John, I'm voting yes. Because I know nothing of this movie and I have no idea who that guy is, but I figure you can find out for me and report back.

Sara R-C, Monday, 31 December 2007 00:56 (eighteen years ago)

ITS ABOUT A CRIMINAL MIDGET PRETENDING TO BE A BABY AND BEING "RAUNCHY" I BELIEVE

John Justen, Monday, 31 December 2007 00:56 (eighteen years ago)

Well then absolutely yes.

Sara R-C, Monday, 31 December 2007 00:57 (eighteen years ago)

ew the previews for that looked gross

Rubyredd, Monday, 31 December 2007 01:03 (eighteen years ago)

this is really terrible already

John Justen, Monday, 31 December 2007 01:04 (eighteen years ago)

i dont think i have enough booze in the house to watch this

John Justen, Monday, 31 December 2007 01:07 (eighteen years ago)

It's too bad you didn't prepare properly. You guys haven't live-blogged a horrendous film in forever.

And it's Sunday, so you can't even go get emergency booze rations!

Sara R-C, Monday, 31 December 2007 01:08 (eighteen years ago)

Special edition of JJ will watch it.

Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows, Monday, 31 December 2007 01:08 (eighteen years ago)

Booze free!

Sara R-C, Monday, 31 December 2007 01:09 (eighteen years ago)

Not to worry; FB will be by later to check in whether or not you need to "take a little rest" in a strait jacket.

Sara R-C, Monday, 31 December 2007 01:09 (eighteen years ago)

Booze free!

-- Sara R-C, Monday, December 31, 2007 1:09 AM (5 minutes ago)

no no, i have booze, just not enough

John Justen, Monday, 31 December 2007 01:15 (eighteen years ago)

also available, ultraviolet w/ milla jovovovoovovvovich

John Justen, Monday, 31 December 2007 01:17 (eighteen years ago)

I'd like to hear John's definition of "enough" booze for any circumstance, tbh.

Sara R-C, Monday, 31 December 2007 01:19 (eighteen years ago)

http://z.about.com/d/movies/1/0/S/J/8/ultraviolet01250602.jpg

it would appear that the props department for this movie constructed their futuristic weapons after buying a bunch of stapleguns from home depot

John Justen, Monday, 31 December 2007 01:20 (eighteen years ago)

Now, John. You know that's just good business. It's a MULTIUSE PRODUCT, for both the character and the props people. And probably the business office, too.

Sara R-C, Monday, 31 December 2007 01:21 (eighteen years ago)

milla jovovich is a much better actress when her only line is "MULTIPASS"

John Justen, Monday, 31 December 2007 01:24 (eighteen years ago)

I hear she's looking for a new script from an as yet unheard of screenwriter from the Midwest.

Sara R-C, Monday, 31 December 2007 01:32 (eighteen years ago)

oh fifth element. <33333

jessie monster, Monday, 31 December 2007 01:32 (eighteen years ago)

fifth element is the greatest movie ever made about sort of nothing at all.

there was just a groin injury montage in little man

John Justen, Monday, 31 December 2007 01:55 (eighteen years ago)

This thread is now traumatizing me by reminding me that I didn't see any movies for, like, a decade. Including Fifth Element.

Sara R-C, Monday, 31 December 2007 01:59 (eighteen years ago)

YOU GUYS I JUST SAW A GODMAN EXORCISE AN EVIL SPIRIT FROM A GIRL AND PUT IT IN A COCONUT AND THEN HE BROKE THE COCONUT AND BLOOD CAME OUT.

nm it was a trick they used a mouse and the godman was a bank manager. :(

PBS <3.

jessie monster, Monday, 31 December 2007 02:17 (eighteen years ago)

Ultraviolet was kind of awesome! Milla Jovavich is super in action films. Also John "Black People All Look Alike" Justen apparently can't tell Marlon and Damon Wayans apart.

All of this reminds me that I need to see Resident Evil 3.

HI DERE, Monday, 31 December 2007 02:18 (eighteen years ago)

To be fair, John can't tell white people apart most of the time, either. He should really see an optometrist.

Sara R-C, Monday, 31 December 2007 02:23 (eighteen years ago)

I am going to go get on my treadmill and watch Arrested Development now. (At least I'm catching up on something, and also reinforcing my lifelong crush on Jason Bateman.)

Sara R-C, Monday, 31 December 2007 02:24 (eighteen years ago)

actually, comcast cable guide can't tell damon and marlon apart, because that's what it still says in the onscreen info.

xpost

John Justen, Monday, 31 December 2007 02:25 (eighteen years ago)

comcast doesn't care about black people.

jessie monster, Monday, 31 December 2007 02:25 (eighteen years ago)

^^^^^ true, according to my cable bill

HI DERE, Monday, 31 December 2007 02:26 (eighteen years ago)

OH SNAP! a picture thread

I really want people to link to the OH SNAP! picture thread instead of saying "OH SNAP!" from now on.

jessie monster, Monday, 31 December 2007 02:28 (eighteen years ago)

From this moment on, I will ban any user of the ITR that says OH SNAP! a picture thread without linking to the OH SNAP! a picture thread a picture thread

John Justen, Monday, 31 December 2007 02:36 (eighteen years ago)

so tempted to ban you for incomprehensibility

HI DERE, Monday, 31 December 2007 02:42 (eighteen years ago)

It's a wonder you didn't give into that temptation years ago

Sara R-C, Monday, 31 December 2007 04:14 (eighteen years ago)

I wasn't a moderator on ITR years ago!

HI DERE, Monday, 31 December 2007 04:18 (eighteen years ago)

A flimsy excuse if I've ever heard one!

Sara R-C, Monday, 31 December 2007 04:47 (eighteen years ago)

But I'll accept it because, you know, 'tis the season.

Sara R-C, Monday, 31 December 2007 04:48 (eighteen years ago)

You guys, there are madmen on ILM saying that "Take Me With U" is the best song on Purple Rain. W T F

HI DERE, Monday, 31 December 2007 05:11 (eighteen years ago)

Okay, no, it's clearly "Darling Nikki"

Sara R-C, Monday, 31 December 2007 05:19 (eighteen years ago)

(Actually I prefer the more mundane "When Doves Cry" and "Purple Rain," but you know, any time I can take a decades old swipe at poor Tipper Gore, I take the chance.)

Sara R-C, Monday, 31 December 2007 05:20 (eighteen years ago)

(okay, not so much "mundane" as "way less obscene")

Sara R-C, Monday, 31 December 2007 05:22 (eighteen years ago)

The correct answer is "any song that isn't 'Take Me With U'"!

HI DERE, Monday, 31 December 2007 05:23 (eighteen years ago)

I don't remember what else is on that album! I just remember that we used to listen to the tape downstairs in the basement when we lived on 15th St. You know, WHERE MOM COULDN'T HEAR IT

Sara R-C, Monday, 31 December 2007 05:26 (eighteen years ago)

Prince was light years ahead of everyone else with his "4 U," etc. Imagine how easy it must have been for him to learn to text.

Sara R-C, Monday, 31 December 2007 05:29 (eighteen years ago)

Let's Go Crazy
Take Me With U
The Beautiful Ones
Darling Nikki
Computer Blue
When Doves Cry
I Would Die 4 U
Baby I'm A Star
Purple Rain

aka 8 AWESOME SONGS AND "Take Me With U"

HI DERE, Monday, 31 December 2007 05:47 (eighteen years ago)

I'm irrationally partial to I Would Die 4 U.

Daniel, Esq., Monday, 31 December 2007 05:49 (eighteen years ago)

Thinking about this has forced me to listen to Prince on my computer. You guys I'm not getting sleep and I blame both Dan AND Prince.

Sara R-C, Monday, 31 December 2007 05:54 (eighteen years ago)

However, the Prince song I've been obsessed with since last spring is "7." I don't have a clue what album it is originally from, but it loops in my head at the oddest moments.

Sara R-C, Monday, 31 December 2007 05:55 (eighteen years ago)

btw, pepper brie is the best late night snack in the world

Sara R-C, Monday, 31 December 2007 05:59 (eighteen years ago)

My favorite is Delirious (from 1999) or Bob George (from The Black Album) or Kiss. He was great in his prime.

Daniel, Esq., Monday, 31 December 2007 06:00 (eighteen years ago)

"7" is from 0)+>.

I really, really, really love "Sometimes It Snows In April" and "Mountains".

HI DERE, Monday, 31 December 2007 06:03 (eighteen years ago)

I don't even know some of those! ;_;

Sara R-C, Monday, 31 December 2007 06:12 (eighteen years ago)

I sometimes think I should go through all of the HSTNGS and related threads, taking notes on music, books, and other media.
