Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:44 (eighteen years ago)

i pulled my vogel's extra grainy toast out of the toaster and there was a greeny brown thing on it

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:45 (eighteen years ago)

it was an aphid

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:45 (eighteen years ago)

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:46 (eighteen years ago)

i meant to say 'it would be really lovely of you to email me some more songs, since i so liked the other ones you sent me'

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:47 (eighteen years ago)

Upt0eleven, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:47 (eighteen years ago)

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:48 (eighteen years ago)

haha good timing: 'girl with a dirty mouth' just started up on my itunes

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:49 (eighteen years ago)

woops, that italic was meant to be a strikethrough. i are a spazzer.

that's a choon bruv.

Upt0eleven, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:49 (eighteen years ago)

actually the correct title is 'dirty girl'

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:50 (eighteen years ago)

when i get home i will email you some songs by some bands on my friend's record label. there's a new one on goosesmoke at the moment that is quite Nick Drake-esque. that might do for now.

Upt0eleven, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:52 (eighteen years ago)

Can't get a word in edgeways!

There was a moth in my microwave yesterday. I couldn't bring myself to turn it on.

Mark C, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:55 (eighteen years ago)

my house is experiencing a moth invasion at the moment. you should totally nuke 'em, nuke the bastards.

Upt0eleven, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:57 (eighteen years ago)

Fucking moths. I am killing half a dozen a day but it's making no difference. I am not looking forward to the larval stage of the cycle - it was really rank last time (low point - when the grubs pop as you squish them with a paper towel, ugh ugh ugh).

Mark C, Monday, 28 April 2008 11:00 (eighteen years ago)

you should take up smoking. that gets rid of moths.

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 11:03 (eighteen years ago)

i'm feeling ambivalent about this song.

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 11:07 (eighteen years ago)

if you mean the one on my site, then i'm not surprised. if you mean the Will Smith one, then you are RONG.

Upt0eleven, Monday, 28 April 2008 11:08 (eighteen years ago)

no i mean the one on your site

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 11:10 (eighteen years ago)

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 11:10 (eighteen years ago)

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 11:15 (eighteen years ago)

ok that video was kind of awesome

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 11:16 (eighteen years ago)

fo' shiz. the band, My Device rather than the Iranians, are good pals of mine and deserve good successes.

Upt0eleven, Monday, 28 April 2008 11:24 (eighteen years ago)

So, to continue rambling nonsense in a completely futile effort to make it to 12000, I went to see the Scorsese/Rolling Stones film at the Imax on Saturday. My reactions were:

1. Imax is a big let-down. It's just a BIG screen with speakers in it. I did feel quite like I had just been to a Rolling Stones concert but I think that would have been the case at a standard cinema too.

2. I don't think Scorsese did anything that any other director couldn't have done. It's not like he had to actually direct anything during the concert, just set up a load of cameras in the right places, tell the cameramen to shoot everything and edit into something nice later. I think tv directors/vision mixers at concerts that are broadcast live have a much harder job and, on the whole, do it better.

3. I HATE this big band bollocks that seems to accompany acts like the stones when they play big venues. Too much brass, bells and whistles completely overwhelms the guitars and the result is revoltingly Jamie Cullum-esque.

Upt0eleven, Monday, 28 April 2008 11:45 (eighteen years ago)

okay i'm going to try at get to sleep at a reasonable hour, since i'm bored and have nothing better to do. i leave the next 767 posts in your capable hands.

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 11:47 (eighteen years ago)

night!

this morning is painful.

tehresa, Monday, 28 April 2008 12:14 (eighteen years ago)

There could be any number of reasons why, but why? Existentially, physically or emotionally? And can you make things better?

Mark C, Monday, 28 April 2008 13:50 (eighteen years ago)

Seattle on British Airways, from £369 return...

Mark C, Monday, 28 April 2008 14:36 (eighteen years ago)

That's cheapio. Do it.

Seattle is lovely. I was there for a fortnight a couple of years ago and would dearly love to go back but I think I have to go to Portland first.

Upt0eleven, Monday, 28 April 2008 14:52 (eighteen years ago)

Portland is excellent but I would say just fly into Seattle first, then take the train down to Portland for a bit (and similarly up to Vancouver). All three cities are great, but Portland is the least of the three in terms of immediate impact; as I tell folks, it's not so much a place people go and visit as it is a great place to live. Which it is -- I've any number of friends and family there and you can see why they're at where they're at.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 28 April 2008 15:01 (eighteen years ago)

Well that's me convinced. I have some really vivid memories of Seattle, especially of driving over the bridge to, I think, Mercer Island. It always reminded me of Grand Theft Auto for some reason.

Hope y'all don't mind if I self-indulgently share my Puget Sound picture:

Sorry it's big.

Upt0eleven, Monday, 28 April 2008 15:17 (eighteen years ago)

mark c and nick: poor, poor effort. i woke up to talk to jordan and i checked in here expecting to see at least a few hundred contributions to our 12000 goal!

i'm disappointed in you both ;_;

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 15:20 (eighteen years ago)

WE are disappointed in YOU

Upt0eleven, Monday, 28 April 2008 15:29 (eighteen years ago)

I'm not

Nick, maybe we should do a trip to Seattle together :)

Mark C, Monday, 28 April 2008 15:38 (eighteen years ago)

where is large picture of puget sound please?

lxy, Monday, 28 April 2008 15:46 (eighteen years ago)

hmm, apparently Mark is good cop, I am bad cop. Not sure why either of us need to be cops actually.

A trip up the West Coast from SF to Seattle (possibly Vancouver as well) is rather appealing.

Dunno why thee cannot see my Puget Sound pic. Can also be found here: http://eastcoastsound.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html

Upt0eleven, Monday, 28 April 2008 15:48 (eighteen years ago)

Wow you guys were chatty last night. I feel lazy now!

Sara R-C, Monday, 28 April 2008 15:50 (eighteen years ago)

btw, I DO NOT iron and WILL NOT iron. If something needs ironing, I don't buy it. I'd rather buy clothes that have to go to the dry cleaner.

Instead of moths or aphids, my house tends to attract boxelder bugs. It hasn't been bad at all lately - very few of them around - possibly because it is so cold STILL that it has snowed a bit every day for the past three days. And it might do so again today.

Sara R-C, Monday, 28 April 2008 15:56 (eighteen years ago)

Hi dere from the sitzprobe! Our lead soprano is fucking awesome

HI DERE, Monday, 28 April 2008 16:28 (eighteen years ago)

I don't know what a sitzprobe is, but hello!

Have I met that lead soprano...?

Sara R-C, Monday, 28 April 2008 16:32 (eighteen years ago)

No, not unless you've met c3l3st3 schr03d3r's sister-in-law.

HI DERE, Monday, 28 April 2008 16:39 (eighteen years ago)

God this whole cast is awesome

HI DERE, Monday, 28 April 2008 16:41 (eighteen years ago)

Nope, just wondered if it was J031!

It sounds like you are enjoying your day. I am trying to shepherd J through getting ready for school. It is kind of like herding cats.
