FLUFFY BEAR SIGHTING ALERT ALERT FLUFFY BEAR HE IS SIGHTED

John Justen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 01:53 (eighteen years ago)

Still sunburnt Y/N

Still drunk Y/N

Sara R-C, Thursday, 8 May 2008 01:54 (eighteen years ago)

i dont know i only saw him over there on that other part of the internet inventing drinks

John Justen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 01:55 (eighteen years ago)

I assume that if you lose him tonight, you will not have to put on that parka again, John. When you were walking to the backyard in that thing I had a total flashback to John Carpenter's The Thing.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 8 May 2008 01:55 (eighteen years ago)

Wow, FB still inventing after the clamato/beer stuff. He's got gumption.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 8 May 2008 01:56 (eighteen years ago)

Okay, if I don't get on the treadmill soon, I will be walking after midnight... in my freaking living room!

Later guys.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 8 May 2008 01:56 (eighteen years ago)

yeah i did sara, but i don't have kids or a household to run

Rubyredd, Thursday, 8 May 2008 01:59 (eighteen years ago)

I think, JJ, it might be better if you try clamateer again but w/the Clamato energy drink, ¡Energia!

RR, my house is a terrifying disaster right now and I'm a crap mom and bad wife lately as well.

Also, I'm apparently pretty stressed as I watched two Simpsons episodes and they both made me cry. Also, I had a brief conversation on the phone with D3an, and I think I'm probably going to have to apologize tomorrow. But I was really busy!

Ugh, I suck.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 8 May 2008 03:54 (eighteen years ago)

Is your semester ending, Sara?

Mine is way less I'm sure because I'm just a student, but at the end of every semester I totally get that where I'm gettin' all teary when I hear some steel guitar flipping through the radio or some shit.

I'm also a huge wimp, that may account for it a bit.

en i see kay, Thursday, 8 May 2008 04:01 (eighteen years ago)

I'm like a guy brandishing a gun in a crowded place all "GIMME A REASON, I DARE YOU" except instead of a gun it's a reservoir of approximately five tears and instead of a crowded place its commonly used pop culture tropes.

en i see kay, Thursday, 8 May 2008 04:04 (eighteen years ago)

My semester will end in June, so we've got a ways to go; this has just been an intense last few weeks. I have Saturday AND Sunday off, which is good because next week I will be at the hospital Wednesday afternoon, Thursday night, Friday night, 7-3:30 on Saturday and 7-3:30 on Sunday. And then we have a big care plan due on Monday night (btw I have no idea how to write that).

But yeah, I'm exactly as you describe, en_i_see_kay. Are you secretly my fraternal twin? One of the things that made me cry on Simpsons was a Carpenter's song (yes, I KNOW how ridiculous that is).

Sara R-C, Thursday, 8 May 2008 04:33 (eighteen years ago)

lord this time of year just SUCKS IT.

if i finish my marketing plan really well by tuesday i don't even care wha i get on my other exams the following week.

tehresa, Thursday, 8 May 2008 04:49 (eighteen years ago)

also rr should listen to estela re: crazy overproductive (or pretending to be overproductive while whining about the stress) american types.

tehresa, Thursday, 8 May 2008 04:50 (eighteen years ago)

I'm just going to be happy if I make it through this goofy presentation tomorrow night at this point. tehresa - hang in there!!!

You know what is annoying is that non-student people are probably out there, enjoying the weather (which is finally decent here) and relaxing.

ARGH

Sara R-C, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:01 (eighteen years ago)

I am listening to loud evil music. This is a good thing.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:02 (eighteen years ago)

the fact that all the artists on Paganfest are on emusic = multiple less than threes

John Justen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:04 (eighteen years ago)

wait so should i go to paganfest?

tehresa, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:08 (eighteen years ago)

multiple less than threes

Is this some kind of secret code they taught you at the recitation of the rosary on Sunday, John?

Sara R-C, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:08 (eighteen years ago)

if you are down for nordic folk metal featuring hurdygurdy, then yes xpost

John Justen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:09 (eighteen years ago)

so yes

John Justen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:09 (eighteen years ago)

sara i will leave it for you as a thought experiment

John Justen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:09 (eighteen years ago)

sounds kinda cool, tho not my norm. i war invited today and had never heard of it before.

tehresa, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:10 (eighteen years ago)

John, believe me, imagining you as a Catholic is a thought experiment I tried a long time ago.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:12 (eighteen years ago)

admittedly only one of the four bands feature a hurdygurdy (Eluveitie), but Turisas has accordian and violin, Ensiferium is sort of some odd serious version of Dethklok (complete with KEYBOARD STAND MADE OUT OF SCARRED BATTLESHIELD AND BROADSWORDS), and Tyr, well, Tyr were not as fun as the others but had some great moments

xpost i am genetically catholic, that shit runs deep yo

John Justen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:13 (eighteen years ago)

sounds awesome.

wilter, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:16 (eighteen years ago)

fo real. deep.

xpost

tehresa, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:16 (eighteen years ago)

lol at "genetically Catholic," but at the same time, YES.

Wait, was it the grandmother you lived with who was Catholic?

Sara R-C, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:25 (eighteen years ago)

oh and yes Grandma McGibbon was decidedly irish catholic through and through, complete with the jesus inviting you in/last supper/brothers kennedy painting triad of wall art

John Justen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:31 (eighteen years ago)

lol, your grandma sounds like she was ADORABLE

Sara R-C, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:33 (eighteen years ago)

lol awesomest trifecta ever

tehresa, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:36 (eighteen years ago)

oh and to clarify only i would probably be chastised for using folk metal to describe them all, the battle/viking genres are more apt for some. The main meh reaction i had was to Tyr who sounded a little like black album metallica to me, which is of course probably just because the lead singer, like James Hetfield, does not speak English very well

xxpost oh she was, but especially since she slept even less than me and was stone deaf, which was sort of a dream live-in caretaker deal

John Justen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:38 (eighteen years ago)

actually, kind of a dream housemate in general sort of deal

John Justen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:38 (eighteen years ago)

John likes to live with deaf insomniacs, apparently.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:39 (eighteen years ago)

also had a 17 year old dog that was deaf and blind and thus would try to do crafty things like cleverly escaping outside and then cagily hiding in plain view

John Justen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:40 (eighteen years ago)

Wow I want to go back in time and meet your grandmother AND her dog!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:41 (eighteen years ago)

see i would like to live w/ a deaf person who slept ALL the time.

tehresa, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:43 (eighteen years ago)

I don't know; if John's grandmother was anything like his mom, you'd probably appreciate her being awake. (I was always envious of both John and Dan's mothers, who are both v. cool, although very different from each other).

Sara R-C, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:46 (eighteen years ago)

old people make me feel awkward. even when they are awesome, i am really weird around them.

tehresa, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:49 (eighteen years ago)

see i deal with so many badass rough and tumble old gruff guitar dudes at the shop that i have realized that most of them are cooler than my similarly aged and younger band friends

John Justen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:52 (eighteen years ago)

Hmmmm. I think my problem is that, if there is silence, I feel like I have to fill it somehow - and sometimes older people don't say much (at least no one at the nursing home we did clinicals at last semester for my CNA class talked much). So I feel like, OMG I am rattling on even worse than usual and that makes me feel self-conscious and that makes me rattle on MORE...

But I am kind of imagining John's grandma as being hilarious and witty, like her daughter. Of course I have no idea, though!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:52 (eighteen years ago)

i love old dudes like jack lemmon but i feel like if i had to hang out w/ him i would get all weird.

tehresa, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:53 (eighteen years ago)

like the time that this 90 year old polka dude stopped talking to me in midsentence, walked over to some kid that was playing "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and asked him "What the fuck are you doing? What is wrong with you?"

John Justen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:53 (eighteen years ago)

old dudes living out my dreams

John Justen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:54 (eighteen years ago)

i'm like walter mitty, but with crusty old dudes

John Justen, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:54 (eighteen years ago)

see, i think that is total badass awesome but if i was in a room w/ that dude for 15 min i wouldn't know what to do.

tehresa, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:54 (eighteen years ago)

I was always relieved when John's MOM answered the phone at his house, especially when, say, I had called collect pretending to be his most embarrassing ex-girlfriend or just a totally made up person.

John's mom = very funny and easy to talk to.

Dan's mom = very nice and I always thought very elegant as well.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:55 (eighteen years ago)

god you guys can type WAY too fast

Sara R-C, Thursday, 8 May 2008 05:55 (eighteen years ago)

oh by the way, i misidentified one of the you tubes up there. that is clearly modded Dance Dance Revolution 2, not Guitar Hero 2. my bad
