thx tehresa!

SO EXCITED for RR! And ENVIOUS, too, right now. Seriously!

Sara R-C, Friday, 2 May 2008 05:25 (eighteen years ago)

me too. i am worried about making it through the next three weeks, much less the next year before i get my mfa.

tehresa, Friday, 2 May 2008 05:28 (eighteen years ago)

haha you guys are doing REAL WORK - i just did a bum undergrad degree in english lit. you pretty much have to be retarded to not get a degree in the end, even if it takes more than 6 yrs of study...

Rubyredd, Friday, 2 May 2008 05:30 (eighteen years ago)

don't sell yourself short! you worked and overcame whatever difficulties you encountered and have a fucking degree!

tehresa, Friday, 2 May 2008 05:34 (eighteen years ago)

aww thanks tza, but i just feel like i didn't get much out of it, and it took 6 yrs to do what i could have done in 2.5 yrs if i'd really tried. but such is life :/

Rubyredd, Friday, 2 May 2008 05:53 (eighteen years ago)

RR, I feel like I should have done what I'm doing right now when I was in college the FIRST time. (In fact, I am most annoyed with myself about it at moments).

No need to kick yourself for taking 6 years... sure, I have a degree already, but I am still in school and I'm 36 freaking years old! (Seriously, the combination of grey hairs and the beginnings of wrinkles along with stress-caused pimples is NOT PRETTY)

Sara R-C, Friday, 2 May 2008 05:56 (eighteen years ago)

sara, 36 is nothing! my mom went back in her 40s, and my dad started law school when he turned 50.

tehresa, Friday, 2 May 2008 06:00 (eighteen years ago)

I used to think I would go back again to graduate school someday, but right now I just want to take a big nap.

haha, A. spent part of tonight giving me a pep talk about how our friend D3an must be feeling, since he started med school this year at age 38.

Sara R-C, Friday, 2 May 2008 06:05 (eighteen years ago)

But thanks, tehresa; I just have to get through a few weeks and then summer vacation will bore me into wanting to be back in school again, I am sure.

Sara R-C, Friday, 2 May 2008 06:06 (eighteen years ago)

THE FACE ACCIDENTS ARE AWESOME

El Tomboto, Friday, 2 May 2008 06:12 (eighteen years ago)

Tom, that sounds terrifying!

I am going to bed now because I am losing any semblance of coherence that I once hand.

'Night all. <3 <3 <3

Sara R-C, Friday, 2 May 2008 06:13 (eighteen years ago)

no seriously I think everybody here would be able to appreciate what I have seen this evening
a couple of ilxors and a seriously incomprehensible irish native did a set of tunes that were all completely fucking great
fucking jetwash from a three-piece
and then the one time the drummer's best platonic chick friend came on stage to be all WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST DOES SHOEGAZE EXCEPT ALSO THE WITCH IN QUESTION IS BOMBO HOT AND WEARING SHORT SHORTS

me and I DIED grinned with such tenacity our faces began to ache

El Tomboto, Friday, 2 May 2008 06:22 (eighteen years ago)

aw

that sounds way funner than my night

tehresa, Friday, 2 May 2008 06:24 (eighteen years ago)

hey i'm drunk

John Justen, Friday, 2 May 2008 06:24 (eighteen years ago)

YEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHH!

John Justen, Friday, 2 May 2008 06:25 (eighteen years ago)

hi dere!

tehresa, Friday, 2 May 2008 06:26 (eighteen years ago)

seriously I have no reason to hate the former non-ilx guitarist/lead singer of the fake accents because everytime I've talked to him he was stone cool but if he was the ingredient that was holding them back from this sound then man, it is hard not to have a little bit of animosity. indie jackass

El Tomboto, Friday, 2 May 2008 06:28 (eighteen years ago)

home from work bumpity bump

Rubyredd, Friday, 2 May 2008 12:18 (eighteen years ago)

ruby, congratulations on graduating, that is great. and don't worry about what year you finished it, if you'd done things any differently your life would be different too, and you mightn't be heading off to see your boy because you might not know him, which is a sad thought.
and congratulations to all the other itr swots also, well done all of you.

estela, Friday, 2 May 2008 13:15 (eighteen years ago)

estela, that is the realisation i came to recently: if i hadn't dicked around, i wouldn't be a recent graduate and i would not be eligible for the one year work visa to the US, so it was all just meant to be, i guess.

Rubyredd, Friday, 2 May 2008 13:25 (eighteen years ago)

yes!

estela, Friday, 2 May 2008 13:49 (eighteen years ago)

Tom, it sounds like you had FUN last night!

I didn't sleep well and I'm going to go lie down again shortly because I am a horribly crabby person at the moment. But good morning anyway!

Sara R-C, Friday, 2 May 2008 14:01 (eighteen years ago)

hi sara, good morning, i have to go to sleep soon too.

estela, Friday, 2 May 2008 14:05 (eighteen years ago)

^^^^^^^ THIS IS A REAL AD FROM AN IOWA BAGEL PLACE

I MAY HAVE TO TAKE BACK EVERY MEAN JOKE I'VE EVER MADE ABOUT IOWA

HI DERE, Friday, 2 May 2008 14:13 (eighteen years ago)

ha ha ha wow.

Sara R-C, Friday, 2 May 2008 14:17 (eighteen years ago)

those adverstisers really thinking outside the box. i would most likely buy a vagina bagel.

Upt0eleven, Friday, 2 May 2008 14:22 (eighteen years ago)

Apparently, this ad was running in conjunction with their support of a local production of "The Vagina Monologues". They kind of forgot to mention that, though.

HI DERE, Friday, 2 May 2008 14:24 (eighteen years ago)

i'm thinking about that salt beef bagel i had last weekend in a quite different light now.

Upt0eleven, Friday, 2 May 2008 14:34 (eighteen years ago)

you always gotta take it that one step further

Rubyredd, Friday, 2 May 2008 14:54 (eighteen years ago)

i had two beers with lunch.

Upt0eleven, Friday, 2 May 2008 14:59 (eighteen years ago)

I MAY HAVE TO TAKE BACK EVERY MEAN JOKE I'VE EVER MADE ABOUT IOWA

No you don't. It was actually from Idaho. Continue abusing Iowa as you have always done.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 2 May 2008 15:33 (eighteen years ago)

Idaho: Land of potatoes and vagina bagels.

HI DERE, Friday, 2 May 2008 15:38 (eighteen years ago)

Two great tastes...well anyway.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 2 May 2008 15:41 (eighteen years ago)

guys, my parents will be here in an hour and a half

HI DERE, Friday, 2 May 2008 16:38 (eighteen years ago)

For a second I'm all "On this board?" and my worldview suddenly transmogrified.

What's the weekend plans for them?

Ned Raggett, Friday, 2 May 2008 16:44 (eighteen years ago)

Step 1: collect underpants
Step 2: ...
Step 3: PROFIT

HI DERE, Friday, 2 May 2008 16:52 (eighteen years ago)

The ellipsis of doom.

(Which I initially typed as 'the ellipsis of dom' -- which is problematic on several levels.)

Ned Raggett, Friday, 2 May 2008 16:54 (eighteen years ago)

Actually, they're going to see the opera I'm doing tonight and then we're going to a nice French bistro for dinner tomorrow night.

HI DERE, Friday, 2 May 2008 17:00 (eighteen years ago)

My first reaction to "parents are coming" was OH MY GOD HOW DOES YOUR HOUSE LOOK?

But see, part of the reason I have a cat is because my mother is afraid of cats, and so I don't often have to panic about the standards I can't live up to.

Dan, your weekend with your parents sounds like great fun! And I'm sure you will impress them with your vast new Italian knowledge.

Sara R-C, Friday, 2 May 2008 17:13 (eighteen years ago)

Avviva! Bevviam, bevviam!
Nel vino cerciam, almeno un piacer!

HI DERE, Friday, 2 May 2008 17:16 (eighteen years ago)

Well, *I'm* impressed anyway.

Sara R-C, Friday, 2 May 2008 17:16 (eighteen years ago)

are you going to petit robert dan?

jessie monster, Friday, 2 May 2008 18:20 (eighteen years ago)

I dearly hope that is the name of a restaurant.

Sara R-C, Friday, 2 May 2008 19:23 (eighteen years ago)

good morning/afternoon i am very tired and frantically trying to find someone to go to the orchestra/ballet with me tonight because we ended up with an extra ticket. yikes. it is in like 4 hours.

tehresa, Friday, 2 May 2008 19:29 (eighteen years ago)

z-post -- "Say hello to little bobbin' Bob."

Ned Raggett, Friday, 2 May 2008 19:29 (eighteen years ago)

Ned always finds a way to make the bad sound so much worse.

xpost DAMN these time/space/money issues. I wish I were going to the ballet tonight!

Sara R-C, Friday, 2 May 2008 19:35 (eighteen years ago)

awwww i would love to take you to the orchestra/ballet!

tehresa, Friday, 2 May 2008 19:51 (eighteen years ago)

I am that dude who goes to see summer blockbusters with his coworkers on friday night.

El Tomboto, Friday, 2 May 2008 20:00 (eighteen years ago)
