You guys, I have 96% in my class right now and I just have no idea how I'm going to do on the final test tonight. I'm so envious of everyone else being finished already!

Plus, I'm bitter that my "final" comes right before a huge weekend of clinicals and a 100 point GIANT PAPER.

Basically, I have been doing well all semester and now I think uh-oh, I 'm going to screw it all up.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:23 (eighteen years ago)

Also trying to figure out how a person gets into collecting wooden monks...

Then again, if someone was going through my stuff, I feel sure they'd find a lot to be completely mystified by.

Tracer - I will try to check it out when you post the link. I will have time for recreation again in less than a week!!!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:25 (eighteen years ago)

if you've been doing well all semester it's going to be hard to screw up now

my granddad was a methodist minister for 60 years, is the main reason. maybe it started with one innocuous gift, the way some people get lumbered with "cat" gifts i.e. "oh she likes cats, let's get her this motivational poster!" maybe my grandfather actually hated all those monks.

Tracer Hand, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:29 (eighteen years ago)

Tracer, I appreciate your vote of confidence. We'll see how the test goes... it's only 30 points, so hopefully I'll be able to sort most of it out. (But again... 30 points for about 4,000 pages of material total... I always feel like I have no idea what to focus on.)

I see where you are going with the wooden monks, too. It just struck me as such an odd thing to collect - possibly because I've never (to my memory) seen a single one!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:37 (eighteen years ago)

sara, you will do fine!!!

tehresa, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:38 (eighteen years ago)

You all know by now that Sara is a big ball of unnecessary stress re: this stuff, right?

HI DERE, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:39 (eighteen years ago)

yes, but encouraging words never hurt in these matters!

tehresa, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:40 (eighteen years ago)

Blimey is this the longest thread ever? I just want to post to it anyway, mostly to say I have. Hello.

Matt DC, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:45 (eighteen years ago)

Hiya.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:46 (eighteen years ago)

Daniel, I love you to death, and you're probably right. Now imagine a class of me plus 23 other people JUST LIKE ME. (Do you feel sorry for the profs suddenly?) Anyway, thanks for your HSTNGS-brand encouraging words!

tehresa - THANK YOU!

Matt DC - IS this the longest thread ever? Possibly! HELLO!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:48 (eighteen years ago)

i want to see dan's rehab horror film, just make sure to include a character who used to snort heroin because they are terrified of needles who in the end is killed by like a shit-ton of needles.

omar little, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:54 (eighteen years ago)

maybe also a james frey-like hack author who is going into rehab pretending to be addicted to crack or whatever but who's really just going to steal ideas and then he gets his comeuppance bigtime.

omar little, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:55 (eighteen years ago)

I want Dan to write this film a.s.a.p., and possibly to star in it as well.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:56 (eighteen years ago)

Also, leaving for school and attendant all-evening insanity now - have good evenings, all!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:56 (eighteen years ago)

I might totally steal the James Frey character.

HI DERE, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:58 (eighteen years ago)

like his one phone call per day from rehab which is supposedly going to his mother we end up finding out is going to his AGENT omg

omar little, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:59 (eighteen years ago)

that's good

Tracer Hand, Thursday, 29 May 2008 21:00 (eighteen years ago)

(we all know I am never writing this due to my total lack of patience when it comes to writing, yes)

HI DERE, Thursday, 29 May 2008 21:01 (eighteen years ago)

ease into it, start out with bullet points in a three act breakdown, use the bullet points to write up a lengthier synopsis, then run with that shit, dog~

omar little, Thursday, 29 May 2008 21:03 (eighteen years ago)

No, Dan, seriously. This is a good one.

suzy, Thursday, 29 May 2008 21:06 (eighteen years ago)

good job to our A students!

I got my first F's this semester but that was just b/c of personal bullshit

Curt1s Stephens, Thursday, 29 May 2008 21:08 (eighteen years ago)

What omar said. Cripes, Dan, I can spew all sorts of nonsense for NaNoWriMo, you can actually probably do something practical for a script.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 29 May 2008 21:09 (eighteen years ago)

I wrote 1400 words for NaNoWriMo one year and then went "oh yeah, WoW"

HI DERE, Thursday, 29 May 2008 21:11 (eighteen years ago)

NaNoWoWMo

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 29 May 2008 21:30 (eighteen years ago)

mookieproof, Thursday, 29 May 2008 23:18 (eighteen years ago)

Nothing feels better than good grades.

this is some straight bullshit

El Tomboto, Thursday, 29 May 2008 23:21 (eighteen years ago)

Depends on what you're being graded for.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 30 May 2008 01:09 (eighteen years ago)

I don't think they really offer report cards for that, Ned.

xpost Thanks for the egoboost, mookieproof!

Objective part of the test went very well; short anwers I'm not sure about. It will be a miracle if the prof could even read my writing (almost no one can), but I did try. Next up: clinical weekend.

Sara R-C, Friday, 30 May 2008 03:31 (eighteen years ago)

PS Dan, I will be v. angry if you do not write this script now. And I know you PHEAR MY WRATH

Sara R-C, Friday, 30 May 2008 03:32 (eighteen years ago)

You both like basketball, listen to the same music, and eat strawberry ice cream with chocolate chips. How could anyone else have so much in common?

He has the coolest hair, and he is so funny, but every time you see him, you feel shy and embarrassed.

You don't even know her, but you feel nervous whenever you see her. Your face feels hot and your cheeks get red.

If a girl or boy is making you feel this way, you might be wondering, "What is going on?" Well, it sounds like you have a crush.

Curt1s Stephens, Friday, 30 May 2008 04:18 (eighteen years ago)

When you develop special feelings toward someone, it can change your world. You might want to talk on the phone or ask your crush to your birthday party or a school dance. As you get older and your feelings change, you might be ready for your first boyfriend or girlfriend and even your first kiss! But for now, you might just be friends with your crush, if your crush wants to be friends with you.

Curt1s Stephens, Friday, 30 May 2008 04:19 (eighteen years ago)

What the hell? I don't log onto this site for a mere 24 hours or so, and in the meantime three kinds of hell break loose, not to mention the return of LJ!

dell, Friday, 30 May 2008 04:43 (eighteen years ago)

I'm still mystified about what happened, dell, but I have decided that it is better that way.

Good night to all!

Sara R-C, Friday, 30 May 2008 05:53 (eighteen years ago)

sara, glad your test went well! i'm sure you did fine!

i was a little perplexed when a classmate who i think is a little verbose/moronic (verbosity a very obv. attempt to cover up her inabilities) told me she got an a+ in marketing. it made me feel weak/inept. but i know deep inside the profs were probably just fooled by her verbosity. still, it stings a bit.

tehresa, Friday, 30 May 2008 07:41 (eighteen years ago)

i found the #1 crush from my 20th year on facebook and he is no longer cute and sexy and geeky, but instead is all feral and has dreadlocks and looks like a gross hippie. yuck.

Rubyredd, Friday, 30 May 2008 13:27 (eighteen years ago)

oh gross.

tehresa, Friday, 30 May 2008 14:03 (eighteen years ago)

See, I think that is kind of hilarious, especially because RR is still pretty young (aren't you?). Give him another decade and then you'll REALLY be alarmed!

tehresa, you are not weak/inept. Some people just think a lot of words always mean something.

Sara R-C, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:21 (eighteen years ago)

OK so I don't know if I've mentioned that I've been getting paid to do film treatments lately? I say this because if Daniel could get his a into g with three pages of summary, there is a small chance it could be put forward and developed for the people I'm working for. Just sayin'.

suzy, Friday, 30 May 2008 17:16 (eighteen years ago)

Hmmmm, maybe if we lock Daniel in a room with a computer that only has word processing ability on it, we can MAKE him do it.

Although I suspect that what we'd get back would be a very creative angry tirade directed at us...

Sara R-C, Friday, 30 May 2008 17:57 (eighteen years ago)

there are so many places i don't know about

Surmounter, Friday, 30 May 2008 22:53 (eighteen years ago)

BIG SUR

Curt1s Stephens, Friday, 30 May 2008 22:55 (eighteen years ago)

i didn't even know about that place until recently.

Surmounter, Friday, 30 May 2008 22:56 (eighteen years ago)

mollingifybert thread seems to be gaining notoriety, maybe thanks to 'c-man' (HAHAHA)

Rubyredd, Saturday, 31 May 2008 00:34 (eighteen years ago)

I would like to find out about places where I could learn to scuba dive.

But for now, ITR is enough.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 31 May 2008 01:04 (eighteen years ago)

Hello, and good night -- I have to be at the farmer's market at 9AM BST.

Have been sent a proof of Crime, the new Irvine Welsh book where he tries to be Carl Hiaasen. In book Welsh records priceless piece of FL men's room graffiti:

HERE I SIT, CHEEKS A-FLEXIN'
GIVIN' BIRTH TO ANOTHER TEXAN

(joeks texas)

suzy, Saturday, 31 May 2008 01:16 (eighteen years ago)
