tehresa, Sunday, 8 June 2008 17:18 (eighteen years ago)

Hey guys, did you hear about tehresa's booty call? Discuss.

hyggeligt, Sunday, 8 June 2008 17:19 (eighteen years ago)

ok see that's not funny.

tehresa, Sunday, 8 June 2008 17:20 (eighteen years ago)

I'm sorry.

hyggeligt, Sunday, 8 June 2008 17:21 (eighteen years ago)

i had to ride my bike to a female coworker's house yesterday to pick up some work stuff. she lives at the top of a big hill, and when i got there, i was totally out of breath and drenched in sweat.

should i be embarrassed?

ytth, Sunday, 8 June 2008 17:24 (eighteen years ago)

also, this is the first time i've been around to see a hott night on ITR wither in the stark light of the following day. i kind of feel like i should be waking up on a floor with a hangover.

ytth, Sunday, 8 June 2008 17:26 (eighteen years ago)

more talking

tehresa, Sunday, 8 June 2008 18:32 (eighteen years ago)

i need to go out to get an a/c, but i just can't bring myself to step outside into the nasty heat.

tehresa, Sunday, 8 June 2008 18:33 (eighteen years ago)

I have to proctor this afternoon. Yay lording it over OTHER students taking finals!

Sara R-C, Sunday, 8 June 2008 19:08 (eighteen years ago)

Then afterward we are going out for my son's birthday (he is TEN today!). In-laws are still here. I imagine that I'll be up late with my MIL, knitting.

Sara R-C, Sunday, 8 June 2008 19:09 (eighteen years ago)

I just went out and bought drapes and a curtain rod. at any moment i expect my testicles will shrivel and drop off.

BLACK BEYONCE, Sunday, 8 June 2008 21:17 (eighteen years ago)

fortunately your neighbors will not have to witness the terrible event, because your windows will be covered.

lxy, Sunday, 8 June 2008 21:31 (eighteen years ago)

^^^excelsiored for posterity, before it slips into the black void of mollilingfybert

Rubyredd, Sunday, 8 June 2008 21:41 (eighteen years ago)

Too true.

Earlier:

i was totally out of breath and drenched in sweat.

Because you never get a second chance to make a first impression.

Ned Raggett, Sunday, 8 June 2008 21:45 (eighteen years ago)

I have to buy 3 sets of blackout blinds and curtains. It worries me that this is seen as unmanly :( I am also mad keen on lamps and Art Deco yet I consider myself a man. In fact:

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

Basically Kipling is saying that it's okay to like lamps and things because I am the shit.

The End.

JERGINS –– the ballet was awesome (espesh the third act) –- THX. We called you late, but we wanted to buy you a beer.

remy bean, Sunday, 8 June 2008 22:37 (eighteen years ago)

Oh right and the fondness for blinds make me gay? The hell with this, when ballet leads to manly beers I am obviously totally out of the macho loop :(

hyggeligt, Sunday, 8 June 2008 22:41 (eighteen years ago)

remy! ha i didn't even know one of the tickets was for you. glad you guys had a good time. yeah, 'the concert' is just hilarious and great.

jergins, Sunday, 8 June 2008 22:46 (eighteen years ago)

smith tomorrow?

jergïns, Sunday, 8 June 2008 22:47 (eighteen years ago)

x-x-post: yeah, I was about to say. What's this about manly ballet beer?

Ned Raggett, Sunday, 8 June 2008 23:00 (eighteen years ago)

i would drink a beer with the ballet. with all of the remarkably perfect ballet asses, oh baby.

remy bean, Sunday, 8 June 2008 23:26 (eighteen years ago)

yeah, def smith tomorrow.

remy bean, Sunday, 8 June 2008 23:27 (eighteen years ago)

guys can i put a window unit in my wall a/c hole? they are so much cheaper. i ended up not buying a/c at all bc the dude was trying to make me spend $499 on the wall units and i simply can not do that.

tehresa, Monday, 9 June 2008 02:27 (eighteen years ago)

tehresa, I'm no use with questions like this.

But I want some ballet, beer, and some curtains with rods, plz.

Sara R-C, Monday, 9 June 2008 04:03 (eighteen years ago)

so hot and humid

tehresa, Monday, 9 June 2008 04:30 (eighteen years ago)

It's warm/hot, very humid, and threatening storms here (and has been for the past x number of days). The sad part is that I literally have to wear a sweater to proctor exams; the concert hall where the tests are given is always weirdly chilly.

Sara R-C, Monday, 9 June 2008 04:51 (eighteen years ago)

Humidity. This is why I live near a desert. (I'm really not kidding -- the one thing about my trip out East I'm secretly dreading is a humid heat wave.)

Ned Raggett, Monday, 9 June 2008 05:00 (eighteen years ago)

I completely get the appeal of that, since walking outside feels kind of like walking into a wet blanket.

Sara R-C, Monday, 9 June 2008 05:04 (eighteen years ago)

Okay, I'm going to sleep because even though I got 10 hours of sleep last night, I'm exhausted. PATHETIC

Good night all.

Sara R-C, Monday, 9 June 2008 05:27 (eighteen years ago)

Okay, whoever locked the lxy & jergins thread should be banned from ilx and someone should dookie on their mother's doorstep. That thread was the gift that kept regifting itself.

The Reverend, Monday, 9 June 2008 09:47 (eighteen years ago)

What thread is that?

hyggeligt, Monday, 9 June 2008 09:50 (eighteen years ago)

Huh, it's locked now?

In laws have gone to a conference and won't be back until Thursday. Yay, I might have time to put some stuff away and get a nap now!

Sara R-C, Monday, 9 June 2008 16:34 (eighteen years ago)

Okay, the kids are outside. J. is obsessed with a dead worm she is calling her "pet."

Is it too early in the summer to lock them in the backyard? It's fenced, so they couldn't really go anyplace...

Sara R-C, Monday, 9 June 2008 18:57 (eighteen years ago)

Time to go proctor and stop wasting time in my house.... yay?!

Sara R-C, Monday, 9 June 2008 19:31 (eighteen years ago)

just arrived back east after a beautiful, beautiful wknd. it's only 95 degrees here. oooohhh...

ruby, you will like oakland lots, i'm thinking. yes, there are decidedly rugged parts of the city, but i forgot how paradisical(sp?) it can seem what with the sunshine and foliage and the lack of abrasiveness and chaos that sometimes seems to characterize parts of sf. in any case, if you grow weary, truly mind-staggering beauty is just a short drive away

also, i forgot the degree to which people smile and seem happy there, in contrast to east coast cities where people look angry all the time

dell, Monday, 9 June 2008 21:56 (eighteen years ago)

GodDAMMIT that dream about doing the dishes did not actually happen. This is BULLSHIT.

en i see kay, Tuesday, 10 June 2008 00:56 (eighteen years ago)

I have had a very glamorous but down-to-earth evening. Go figure.

suzy, Tuesday, 10 June 2008 01:38 (eighteen years ago)

Proctoring done for the year, yay! Next stop: late night treadmill workout.

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 10 June 2008 03:04 (eighteen years ago)

BLACK BEYONCE, Tuesday, 10 June 2008 07:02 (eighteen years ago)

BLACK BEYONCE, Tuesday, 10 June 2008 07:03 (eighteen years ago)
