tehresa, Thursday, 29 May 2008 19:00 (eighteen years ago)

yeah that's pretty basic, remy

El Tomboto, Thursday, 29 May 2008 19:01 (eighteen years ago)

more complete wiki

remy bean, Thursday, 29 May 2008 19:02 (eighteen years ago)

Why are you all so employed and productive?! It doesn't make me hate you, it makes me want to sleeeep.

Remy, that looks interesting. I am totally unfamiliar with your subject matter, but do tend to like films based on history... I am glad you are doing so well right now!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 19:07 (eighteen years ago)

I have an idea for a movie but no idea how to turn it into a script. ;_; Plus I'm sure someone's done it already.

HI DERE, Thursday, 29 May 2008 19:10 (eighteen years ago)

Well, I feel quite certain that no one has done it quite the way you would, Dan. (Besides, they say there are only 3 or 4 stories out there... everything else is a variation on those.)

So yeah, how to turn it into a script could be a problem, but I feel like you can figure that out somehow.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 19:12 (eighteen years ago)

CUZ YOU'RE DAN PERRY

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 19:13 (eighteen years ago)

i wd def. read a movie dan wrote

remy bean, Thursday, 29 May 2008 19:13 (eighteen years ago)

Dan is a really good writer, but I think he sometimes forgets this fact somehow.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 19:16 (eighteen years ago)

hi you guys!

today i went with my dad to a storage facility in south knoxville and we looked at the last earthly possessions of HIS dad. pretty strange. lots of wooden monks, some silver, an itinerary for a trip to stockholm in 1978.

last nite i finished recording lines for "0012 - Jane Bond", an audio drama. i play the villain. i suggest all budding screenwriters study it for masterclass tips. for instance, when your hero is hanging from a ledge by her fingertips, make sure your villain taunts her with a weak joke, like "out on a LIMB, are we??"

Tracer Hand, Thursday, 29 May 2008 19:30 (eighteen years ago)

Oh my.

Remy, I saw it, but I've never heard of him!

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 29 May 2008 19:35 (eighteen years ago)

I can write a mean paragraph!

I need to work the idea out some more but it's a horror/thriller movie called Intervention, the core idea being a "rehab" program that messily kills its patients.

HI DERE, Thursday, 29 May 2008 19:37 (eighteen years ago)

Okay, where can I hear this audio drama? I do enjoy a weak joke. (Also... wooden monks?!)

Also - HI!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 19:39 (eighteen years ago)

Dan can write a mean paragraph and a killer poem, too. He's just kind of shy about these things.

Also, he has great ideas, and now I'm afraid to go into rehab. THANKS A LOT, DAN, YOU KNOW THAT'S WHERE I'M GOING TO WIND UP BEFORE I FINISH WITH SCHOOL

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 19:40 (eighteen years ago)

this thread is rapidly gaining popularity.

thanks, chaki!

tehresa, Thursday, 29 May 2008 19:40 (eighteen years ago)

lolololololol

HI DERE, Thursday, 29 May 2008 19:41 (eighteen years ago)

Congrats tehresa! Nothing feels better than good grades. They are addicting. (I never started getting them 'til a year and a half ago–all A's, anyway–and damn it is a fine feeling.)

Abbott, Thursday, 29 May 2008 19:41 (eighteen years ago)

I give this thread an 'A.'

Abbott, Thursday, 29 May 2008 19:41 (eighteen years ago)

i give YOU an a!

tehresa, Thursday, 29 May 2008 19:42 (eighteen years ago)

A+s all around!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 19:42 (eighteen years ago)

good work everyone~

omar little, Thursday, 29 May 2008 19:43 (eighteen years ago)

hi sarah! i don't know the address for the show yet, they're not done editing it together. i will post here!

yes, wooden monks. he was a fanatic for wooden monks. he probably ended up with like 100 of them

Tracer Hand, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:06 (eighteen years ago)

Congrats tehresa! Nothing feels better than good grades. They are addicting. (I never started getting them 'til a year and a half ago–all A's, anyway–and damn it is a fine feeling.)

This is true! I've somehow become the person who complains about getting an A- instead of an A but it just feels so rewarding.

Congratulations on being finished Tza! It's awesome, isn't it?

ENBB, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:11 (eighteen years ago)

it is awesome!

no, i complain about A- too! last semester i had 5 As and 1 A- and if i get an A in the missing grade class, this sem will be 4 As and 1 A-. it just screws up your gpa. it's almost like getting 'all As' except you have like 3.96 instead of 4.0.

tehresa, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:13 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah. I got all A-s this semester but I didn't complain too much because it was a really shit semester for me personally and I'm glad just to have it over and done with!

ENBB, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:13 (eighteen years ago)

aww, well congrats on being finished!!

tehresa, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:14 (eighteen years ago)

You guys, I have 96% in my class right now and I just have no idea how I'm going to do on the final test tonight. I'm so envious of everyone else being finished already!

Plus, I'm bitter that my "final" comes right before a huge weekend of clinicals and a 100 point GIANT PAPER.

Basically, I have been doing well all semester and now I think uh-oh, I 'm going to screw it all up.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:23 (eighteen years ago)

Also trying to figure out how a person gets into collecting wooden monks...

Then again, if someone was going through my stuff, I feel sure they'd find a lot to be completely mystified by.

Tracer - I will try to check it out when you post the link. I will have time for recreation again in less than a week!!!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:25 (eighteen years ago)

if you've been doing well all semester it's going to be hard to screw up now

my granddad was a methodist minister for 60 years, is the main reason. maybe it started with one innocuous gift, the way some people get lumbered with "cat" gifts i.e. "oh she likes cats, let's get her this motivational poster!" maybe my grandfather actually hated all those monks.

Tracer Hand, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:29 (eighteen years ago)

Tracer, I appreciate your vote of confidence. We'll see how the test goes... it's only 30 points, so hopefully I'll be able to sort most of it out. (But again... 30 points for about 4,000 pages of material total... I always feel like I have no idea what to focus on.)

I see where you are going with the wooden monks, too. It just struck me as such an odd thing to collect - possibly because I've never (to my memory) seen a single one!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:37 (eighteen years ago)

sara, you will do fine!!!

tehresa, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:38 (eighteen years ago)

You all know by now that Sara is a big ball of unnecessary stress re: this stuff, right?

HI DERE, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:39 (eighteen years ago)

yes, but encouraging words never hurt in these matters!

tehresa, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:40 (eighteen years ago)

Blimey is this the longest thread ever? I just want to post to it anyway, mostly to say I have. Hello.

Matt DC, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:45 (eighteen years ago)

Hiya.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:46 (eighteen years ago)

Daniel, I love you to death, and you're probably right. Now imagine a class of me plus 23 other people JUST LIKE ME. (Do you feel sorry for the profs suddenly?) Anyway, thanks for your HSTNGS-brand encouraging words!

tehresa - THANK YOU!

Matt DC - IS this the longest thread ever? Possibly! HELLO!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:48 (eighteen years ago)

i want to see dan's rehab horror film, just make sure to include a character who used to snort heroin because they are terrified of needles who in the end is killed by like a shit-ton of needles.

omar little, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:54 (eighteen years ago)

maybe also a james frey-like hack author who is going into rehab pretending to be addicted to crack or whatever but who's really just going to steal ideas and then he gets his comeuppance bigtime.

omar little, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:55 (eighteen years ago)

I want Dan to write this film a.s.a.p., and possibly to star in it as well.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:56 (eighteen years ago)

Also, leaving for school and attendant all-evening insanity now - have good evenings, all!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:56 (eighteen years ago)

I might totally steal the James Frey character.

HI DERE, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:58 (eighteen years ago)

like his one phone call per day from rehab which is supposedly going to his mother we end up finding out is going to his AGENT omg

omar little, Thursday, 29 May 2008 20:59 (eighteen years ago)

that's good

Tracer Hand, Thursday, 29 May 2008 21:00 (eighteen years ago)

(we all know I am never writing this due to my total lack of patience when it comes to writing, yes)

HI DERE, Thursday, 29 May 2008 21:01 (eighteen years ago)

ease into it, start out with bullet points in a three act breakdown, use the bullet points to write up a lengthier synopsis, then run with that shit, dog~

omar little, Thursday, 29 May 2008 21:03 (eighteen years ago)

No, Dan, seriously. This is a good one.

suzy, Thursday, 29 May 2008 21:06 (eighteen years ago)

good job to our A students!

I got my first F's this semester but that was just b/c of personal bullshit

Curt1s Stephens, Thursday, 29 May 2008 21:08 (eighteen years ago)

What omar said. Cripes, Dan, I can spew all sorts of nonsense for NaNoWriMo, you can actually probably do something practical for a script.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 29 May 2008 21:09 (eighteen years ago)

I wrote 1400 words for NaNoWriMo one year and then went "oh yeah, WoW"

HI DERE, Thursday, 29 May 2008 21:11 (eighteen years ago)

NaNoWoWMo

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 29 May 2008 21:30 (eighteen years ago)
