tehresa, Wednesday, 28 May 2008 17:31 (eighteen years ago)

No kidding! As long as the process didn't run on petroleum, I'd be IN!

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 28 May 2008 17:34 (eighteen years ago)

what if it ran on baby-seal livers?

remy bean, Wednesday, 28 May 2008 17:49 (eighteen years ago)

HI DERE, Wednesday, 28 May 2008 17:49 (eighteen years ago)

I hear those are really delicious.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 28 May 2008 17:49 (eighteen years ago)

not five minutes ago i posted on a thread on the sandbox called 'traitor joe's' and said they should sell seal pelts

jergins, Wednesday, 28 May 2008 17:58 (eighteen years ago)

Seals are clearly the wave of the future, for all of our clothing, food, and fuel needs.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 28 May 2008 19:52 (eighteen years ago)

Hey Ned, I saw that Finnish band play the other night; they were really interesting. Not a head left un-wrecked in the house as a result of their set.

So, I'm glad that you vouched for their live show. It provided me with extra impetus to make it out there

dell, Wednesday, 28 May 2008 19:58 (eighteen years ago)

Thanks to Ethan, I have read one of the worst articles ever written:

Rank the Indiana Jones Canon

so many WTF moments

HI DERE, Wednesday, 28 May 2008 20:11 (eighteen years ago)

Dan is quite right. Read that and feel your head melt.

Almost as much as said Finnish band might make it melt. :-) Glad you liked it, Dell!

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 28 May 2008 21:44 (eighteen years ago)

sara i didn't get to watch the dvds because my laptop is a spazz :( i'm going to stealthily make a move into the house and see if i can watch them in our living room.

Rubyredd, Wednesday, 28 May 2008 22:36 (eighteen years ago)

Dan - that article! WTF doesn't even begin to cover it.

RR - wait, so you haven't even watched the movies and they are giving you nightmares? Those are some A+ effective films, then! ;)

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 01:53 (eighteen years ago)

HE PLAYED GOD

tehresa, Thursday, 29 May 2008 02:46 (eighteen years ago)

i wish i had never read the cloverfield thread ages ago - it totally took all the excitement out of watching the movie today.

'i am legend' was good, but two disaster movies in one day was a bit much for my fragile brain.

Rubyredd, Thursday, 29 May 2008 02:48 (eighteen years ago)

ray caesar is having an exhibition in NYC at the jonathon levine gallery later this year. i may have to visit!

Rubyredd, Thursday, 29 May 2008 02:49 (eighteen years ago)

hmm so should i watch this cloverfield joint?

ruby, yes visit nyc! i will even offer you my couch/futon thing.

tehresa, Thursday, 29 May 2008 02:50 (eighteen years ago)

I recommend watching "Cloverfield" because I loved it.

HI DERE, Thursday, 29 May 2008 02:54 (eighteen years ago)

i worked at a theater a few years ago that had Larry from Three's Company in it. he played a lawyer and was actually good.

jergins, Thursday, 29 May 2008 02:55 (eighteen years ago)

larry was good, but the plays sucked :-\

tehresa, Thursday, 29 May 2008 02:58 (eighteen years ago)

i think i would have loved cloverfield way way more if i did not already know the entire script/storyline from reading the thread. but i couldn't resist!

Rubyredd, Thursday, 29 May 2008 03:10 (eighteen years ago)

I really enjoyed Cloverfield in the theater, but watching it at home was kind of deflating. On the other hand, I had fun showing some of it to Alex, who is almost 10 and on his way to the fear/love of scary movies that I had as a kid.

I want to see a play again someday! I don't care who is in it!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 03:27 (eighteen years ago)

Sara, you need my TV. Wait for Sears to put their flat-panel LCDs on sale again and look at the cheaper line 40" Sony Bravia.

HI DERE, Thursday, 29 May 2008 03:34 (eighteen years ago)

oh god flat panel lust.

tehresa, Thursday, 29 May 2008 03:36 (eighteen years ago)

Not gonna lie, it's not a cheap TV, BUT if you save and wait for a sale, particularly if you can put aside $50 - $100 a month for it, you can get one within 18 months debt-free given the continuing price drop.

HI DERE, Thursday, 29 May 2008 03:42 (eighteen years ago)

Oh Dan, you are the devil.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 03:45 (eighteen years ago)

(But of course I love that, so I'm not complaining.)

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 03:45 (eighteen years ago)

yeah my version of saving right now is to buy a more specialier antenna since mine apparently does not work well for digital channels

tehresa, Thursday, 29 May 2008 03:45 (eighteen years ago)

Ooooh, I forgot to tell you that we did get a Wii to give the kids for Xmas next year!

(And when I say "the kids," I mean everybody in the house but the cat.)

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 03:46 (eighteen years ago)

xpost lol tehresa. My first thought was, "hmmmmm, maybe my student loans can cover that! Oh wait, no, they are getting sucked up in GAS COSTS..."

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 03:46 (eighteen years ago)

Is digital cable out of the question? Even basic digital will cover you as far as the DTV issue is concerned.

HI DERE, Thursday, 29 May 2008 03:48 (eighteen years ago)

actually i don't drive! but they did up the monthly metrocard :(

tehresa, Thursday, 29 May 2008 03:48 (eighteen years ago)

eh we just never really discussed it. none of us watch much tv and i have a feeling having cable would render the 3 of us totally useless.

tehresa, Thursday, 29 May 2008 03:49 (eighteen years ago)

man if i had dvr, though....

tehresa, Thursday, 29 May 2008 03:51 (eighteen years ago)

Satellite dish plus TiVo = so, so awesome. I am basically going to lie around all summer watching tv.

Even though our television is from 1996. Hey, it still works!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 04:01 (eighteen years ago)

I've been without cable for five years -- thank god, really -- but I am interested in TV upgrading here within the next year or so now that instant legal movie downloads are pretty much gaining ground. Sorry but fuck a Netflix snail mail model, I'm too impatient for that! On the flipside, I am VERY patient when it comes to technology price collapses and letting humanity work the kinks out of things first before I buy anything, though.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 29 May 2008 04:03 (eighteen years ago)

i've never had cable, save 3 months i sublet someone's apartment.

i end up watching most stuff as streams on my laptop bc i miss original air time anyway. but dvr/tivo would be so rockin...

tehresa, Thursday, 29 May 2008 04:04 (eighteen years ago)

DVR is awesomes

HI DERE, Thursday, 29 May 2008 04:05 (eighteen years ago)

Oooh, I like Netflix, BUT I can see where if you have time to watch more than a movie a week it would seem too slow. I feel like it's been moving too fast for me, but that is SO about to end, at least for the summer! YAY!

Also, if I didn't have cable, I'd be without Jon Stewart, and I'm secretly in love with that guy. Plus, you know, Food Network.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 04:05 (eighteen years ago)

oooh sara you are almost done!!

tehresa, Thursday, 29 May 2008 04:06 (eighteen years ago)

wait ned is that 'any movie ever on demand' thing i read about when i was like 10 years old for real now??

i heard netflix was allowing users to DL movies but i had to drop them awhile back & anyway waiting like 4 hrs to watch them on a PC isnt exactly the same as the flick coming instantly to yr tv screen

deeznuts, Thursday, 29 May 2008 04:07 (eighteen years ago)

xp Yay!

I'm so just wanting to get it all out of my way right now.

BRING IT ON

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 04:07 (eighteen years ago)

Ha, I say that and then I continue to sit here for 20 minutes, not doing anything productive at all, because I don't feel like going upstairs to solidify my knowledge of oral diabetes meds.

JUST ONE WEEK

Sara R-C, Thursday, 29 May 2008 04:29 (eighteen years ago)

you are in the HOME STRETCH!!!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!

tehresa, Thursday, 29 May 2008 04:29 (eighteen years ago)

i am getting really nervous waiting for grades to get posted eeeeeeee

tehresa, Thursday, 29 May 2008 04:30 (eighteen years ago)

I don't even want to think about grades... I can't let my brain go there!
