See, now I have fallen ill. ITR HAS THE PLAGUE!

I have a mild cold, but calling it the plague would be pretty extreme.

The tooth thing gets me; I fear and despise dentists. So afraid of having a root canal! Hell, I hate to even get my teeth cleaned. The SCRAPING! I have to go at the end of the month. ;_;

Of course everyone tells me that "root canals aren't really that bad," so maybe I'm just freaked about nothing. estela, I am counting on you to tell the truth here.

ilx is spreading germs or something - i feel sick! i've been having these intense stomach cramps for about an hour, and i need to get to sleep cuz i got an early class, dammit.

possibly it is all psychosomatic, since every time i think about school i feel like vomiting, my heart races and i can't breathe. if i can actually get one brain to work over the next five weeks, i will finally be done with stupid school FOREVER. but if i keep up this trend of being a complete retard then i am truly truly fucked.

so today i got given an assignment for a media studies class i'm doing. i have to pick one of the key concepts we've looked at (eg. signification, discourse, hegemony, ideology, representation, postmodernism etc.) and apply it to a media text (eg. tv show, film, magazine, internet etc.). so i've decided to do...... postmodernism and wayne's world!!

there is only one wayne's world thread on ilx. i am disappointed. i need help with my homework!

just in a quick google search today i actually found some pretty good academic articles which use wayne's world as an example of postmodernism in film. it's only a short essay, so i need to focus on maybe 3 scenes from the movie, and the most obvious one is the product-placement bit. any suggestions for others? i haven't seen it in years, and the video store didn't have it today.

I saw Wayne's World so long ago that I barely remember it... I'm sorry. Maybe John or FB will be of some help. When is your essay due?

Not sure I ever actually saw this movie, so I will be of little help.

Apparently it wasn't hugely memorable as a film; I think I saw it in college, but I can't remember anything about it other than the scene where they re-enact the opening sequence of Laverne and Shirley. And that might have been Wayne's World 2. (Although... WAS there a Wayne's World 2?)
