I have all of those things and come daybreak this morning I really needed them.

suzy, Saturday, 24 May 2008 17:24 (eighteen years ago)

can someone please macguyver me some energy?

tehresa, Saturday, 24 May 2008 18:20 (eighteen years ago)

Do you have a chocolate bar wrapper?

Ned Raggett, Saturday, 24 May 2008 18:43 (eighteen years ago)

To be fair, the chocolate bar itself might be more useful.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 24 May 2008 18:51 (eighteen years ago)

perhaps yes. for now i rely on coffee.

tehresa, Saturday, 24 May 2008 19:02 (eighteen years ago)

I am totally procrastinating on EVERYTHING right now. Maybe coffee would motivate, but I don't have the energy to find out.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 24 May 2008 19:09 (eighteen years ago)

Also resisting the temptation to write my "reflection paper story" (total points possible: ZERO) in detective story fashion.

I took my time trying to locate her apical heart tones. They should have been audible at the fifth intercostal vertebrae, mediastinally on the left hand side of her body, but I could hear nothing. I was forced to investigate further with the help of a Doppler device...

Sara R-C, Saturday, 24 May 2008 19:11 (eighteen years ago)

need coffee for energy. need energy to make coffee. tricky one.

HI!

Upt0eleven, Saturday, 24 May 2008 19:13 (eighteen years ago)

i don't understand many of those words Sara but i like your style. and probably your moxy too, if we're taking the 50s detective approach.

Upt0eleven, Saturday, 24 May 2008 19:16 (eighteen years ago)

sara is this for same prof as limericks? because i think they'd totally appreciate a detective story.

tehresa, Saturday, 24 May 2008 19:24 (eighteen years ago)

Thanks Nick! Basically I was saying, "look for the heartbeat on the left side of the chest." "Vertebrae" really should read "rib," come to think of it. FASCINATING, I KNOW.

Yes, same prof... or set of profs - this class has had four lecturers, three skills lab teachers, and four different clinical instructors - some of that has overlapped, but not all of it. Come to think of it, for all I know, the entire department will be reading whatever tripe I produce!

Sara R-C, Saturday, 24 May 2008 19:41 (eighteen years ago)

My big plans for the afternoon: treadmill, Simpsons, cancer review, endocrine review.

Tonight: Mean Girls and another boozy milkshake. I fear for the eventual effect of this class on my body.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 24 May 2008 19:43 (eighteen years ago)

Nah, I say go for the Raymond Chandler effect, any structure is a bonus if your diagnoses and procedures are correct. Besides, any nurse that can actually write is a total gift to the doctors.

suzy, Saturday, 24 May 2008 21:42 (eighteen years ago)

Yes, they will all fall in love with my fantastic charting prose!

Sara R-C, Saturday, 24 May 2008 23:09 (eighteen years ago)

HI I AM BORED

tehresa, Sunday, 25 May 2008 03:51 (eighteen years ago)

Hi I am wasting time!

Sara R-C, Sunday, 25 May 2008 04:02 (eighteen years ago)

Hi I am full, I had some of this tonight:

http://nedraggett.wordpress.com/2008/05/25/california-zucchini-bake/

Ned Raggett, Sunday, 25 May 2008 04:33 (eighteen years ago)

It is good to know that Ned is out there in the kitchen somewhere. And that he's enjoying it!

Sara R-C, Sunday, 25 May 2008 04:40 (eighteen years ago)

i am watching zodiac now. good so far! god, i heart mark ruffalo so much.

tehresa, Sunday, 25 May 2008 04:51 (eighteen years ago)

We only got through about half an hour of Mean Girls. We are in the middle of planning a trip with another family to Disney World for next Thanksgiving, and the time frame for making food reservations starts tomorrow. So it's been phone calls back and forth all day.

Also, I have failed to study much.

Sara R-C, Sunday, 25 May 2008 05:07 (eighteen years ago)

I'm afraid to see Zodiac, btw!

Sara R-C, Sunday, 25 May 2008 05:07 (eighteen years ago)

Okay, I have now posted on the UTI thread, which must be a sign that I should get to bed. Or at least go away and pretend to study.

'Night all.

Sara R-C, Sunday, 25 May 2008 05:15 (eighteen years ago)

do you guys like the movie star trek iv? because it rules and fuck you if you think otherwise

El Tomboto, Sunday, 25 May 2008 06:47 (eighteen years ago)

I feel like that should be the actual mod policy
we run a poll STAR TREK IV AWESOME OR NOT and everybody who votes NOT is run down and shot in the back of the fucking head for the crime of not being worth another motherfucking minute of my motherfucking time (bonus - guess which noun would go here and win a free grimace air freshener for your vehicle)

good weekend so far

El Tomboto, Sunday, 25 May 2008 06:50 (eighteen years ago)

tehresa i <3 mark ruffalo too! i also thought zodiac was really good - different from most films about serial killers. just got home and have a huge pile of dvds to entertain me.

Rubyredd, Sunday, 25 May 2008 10:13 (eighteen years ago)

I went to ballgame with Dr Morbius and 69!!!

El Tomboto, Sunday, 25 May 2008 10:21 (eighteen years ago)

i'm looking forward to my first experience of watching a big football game in the US.

Rubyredd, Sunday, 25 May 2008 10:24 (eighteen years ago)

baseball soooooo much better than football. but you hate cricket so you wouldn't understand.

Upt0eleven, Sunday, 25 May 2008 13:14 (eighteen years ago)

bah, it's all the same to me: men in tight pants crying over stupid their stupid balls.

Rubyredd, Sunday, 25 May 2008 13:15 (eighteen years ago)

balls are important.

Upt0eleven, Sunday, 25 May 2008 13:17 (eighteen years ago)

although, as a rule, i am opposed to tight trousers.

Upt0eleven, Sunday, 25 May 2008 13:18 (eighteen years ago)

men in tight pants crying over stupid their stupid balls.

No, that's opera.

Ned Raggett, Sunday, 25 May 2008 14:32 (eighteen years ago)

"La noia, le mie sfere è triste," the noted aria from I Pantaloni Stretti

Ned Raggett, Sunday, 25 May 2008 14:35 (eighteen years ago)

woken up by scary noises outside my door AGAIN and can't get back to sleep. AND i'm so fucking thirsty, my water bottle is empty and i'm too much of a scaredy-cat to risk unlocking my door and going inside.

Rubyredd, Sunday, 25 May 2008 16:14 (eighteen years ago)

awww :(

sara, zodiac is not actually as scary as you'd think it'd be. give it a watch!

ruby, i recommend you go for the awesomest sport of all: basketball. who needs helmets or bats? pure human strength is better. and also less confusing to watch than football. baseball is boring unless you're actually at the game.

tehresa, Sunday, 25 May 2008 16:23 (eighteen years ago)

i actually pretty much dislike all sports, but jordan is a huge USC fan so i feel like i should give football-watching a chance. but that's where i draw the line. lucky for me he's not really into other sports, so i don't mind putting a little effort into this one small thing for him.

Rubyredd, Sunday, 25 May 2008 16:32 (eighteen years ago)

jordan is a huge USC fan

WHAT. I should have fined him five times as much.

Signed,
UCLA Class of 1992

Ned Raggett, Sunday, 25 May 2008 16:40 (eighteen years ago)

hahaha Ned.

Okay, I will add Zodiac to my netflix queue, but who knows when I will get to it.

Tom, I don't like to admit this, but I have not seen any Star Trek movies to my memory. I have seen a few episodes of one of the television series... not even sure which one.

Sara R-C, Sunday, 25 May 2008 16:55 (eighteen years ago)

God, sometimes I don't know how I have missed so much pop culture.

RR - I would prefer watching basketball to football myself.

Sara R-C, Sunday, 25 May 2008 16:56 (eighteen years ago)

argh sara, this is even more reason you need to come drink with me!

tehresa, Sunday, 25 May 2008 16:59 (eighteen years ago)

The lack of enough movie/tv watching over the past two decades or the basketball over football preference? (Maybe this all has to do with having dated a football player through high school...?)

Sara R-C, Sunday, 25 May 2008 17:04 (eighteen years ago)

basketball over football preference

tehresa, Sunday, 25 May 2008 17:05 (eighteen years ago)

But I SO wish I could come drink with you because it would be so fun!

Also, Thursday my life turns into several days of hell, and I think I could probably use the drinks and drinking company.

Sara R-C, Sunday, 25 May 2008 17:05 (eighteen years ago)

xpost Ah, clarity!

Sara R-C, Sunday, 25 May 2008 17:05 (eighteen years ago)

ruby you should at least go to a baseball game. the crappy food's great! everyone sings together! it is the best most inclusive most fun usa sport to see, partly for the above and partly because it's a reason to sit outside on a nice day

jergïns, Sunday, 25 May 2008 17:11 (eighteen years ago)

sara: seriously. stow away with john! profs will have to give you an extension if you get 'kidnapped' right?

tehresa, Sunday, 25 May 2008 17:12 (eighteen years ago)

lol, I can imagine explaining that.... "Remember my friend John, from high school who I told you about who got scurvy in college? Well, he's also a KIDNAPPER! And that's how I wound up in New York..."

I wish I could go, too, but honestly I just need to finish up this class so that I can get to "summer vacation." I'd take the final today and start clinicals tomorrow if I could, just to get this all over with.

Sara R-C, Sunday, 25 May 2008 17:17 (eighteen years ago)

you can get through this! if i did, you can!

oh yes and i got letter yesterday re: that scholarship. $1000!

tehresa, Sunday, 25 May 2008 17:29 (eighteen years ago)

/braggin 08

tehresa, Sunday, 25 May 2008 17:30 (eighteen years ago)
