lol that happened to me once -- i twisted ankle while drunk and didn't really pay much attention and then i had this weird tumor on it for a few weeks (it was all swollen and raised, but not black and blue... weirdest thing ever!)

tehresa, Sunday, 11 May 2008 23:52 (eighteen years ago)

ahhh lolcollege.

tehresa, Sunday, 11 May 2008 23:52 (eighteen years ago)

poor wilter, i hope it all gets better soon, i'm glad you had a mighty birthday and that your gf is <3.

i like deeznuts but i was annoyed with how he spoke to bell_labs because it sounded so misogynistic and i am sick of misogyny in the world, but i do think he has apologised sincerely and that it was no more than a terrible misfired joke. some of his jokes are pretty good but not that day. so as long as he doesn't do it again then i am fine with him.
but if he does do it again he will be dead to me.

estela, Sunday, 11 May 2008 23:57 (eighteen years ago)

imo it was too mean to forgive and i'm usually pretty forgiving

jergïns, Monday, 12 May 2008 00:02 (eighteen years ago)

ruby be glad you can't/don't keep up on ilx scandals. so much of it is either petty or depressing

jergïns, Monday, 12 May 2008 00:04 (eighteen years ago)

aw shit poor jon

stet, Monday, 12 May 2008 00:09 (eighteen years ago)

jergz i am a retard: i was going to post yr postcard today but i had to go hide these GPP broadsides in some books at the bookstore near my work. so i'm in there, and it's kinda busy and i'm trying to surreptitiously pick up appropriate books and slide the poems in and i was kinda nervous about being 'questioned' by the staff and i think i accidentally slipped yr postcard in with one of the broadsides :/

sara: your dark orange peel chocolate is on the way! you should get it in about a week or two.

ps. jergz the dude made a super poor taste attempt at humour, it went horribly wrong, he didn't think it through, but he's been apologising all over the place.

Rubyredd, Monday, 12 May 2008 01:00 (eighteen years ago)

i like jergins' approach even though it is sterner than mine. i have got a very high opinion of jergins, you have too i think, ruby, maybe jergins should move to nz, everyone would <3 him.

estela, Monday, 12 May 2008 01:20 (eighteen years ago)

oooh posting things! i think i will do post cards for people who want them when school's out. it would be a fun project!

tehresa, Monday, 12 May 2008 01:22 (eighteen years ago)

posting things is awesome. but i need to go back to the bookstore on my break and try to find that aberhart postcard. goddamnit.

i do indeed have a very high opinion of jergz but i am generally pretty forgiving of ppl - except the occasional situation in which i get extremely extremely stubborn and hold a grudge (but this is rare).

Rubyredd, Monday, 12 May 2008 01:25 (eighteen years ago)

i will do more posting of things once i'm in the US - it's so freakin expensive to post stuff from nz

Rubyredd, Monday, 12 May 2008 01:26 (eighteen years ago)

Yes post stuff from the US to Australia for estela and I plz

wilter, Monday, 12 May 2008 01:27 (eighteen years ago)

i think stamps go up here tomorrow :(

tehresa, Monday, 12 May 2008 01:29 (eighteen years ago)

also i think i am finally done with spreadsheets but that's kind of not good cause now i'm so excited about that i can't focus on the rest of the project!

tehresa, Monday, 12 May 2008 01:30 (eighteen years ago)

I've been fucking around with excel all morning >:O

wilter, Monday, 12 May 2008 01:31 (eighteen years ago)

You have all been so chatty since I went to Hastings and came back!

RR - you are the sweetest!

Everything else I know nothing about. And I don't mean just ILX, I mean anything.

I'm a pretty forgiving person in general, though. Just thought I'd put that out there, you know, just in case.

Sara R-C, Monday, 12 May 2008 01:31 (eighteen years ago)

btw, I think my family now thinks I would rather read about endocrine disorders than talk to them. Which is only true some of the time.

Argh, tehresa, why aren't you closer so that we can finish these vile homeworks and then go drink to their being DONE WITH?!

Sara R-C, Monday, 12 May 2008 01:32 (eighteen years ago)

posting shit from the US is cheaper than from nz - jordan bought me a raincoat and sent it to me and it cost US$22. to send that back to him would probably cost me about NZ $60

Rubyredd, Monday, 12 May 2008 01:34 (eighteen years ago)

Posting stuff to UK from Aus is also retardly expensive.

wilter, Monday, 12 May 2008 01:34 (eighteen years ago)

..but it's still cheaper to buy bike related shit from the uk and get it mailed over than it is to buy it here.

wilter, Monday, 12 May 2008 01:37 (eighteen years ago)

these days, every time we see a gaudily attired cyclist i say to f., 'i wonder if that's wilter,' and he says 'who?' and i say, 'from ilx'.

estela, Monday, 12 May 2008 01:41 (eighteen years ago)

lol i haven't been getting out much these days, now that it's getting colder I have an excellent excuse to be a fat arse.

wilter, Monday, 12 May 2008 01:48 (eighteen years ago)

maybe jergins should move to nz

i think about moving there pretty often. it's my bored-at-work daydream lately. not that seriously, but i'd like to spend 3 months to a year there. cute girls with cute accents? great cities? buncha great outdoors stuff? what else could one want from a country.

jergïns, Monday, 12 May 2008 01:50 (eighteen years ago)

this song has been coming on at work sometimes lately and i think about when my ex-girlfriend met me on the south island and we rented a car and drove out of Nelson and went through Abel Tasman and spent a couple of nights in Collingwood. it probably wasn't perfect at the time but seems so in retrospect.

jergïns, Monday, 12 May 2008 01:53 (eighteen years ago)

i say that about the first three months of 1997

remy bean, Monday, 12 May 2008 01:59 (eighteen years ago)

gf and I are vaguely planning to go to nz, maybe at the end of the yearish, we're also planning to go to London becuase my brother is like insisting we visit him.

You went to Australia too Jergz? If so where'd you go and what did you like/hate?

wilter, Monday, 12 May 2008 01:59 (eighteen years ago)

i wanna go to new zealand!!

Of the 51,000 brochures to be mailed, a total 413 subscriptions from 230 households are expected, representing a 0.008% return. While this return is extremely low, it is expected that the campaign will result in a large number of single ticket sales.

LOL at me and my project but hey this is what they get for forcing me to talk about the subscription model for a single tix org! the sad thing is

tehresa, Monday, 12 May 2008 02:11 (eighteen years ago)

i can't get over how ridiculous this is!!!! and my subs are at 44% increase! hahahahaha

tehresa, Monday, 12 May 2008 02:12 (eighteen years ago)

i always had weird feelings about new zealand cause my elem. school principal was from there and she was a bittttch but it seems so pretty!

tehresa, Monday, 12 May 2008 02:12 (eighteen years ago)

on behalf of nz i apologise for that bad apple.

estela, Monday, 12 May 2008 02:24 (eighteen years ago)

the rest of us are charming and gracious and lovely to behold.

estela, Monday, 12 May 2008 02:25 (eighteen years ago)

NZ looks awfully gorgeous in the movies. That is what I have noticed.

Every online NZ person also is A++++, in my experience!

Sara R-C, Monday, 12 May 2008 02:25 (eighteen years ago)

I'm *finally* going to get on my treadmill in a couple minutes. A. and I are watching Fido, which is a ridiculous social commentary/zombie movie.

My summer is going to involve a lot of movies and books. Fictional ones!

Sara R-C, Monday, 12 May 2008 02:27 (eighteen years ago)

it takes a++++ to know a++++ sara<3

estela, Monday, 12 May 2008 02:27 (eighteen years ago)

jergins we say 'in' the south island, not 'on' the south island. it is new zealish thing

Rubyredd, Monday, 12 May 2008 02:30 (eighteen years ago)

('new zealish' is jordan's invention from a long time ago when we first met)

Rubyredd, Monday, 12 May 2008 02:31 (eighteen years ago)

Every online NZ person also is A++++, in my experience!

i like talking to my mom on mother's day -- she so ridic cheerful

remy bean, Monday, 12 May 2008 03:00 (eighteen years ago)

i felt really guilty on the phone w/ my mom cause i was venting about spreadsheets :(

tehresa, Monday, 12 May 2008 03:10 (eighteen years ago)

don't read if you hate travel stories

where'd you go and what did you like/hate?

i started in sydney and made my way, by train and bus, to cairns, over two weeks. not enough time. i liked the cities a lot: sydney more; brisbane wasn't immedietly striking but it felt comfortable and i liked fortitude valley.

i have not so fond memories of the train ride from sydney to brisbane. as soon as i got on i threw up in the sink and plugged it for the whole ride. gross. i felt bad for everyone else that had to use that bathroom. i have silly memories of byron bay: i wanted weed and i met this australian special forces guy on the train who said he could hook me up. when we got to byron bay a bunch of us trundled to this house, a converted 'backpackers' that was run down and shitty. i got my weed and went to go sleep in the backyard (there were no beds left) but i'm a city boy and didn't even have a blanket to sleep under the stars so i ditched out and found what the hotel claimed was the last room in town, at $200au.

i ended up in Townsville for a few days. i can't remember why. was it because i liked the hotel so much? it was a railway hotel, wrought iron balconies, ceiling fan, bathroom down the hall, $25.

at one point i decided to go inland and took a bus to Charters Towers. it was Anzac Day though so i had nothing to do but sit in a park and read and wait for the bus back.

in looking for the town's name i came across some great town names: Banana. Blackbutt. Conjuboy. Tin Can Bay. thanx au.

jergïns, Monday, 12 May 2008 03:11 (eighteen years ago)

I've done the train ride from Murwillumbah (abt 120km south of bris) to Sydney before, that was fucking horrific.

Coincidentally my old man travels to Charters Towers quite a bit for work

wilter, Monday, 12 May 2008 03:22 (eighteen years ago)

NEW ZEALISH is a brilliant term.

All the Zealers her are the raddest.

Abbott, Monday, 12 May 2008 04:04 (eighteen years ago)

Abbott, Monday, 12 May 2008 04:04 (eighteen years ago)

attn: estela:: new zealish ppl are taking over are GC http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/news/queensland/british-kiwis-taking-over-seq/2008/05/12/1210444280882.html

wilter, Monday, 12 May 2008 04:14 (eighteen years ago)

Okay, I admit, I only know online NZ ilxors, too! But still, all A++++

I feel guilty about basically ignoring my Mother on Mother's Day in favor of trying to memorize a bunch of stuff for the test tomorrow. And she bought us pizza for dinner and everything! Anyway, tehresa, you're not alone in your homework fixation.

Fido was pretty good; now I will take a shower, get a snack, study more and deal with laundry. BLARGH

Sara R-C, Monday, 12 May 2008 04:22 (eighteen years ago)

I know a few New Zealish, all good people!

wilter, Monday, 12 May 2008 04:24 (eighteen years ago)
