All of these problems can be corrected.

John Justen, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 18:35 (eighteen years ago)

I appreciate your offer of help, but I'm afraid I will have to decline at this time.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 19:34 (eighteen years ago)

I reserve the right to change my mind tomorrow night at around 6:30, though, because that's when I'm going back to do the damn eye dilation.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 21:47 (eighteen years ago)

COLD COLD COLD. Our furnace was being persnickety all of last night. I had to cuddle my dog for warmth.

suzy, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 22:01 (eighteen years ago)

Ugh, I think our heat was FINE and I was still freezing all night. And I was pulling out all the stops; making/drinking hot tea, wearing multiple layers, lying under a billion blankets, and I even heated one of the corn cozies and put it by my feet in the bed. STILL COLD!

More aggravating, A. seemed fine and was blissfully sleeping the entire time I was doing all of this.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 22:13 (eighteen years ago)

sara why are they dilating your eyes? and how do they do it?

Rubyredd, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 23:23 (eighteen years ago)

also: this is totally random, but no point in starting a thread, but i was watching "this film has yet to be rated" last night, and there's a great line from michael tucker ('gunner palace') about ratings. he says how you can't rate reality, and that if people can't deal with it they shouldn't send other people to war. great documentary, btw.

Rubyredd, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 23:26 (eighteen years ago)

It's part of a "complete eye exam" and they use these nasty drops that STING like mad. And then of course your eyes are dilated and so don't respond to the influx of light, so everything seems insanely bright for a while. I totally hate it.

Apparently they are perfecting a new way to see into the eye with a fancy machine, but we don't have that yet in Northfield. ;_; On the bright side, they no longer puff air into eyes like they used to. (I never understood that one at all.)

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 23:36 (eighteen years ago)

Hmmmmm, so I should add that to my Netflix queue, too... thanks for the recommendation. I kind of wish I could take a year off from all of life just to watch movies, read books, and listen to music. I need to catch up!

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 23:37 (eighteen years ago)

i also watched 'fast food nation' which i'd heard bad reviews of, but i liked it.

Rubyredd, Thursday, 3 January 2008 00:06 (eighteen years ago)

I'm kind of curious about that, but fear that it will drive me to want to eat fast food instead of having the intended effect.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 3 January 2008 01:21 (eighteen years ago)

no way... esp at the end, when there's an extended scene of exactly what goes on, on a kill floor.

Rubyredd, Thursday, 3 January 2008 01:41 (eighteen years ago)

Sara grew up on a farm, though. I mean, once you've sledgehammered one cow, you've sledgehammered them all.

John Justen, Thursday, 3 January 2008 01:42 (eighteen years ago)

Don't listen to John; he was very nearly at the wrong end of my sledgehammer on many occasions.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 3 January 2008 01:48 (eighteen years ago)

But he kind of thrives on that sort of thing, so don't feel bad for him.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 3 January 2008 01:49 (eighteen years ago)

hi everybody. happy new year!

lxy, Thursday, 3 January 2008 02:37 (eighteen years ago)

YAHOO HI DERE

John Justen, Thursday, 3 January 2008 02:43 (eighteen years ago)

YAHOO the cry of happiness not the email service HI DERE the greeting not the poster

John Justen, Thursday, 3 January 2008 02:53 (eighteen years ago)

tru confession:

in my head i always read HI DERE as HI, DEAR even though i know that's now how it sounds nor what it means. nevertheless the wrong way makes me happy (as in YAHOO).

lxy, Thursday, 3 January 2008 03:34 (eighteen years ago)

bump botw

El Tomboto, Thursday, 3 January 2008 04:03 (eighteen years ago)

HI, DEAR is kind of sweet, actually. Awesome!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 3 January 2008 04:35 (eighteen years ago)

I am about 50 percent convinced to register "HI DEAR" as my new primary username.

John Justen, Thursday, 3 January 2008 05:32 (eighteen years ago)

you should do it

lxy, Thursday, 3 January 2008 06:05 (eighteen years ago)

(now what percent convinced are you?)

lxy, Thursday, 3 January 2008 06:05 (eighteen years ago)

You can't change it, can you? You have to make a whole new account, don't you? fuggit.

Autumn Almanac, Thursday, 3 January 2008 06:08 (eighteen years ago)

John has many disguises.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 3 January 2008 06:18 (eighteen years ago)

blagh it would have been boring anyway.

Autumn Almanac, Thursday, 3 January 2008 06:21 (eighteen years ago)

"Hi, Dear" sounds strangely like, "Hi, honey, I'M HOME" to me all of a sudden

Sara R-C, Thursday, 3 January 2008 06:22 (eighteen years ago)

Jon Chaney, man of a thousand usernames.

HI DEAR, Thursday, 3 January 2008 06:32 (eighteen years ago)

HI DEAR!

lxy, Thursday, 3 January 2008 06:33 (eighteen years ago)

John Justen and also HI DEAR and perhaps some other mysteries??, Thursday, 3 January 2008 06:35 (eighteen years ago)

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who is still awake.

I hope my fingers don't freeze to my keyboard.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 3 January 2008 06:42 (eighteen years ago)

Okay, time to pass out. I've been labeling wedding photos on flickr forever. Why did I take so many pictures? WHY?!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 3 January 2008 07:18 (eighteen years ago)

Not sure.

I know, right?, Thursday, 3 January 2008 14:12 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, I don't know either. I'm going to go lie down and think about it some more. WITH MY EYES SHUT

Sara R-C, Thursday, 3 January 2008 14:44 (eighteen years ago)

Am I the only person who visualizes the Iowa caucuses as a giant game of musical chairs?

Sara R-C, Thursday, 3 January 2008 17:48 (eighteen years ago)

yes, except you have to pay a bunch of money to start playing and you can't leave until you've played for two hours and EVERYBODY LOSES.

John Justen, Thursday, 3 January 2008 19:45 (eighteen years ago)

or maybe more like a cakewalk, but all the cakes are frosted with spoiled mayonnaise

John Justen, Thursday, 3 January 2008 19:46 (eighteen years ago)

That actually sounds like the kind of party I expect you to throw, John.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 3 January 2008 20:14 (eighteen years ago)

or like a shit sandwich, but one that wants to talk to you about the issues that are important to you

John Justen, Thursday, 3 January 2008 20:15 (eighteen years ago)

IT HAS BEGUN. 11 MONTHS OF ENDLESS SUFFERING.

John Justen, Thursday, 3 January 2008 20:15 (eighteen years ago)

Aaaargh, my heart really isn't in giving you a hard time today. Austin was in a car accident (HE IS FINE - so much so that he was going to WALK THE REST OF THE WAY TO WORK but some sane person gave him a ride). I think I'm a little shaken up, actually.

WTF WANTING TO WALK TO WORK AFTER AN ACCIDENT SRSLY

Sara R-C, Thursday, 3 January 2008 20:17 (eighteen years ago)

everything will be fine and huggles!!!!!!

HI DEAR, Thursday, 3 January 2008 20:17 (eighteen years ago)

Sara R-C, Thursday, 3 January 2008 20:18 (eighteen years ago)

HI DEAR, Thursday, 3 January 2008 20:18 (eighteen years ago)

Sara R-C, Thursday, 3 January 2008 20:18 (eighteen years ago)

i am off to spread oogy woogie chipper cheer to the magical ilx forest yippee!!!!

This is really conjuring up some disturbing images

Sara R-C, Thursday, 3 January 2008 20:20 (eighteen years ago)

Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows,
Everything that's wonderful is what I feel when we're together,
Brighter than a lucky penny,
When you're near the rain cloud disappears, dear,
And I feel so fine just to know that you are mine.

My life is sunshine, lollipops and rainbows,
That's how this refrain goes, so come on, join in everybody!

Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows,
Everything that's wonderful is sure to come your way
When you're in love to stay.

Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows,
Everything that's wonderful is what I feel when we're together,
Brighter than a lucky penny,
When you're near the rain cloud disappears, dear,
And I feel so fine just to know that you are mine.

My life is sunshine, lollipops and rainbows,
That's how this refrain goes, so come on, join in everybody!

Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows,
Everything that's wonderful is sure to come your way
'Cause you're in love, you're in love,
And love is here to stay!
