also had a 17 year old dog that was deaf and blind and thus would try to do crafty things like cleverly escaping outside and then cagily hiding in plain view

John Justen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:40 (eighteen years ago)

Wow I want to go back in time and meet your grandmother AND her dog!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:41 (eighteen years ago)

see i would like to live w/ a deaf person who slept ALL the time.

tehresa, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:43 (eighteen years ago)

I don't know; if John's grandmother was anything like his mom, you'd probably appreciate her being awake. (I was always envious of both John and Dan's mothers, who are both v. cool, although very different from each other).

Sara R-C, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:46 (eighteen years ago)

old people make me feel awkward. even when they are awesome, i am really weird around them.

tehresa, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:49 (eighteen years ago)

see i deal with so many badass rough and tumble old gruff guitar dudes at the shop that i have realized that most of them are cooler than my similarly aged and younger band friends

John Justen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:52 (eighteen years ago)

Hmmmm. I think my problem is that, if there is silence, I feel like I have to fill it somehow - and sometimes older people don't say much (at least no one at the nursing home we did clinicals at last semester for my CNA class talked much). So I feel like, OMG I am rattling on even worse than usual and that makes me feel self-conscious and that makes me rattle on MORE...

But I am kind of imagining John's grandma as being hilarious and witty, like her daughter. Of course I have no idea, though!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:52 (eighteen years ago)

i love old dudes like jack lemmon but i feel like if i had to hang out w/ him i would get all weird.

tehresa, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:53 (eighteen years ago)

like the time that this 90 year old polka dude stopped talking to me in midsentence, walked over to some kid that was playing "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and asked him "What the fuck are you doing? What is wrong with you?"

John Justen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:53 (eighteen years ago)

old dudes living out my dreams

John Justen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:54 (eighteen years ago)

i'm like walter mitty, but with crusty old dudes

John Justen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:54 (eighteen years ago)

see, i think that is total badass awesome but if i was in a room w/ that dude for 15 min i wouldn't know what to do.

tehresa, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:54 (eighteen years ago)

I was always relieved when John's MOM answered the phone at his house, especially when, say, I had called collect pretending to be his most embarrassing ex-girlfriend or just a totally made up person.

John's mom = very funny and easy to talk to.

Dan's mom = very nice and I always thought very elegant as well.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:55 (eighteen years ago)

god you guys can type WAY too fast

Sara R-C, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:55 (eighteen years ago)

oh by the way, i misidentified one of the you tubes up there. that is clearly modded Dance Dance Revolution 2, not Guitar Hero 2. my bad

John Justen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:57 (eighteen years ago)

i'll never get into valhalla if i keep this up

John Justen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:57 (eighteen years ago)

Just have to hang around in the 9th circle of Hell with the rest of us.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:59 (eighteen years ago)

ok i am going to go pack some more books, and then go to sleep

John Justen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:59 (eighteen years ago)

i do appreciate that you are reaching for the hell stars, sara, it is a sign of good breeding and aspiration

John Justen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 06:00 (eighteen years ago)

oh by the way i am never allowed to buy anything ever again, this is what i have learned from putting all of my anything into boxes

John Justen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 06:00 (eighteen years ago)

except booze and food that comes in microwavable containers

John Justen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 06:01 (eighteen years ago)

John Justen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 06:01 (eighteen years ago)

Yes, well, I'll see you in Hell then, sir!

(but I mean that in a good way...)

Sara R-C, Thursday, 8 May 2008 06:02 (eighteen years ago)

Okay, I should give up and sleep, too.

'Night all.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 8 May 2008 06:19 (eighteen years ago)

me too. bonne nuit!

tehresa, Thursday, 8 May 2008 06:20 (eighteen years ago)

Woah. Shit went down in this bitch while I slept. And I missed the magical moment of 12000 too :(

Upt0eleven, Thursday, 8 May 2008 08:26 (eighteen years ago)

bump

Rubyredd, Thursday, 8 May 2008 11:15 (eighteen years ago)

i wish you were all awake when i get home from work at night, because this is the time i feel chattiest and jordan is asleep. i wake him up to say hi, and i rattle on a bit about my night, but he's usually so out of it all he can manage is some mewling sounds and a few 'yeah?'s.

Rubyredd, Thursday, 8 May 2008 11:17 (eighteen years ago)

altho he did start singing to me the other night when i woke him up, which was awesome

Rubyredd, Thursday, 8 May 2008 11:17 (eighteen years ago)

look I'M here. and chatty as woah. I had a dream about Mark's office the other night. He has some lovely ladies there.

Upt0eleven, Thursday, 8 May 2008 11:32 (eighteen years ago)

that sounds dodgy...

Rubyredd, Thursday, 8 May 2008 11:40 (eighteen years ago)

it wasn't. honest.

Upt0eleven, Thursday, 8 May 2008 11:42 (eighteen years ago)

Okay dudes I'm on the last page of this paper I've been working on through the night, and I've got an hour left until I need to leave for school, so I'm automatically turning to ilx and other distractions in a pretty obvious sub-conscious attempt to make sure that I only finish it with minutes to spare.

What kind of awful stress addict have I become?

en i see kay, Thursday, 8 May 2008 12:14 (eighteen years ago)

Rubyredd, Thursday, 8 May 2008 12:15 (eighteen years ago)

Rubyredd, Thursday, 8 May 2008 12:15 (eighteen years ago)

YES MA'AM.

THANK YOU ITR HERO "RUBES" FOR YOUR HELP IN THIS TIME OF NEED.

en i see kay, Thursday, 8 May 2008 12:18 (eighteen years ago)

DO NO MORE WORK

Upt0eleven, Thursday, 8 May 2008 12:21 (eighteen years ago)

aw rr, that singing thing is v. sweet!

i woke up a full hour before alarm bc of condo construction noizes oy! i guess this will be good as i might actually be on time for work today?

tehresa, Thursday, 8 May 2008 12:23 (eighteen years ago)

oh and btw, up an hour before alarm is insane because i usually don't even get up when it goes off - i hit snooze for at least an hour.

tehresa, Thursday, 8 May 2008 12:24 (eighteen years ago)

Nick, who were you dreaming about, you dog :)

Rubes, if you're still up I'm always chattable! Though I do need to go get some lunch maybe...

Mark C, Thursday, 8 May 2008 12:25 (eighteen years ago)

My alarm is set for 8.10 but I don't get up till 8.55.

Mark C, Thursday, 8 May 2008 12:25 (eighteen years ago)

I remember there was a f'realz hot redhead there who was very welcoming and who reminded me of Ginny Weasley a bit but in a "it's okay to think u r ROWR cos you are not 12" kinda way. may have shared too much there but woteva treva.

Upt0eleven, Thursday, 8 May 2008 12:33 (eighteen years ago)

GOOD BOY N.I.C.K.

tehresa, at the risk of sounding gushy, it really was the cutest thing! he sings to me a lot, but it was just funny that one minute he was half asleep and the next he was singing me a love song... i almost got a tear in my eye!

Rubyredd, Thursday, 8 May 2008 12:38 (eighteen years ago)

mark, i gotta crash soon, work in the morning :(

Rubyredd, Thursday, 8 May 2008 12:39 (eighteen years ago)

Okay, done and printed.

Once again I have produced a sizable paper that I would find mediocre if I read it in a journal, but knowing that I wrote it in four and a half hours find to be fucking amazing.

Upt0eleven, Thursday, 8 May 2008 12:59 (eighteen years ago)

hehe, itr has a proven history of down to the wire papers/assignments/test studying that seems to turn out really well! so, good job!

tehresa, Thursday, 8 May 2008 13:00 (eighteen years ago)

oh dear, hot, humid and sticky today. gross.

tehresa, Thursday, 8 May 2008 13:33 (eighteen years ago)

we have the hotness and because i am planted in a huge leatherette chair i am personally quite sticky and gross.

I have great admiration for anyone able to write a whole paper in a matter of hours. i never had the cuervos to leave an entire essay right to the last minute because i was always a feared that my brane would broek under the pressure. I never finished anything in good time but that's cos footnotes and bibliographies are sooo fucking tedious to do.

Upt0eleven, Thursday, 8 May 2008 13:46 (eighteen years ago)

I can't believe we passed the 12K mark on this thread, wau

I can't remember, did I post the reviews of my opera?
