary, I Love Cricket, is wily and tenacious.

John Justen, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:05 (eighteen years ago)

eh, just find eels.jpg and post it up there

HI DERE, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:06 (eighteen years ago)

whoa ilx just ate my post!

Rubyredd, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:06 (eighteen years ago)

or was it the wiley cricketers???

Rubyredd, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:06 (eighteen years ago)

it was the EELS

HI DERE, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:08 (eighteen years ago)

i got bitten by an eel when i was a kid

Rubyredd, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:09 (eighteen years ago)

xpost to Taliskertalk.

I bought a bottle on special the other day -- I was filled with joy.

W4LTER, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:18 (eighteen years ago)

I think I'm just going to establish right here that Talisker is obviously the official single malt scotch of the Idiot Thread Repository.

John Justen, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:23 (eighteen years ago)

We should probably start working on an endorsement deal, payable in scotch.

John Justen, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:23 (eighteen years ago)

so my Talisker audit thread is a good idea, then

HI DERE, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:25 (eighteen years ago)

Obv., although I'm feeling ;_; because I know I will be the last person to post.

Sara R-C, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:29 (eighteen years ago)

Must find more occasions to try scotch. (Or AN occasion, even.)

Sara R-C, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:29 (eighteen years ago)

Here's one:

IT'S MONDAY

HI DERE, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:31 (eighteen years ago)

I ate a jellied eel when i was a kid

xposts ._.

stet, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:32 (eighteen years ago)

that sounds nasty...?

HI DERE, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:32 (eighteen years ago)

AND it's freaking cold! AND I have to go to Hastings to night! xposts

Sara R-C, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:33 (eighteen years ago)

stet... WHY did you eat jellied eel?

I ate eel in Japan, but it was not jellied.

Sara R-C, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:35 (eighteen years ago)

I love that we're working up to some sort of T/S eel vs. jellied eel flameout here.

John Justen, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:37 (eighteen years ago)

there is a hastings in NZ. it is small and shitty, but warm in winter.

Rubyredd, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:37 (eighteen years ago)

Just trying to keep you entertained, John. xpost

Our Hastings is medium size, shitty, and freezing cold in winter.

Sara R-C, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:38 (eighteen years ago)

I lived near a Hastings Point, nice warm beachy goodtimes place

W4LTER, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:39 (eighteen years ago)

Is Hastings "medium-sized" nowadays????? Has the population broken 20K yet?

HI DERE, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:42 (eighteen years ago)

I don't know; every time I go there I feel like there are vast numbers more houses. And yet there's still no place I want to GO. It's weird.

Sara R-C, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:43 (eighteen years ago)

(but Northfield is smaller, even with the college populations in town, so there's my basis of comparison)

Sara R-C, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:44 (eighteen years ago)

Wikipedia says the population of Hastings was 18, 204 at the 2000 census.

If the teen pregnancy rate is as high as it was when we were in high school, I'm sure they've broken 20K!

Sara R-C, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:45 (eighteen years ago)

They're probably pushing 30K at this point!

I got LOST in Hastings the last time I was there because there were about a bazillion new houses up 15th St past Pleasant. It was very confusion-making.

HI DERE, Monday, 14 January 2008 22:26 (eighteen years ago)

It seems like it is expanding that way most, but getting lost, still LOL.

My parents are now just off of Pleasant, where it used to be a BIG FIELD. They've lived there since 2002, and I can't even manage to learn their new address.

Sara R-C, Monday, 14 January 2008 22:36 (eighteen years ago)

Also, some of the houses that are being built are insanely large. Heather pointed one out to me that is supposed to be 10,000 square feet. CRAZY

Sara R-C, Monday, 14 January 2008 22:41 (eighteen years ago)

Well, you need that in Hastings.

HI DERE, Monday, 14 January 2008 22:44 (eighteen years ago)

10,000 square foot houses in suburbs = PEOPLE ARE DOUCHEBAGS

John Justen, Monday, 14 January 2008 22:44 (eighteen years ago)

Imagine the number of cats you could keep in a house that big!

Sara R-C, Monday, 14 January 2008 22:44 (eighteen years ago)

10,000 square foot houses in suburbs anywhere = PEOPLE ARE DOUCHEBAGS

John Justen, Monday, 14 January 2008 22:45 (eighteen years ago)

Oh, I'm totally going to say that to my mom; she won't leave her own house for a week...

Sara R-C, Monday, 14 January 2008 22:45 (eighteen years ago)

haha XPOST

Sara R-C, Monday, 14 January 2008 22:45 (eighteen years ago)

it's a "delicacy" in London. It's 'orrible.

stet, Monday, 14 January 2008 22:50 (eighteen years ago)

stet, I hope you mean jellied eel, not cats that live in huge houses.

At least I think I hope that. Because... yuck.

Sara R-C, Monday, 14 January 2008 22:56 (eighteen years ago)

i haven't eat any cats ever *_*

stet, Monday, 14 January 2008 22:57 (eighteen years ago)

The only legitimate reasons I can think of to own a 10,000 square foot home:

1) You have 18 children.
2) You are ballin'.

HI DERE, Monday, 14 January 2008 22:57 (eighteen years ago)

There was a hard-hitting article in the Strib a week or two ago about IS THE LARGE SUBURBAN MCMANSION NEXT DOOR GROWING POT IN IT?

Instead of 18 children; 1,800 pot plants. I bet it is warm in the pot houses.
