tehresa, Saturday, 10 May 2008 14:47 (eighteen years ago)

hahaha don't forget COMMUNITIES!

suzy, Saturday, 10 May 2008 15:31 (eighteen years ago)

my watch officer left a voicemail last night asking me why and how we got so blasted. it made me feel better.

El Tomboto, Saturday, 10 May 2008 16:25 (eighteen years ago)

cause last night peoples got FUCKED UP

El Tomboto, Saturday, 10 May 2008 16:29 (eighteen years ago)

i dont know or want to know what a watch officer is but that sounds like incredibly good news as long as you subtly let him know it was his fault xp

deeznuts, Saturday, 10 May 2008 16:30 (eighteen years ago)

1. boss had to be escorted, so drunk he could not walk to his car (wife drove)
2. ex-dev chief, wife, and our missouri telecommuter flown in for the week were staggered (did jager shots with them myself) and ppl at my table requested I follow them out to ensure they were properly put inside a taxicab
3. see above about voicemail because ha ha WHOOPSIE DAISY yeah I don't really remember how I got home either

El Tomboto, Saturday, 10 May 2008 16:33 (eighteen years ago)

I can't get the phrase DRUNKITY DRUNKO the DRUNKTRON DRINKER out of my head. I'm also really impressed with myself to be awake at noon.

El Tomboto, Saturday, 10 May 2008 16:35 (eighteen years ago)

Tom, YOU had quite a night last night!!!

RR, wow, your boss.

tehresa - glad you are making some progress (?)

suzy - you rock! (hmmmmm, what do you know about glomerular filtration rates...?)

Sara R-C, Saturday, 10 May 2008 17:01 (eighteen years ago)

i am pretending to make progress, though really not that much. i just folded 'audience profile' into 'sales trends' and called it 'sales trends and audience breakdown' a very brief guess-analysis and then all the demo and psycho stuff will go into customer profile.

totally jealous of tom's night.

tehresa, Saturday, 10 May 2008 17:19 (eighteen years ago)

so i went out drinking w. coworkers, such as they are, last night. it was very nice and all, but i really hate being 'new guy' and having to explain my sordid and somewhat depressing past - and my constant evasions really draw more attention than anything else - so it was very meh.

remy bean, Saturday, 10 May 2008 18:05 (eighteen years ago)

you just need to stop having a sordid and depressing past
I recommend herbie hancock

El Tomboto, Saturday, 10 May 2008 18:06 (eighteen years ago)

and a divorce, everybody understands divorce "oh yeah, been there!"

El Tomboto, Saturday, 10 May 2008 18:06 (eighteen years ago)

I HAVEN'T.

hah sorry tom just lashing out bc my brain is fried.

hi remy!

tehresa, Saturday, 10 May 2008 18:11 (eighteen years ago)

Hello remy!

It is easier to get divorced once you have been married, at least that is my understanding of the situation. Just sayin'.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 10 May 2008 18:14 (eighteen years ago)

see, it's all so much damn work.

tehresa, Saturday, 10 May 2008 18:14 (eighteen years ago)

I just try to laugh about my sordid and depressing past!

Curt1s Stephens, Saturday, 10 May 2008 18:14 (eighteen years ago)

dude you're like 15 you don't even have a past yet

El Tomboto, Saturday, 10 May 2008 18:16 (eighteen years ago)

lolol i just heard my roommate ask the girl houseguest 'what do girls think about texting?' i think as a means of setting up daets.

tehresa, Saturday, 10 May 2008 18:18 (eighteen years ago)

apparently he does not like it because it takes him too long to type the texts, and also he does not like texting charges. would rather call and get immediate answer. she seems kind of indifferent.

tehresa, Saturday, 10 May 2008 18:18 (eighteen years ago)

crutis's sordid and depressing past is posting on ilx since the age of 12

max, Saturday, 10 May 2008 18:21 (eighteen years ago)

That might qualify as depressing, but "sordid" does seem like a bit of a reach.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 10 May 2008 18:25 (eighteen years ago)

remember dante?

remy bean, Saturday, 10 May 2008 18:27 (eighteen years ago)

I think I maybe finally crossed the rubicon into some perma-buzz kind of state. I've been up and about for 3 hours and no headache yet, no big downturn in mood, either I have a new girlfriend or I drank some kind of magic potion

El Tomboto, Saturday, 10 May 2008 19:09 (eighteen years ago)

Well, yay to whatever is making you feeling crazy cheerful!

I'm off to walk on my treadmill for the next eternity.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 10 May 2008 19:23 (eighteen years ago)

huururrrrrrrghgghghghhhhhh

John Justen, Saturday, 10 May 2008 20:02 (eighteen years ago)

i am tired and all of the bits of me are not only hurt, but loudly complaining

John Justen, Saturday, 10 May 2008 20:02 (eighteen years ago)

i think i am developing a caffeine immunity. not good.

tehresa, Saturday, 10 May 2008 20:21 (eighteen years ago)

I am wearing a white button-down for the first time in ages and it feels all right

El Tomboto, Saturday, 10 May 2008 20:27 (eighteen years ago)

officially the most boring and insipid tweet-like bullshit post I have ever made

El Tomboto, Saturday, 10 May 2008 20:28 (eighteen years ago)

thanks

El Tomboto, Saturday, 10 May 2008 20:28 (eighteen years ago)

El Tomboto, Saturday, 10 May 2008 20:28 (eighteen years ago)

tehresa, Saturday, 10 May 2008 20:29 (eighteen years ago)

Rubyredd, Saturday, 10 May 2008 21:00 (eighteen years ago)

I like your internal dialogue Mr. Bot.

Abbott, Saturday, 10 May 2008 21:06 (eighteen years ago)

It is weirdly cheering.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 10 May 2008 21:43 (eighteen years ago)

guys it's wilter's birthday today. i'm gonna go start a thread. see you over there.

Rubyredd, Saturday, 10 May 2008 23:09 (eighteen years ago)

hb wilter whatever
I am taking a break from conversing with drunks because I have been summoned to another bar by some other old vet who is in my town without permission, the fuck

I just threw a bruised chunk of banana into my toilet and my immediate thought was "TAKING OUT THE MIDDLEMAN!!" which was true and horrifying

El Tomboto, Sunday, 11 May 2008 01:49 (eighteen years ago)

also yes I think the state of being that I am in is that I have a girl with a crib and I will call her

El Tomboto, Sunday, 11 May 2008 01:52 (eighteen years ago)

i finally cracked and left the house to go eat thai food with a friend. now i have to get back to work and i am not happy about it after a stressed phone call from a classmate and fellow project sufferer.

tehresa, Sunday, 11 May 2008 01:53 (eighteen years ago)

why were you eating banana in the bathroom?

i think i might actually die from boredom today. OMFG I HATE THIS JOB SO BAD.

in good news: some letterpress printer/book collector friends of me and jordan are in SF this weekend, and jordan has been hanging out, meeting peeps and doing some networking for me. he met a guy who is a printer with connections to the whole bay area printer network, so i may have some hookups when i get there.

Rubyredd, Sunday, 11 May 2008 02:03 (eighteen years ago)

omg just got a SECOND freak out phone call from same person. i am going to stop answering my phone because now i've wasted 30 minutes.

ruby which job is today's?

hookups = awesome! esp in our current job market! yay!

tehresa, Sunday, 11 May 2008 02:08 (eighteen years ago)

i'm at the dumb shoestore right now, then i go to the restaurant afterwards, which will be busy cuz it's mothers' day.

btw HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, SARA!!

Rubyredd, Sunday, 11 May 2008 02:40 (eighteen years ago)

where do you guys recommend for good quality semi-affordable jeans?

Rubyredd, Sunday, 11 May 2008 02:48 (eighteen years ago)

I have been reading a zillion pages of nursing textbooks, and I'm nowhere near the halfway mark.

RR - thanks so much for Mother's Day wishes! Um, I better call my Mom tomorrow and pass it on to her, huh.

re: jeans - I have a terrible time buying them because they usually don't fit (I am pretty short, but my legs are longer - so petites are too short, but regulars are too long; my waist is disproportionate to my legs and hips also... APPARENTLY). The last pairs of jeans I have purchased have been at Macy's; a cheap-ish brand called Style & Co. BUT THEY FIT ME! And they wear well. And they are maybe $30 a pair.

Sara R-C, Sunday, 11 May 2008 03:14 (eighteen years ago)

i like uniqlo. also, laurel recommends levis!
honestly i haven't been jeans shopping in AGES and need to do this soon. but not yet...

tehresa, Sunday, 11 May 2008 03:17 (eighteen years ago)

wow awesome! yeah i haven't bought jeans in ages cuz i have so much trouble finding ones that fit - short legs, big thighs, huge hips, narrow waist (i got 40" hips to try and balance with a 28" waist, it's a goddamn pain), and i hate when lowrider jeans stretch out too much and then i spend all day long pulling them up so i don't flash my underwear to the entire world.

Rubyredd, Sunday, 11 May 2008 03:17 (eighteen years ago)

I have never owned a pair of Levis in my entire life, but I have always wanted to. SOMEDAY

Women's sizes, especially for pants, make zero sense and are impossible to work with.

I would love to have a small waist! ;_;

Sara R-C, Sunday, 11 May 2008 03:26 (eighteen years ago)

a small waist is one thing, but not when it's always competing with relatively huge hips. i like your US sizing: in nz i'm a 12 but in the US i'm a 6!! makes me feel TINY!

Rubyredd, Sunday, 11 May 2008 03:33 (eighteen years ago)

See, I'm the reverse; the only reason I have hips at all is that I had teh babies.

Sara R-C, Sunday, 11 May 2008 04:11 (eighteen years ago)

Okay, my study break is over; time to go read a pharmacology chapter about diuretics. ;_;
