I have seen a few normal-looking people in croc flops lately which is distressing.

wilter, Monday, 28 April 2008 03:39 (eighteen years ago)

occasionally i wish i was a health care professional so i could wear pajamasscrubs and ugly but comfortable shoes to work every day.

tehresa, Monday, 28 April 2008 03:40 (eighteen years ago)

tza there are comfy stylish shoes out there! eccos aren't as bad as ppl make out, plus a lot of them look gay in pics but actually look way better on yr feet.

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 03:42 (eighteen years ago)

eccos have always seemed comfy but i've never found the right pair in stores. maybe i'll check online.

tehresa, Monday, 28 April 2008 03:54 (eighteen years ago)

I have hideous white nurse shoes that I wear to the hospital, along with white scrub pants that make my bottom half look huge. Our scrub tops are royal blue, though, and those are fine. All very comfortable.

There is no force on this earth that would get me to put crocs on my feet.

Someone just gave me a cute pair of eccos that were a bit too big for her...

Sara R-C, Monday, 28 April 2008 03:56 (eighteen years ago)

i've seen nurses wearing crocs before, which kinda baffles me. there are so many bodily fluids that could so easily splash/ooze/pour down onto your feet that you'd think you'd want to wear footwear that didn't have holes in it.

Lingbert, Monday, 28 April 2008 04:09 (eighteen years ago)

plus they are SLIPPERY. this huge preggo woman came in awhile ago wearing crocs and was all 'sell me some nonslip sandals plz' because she had fallen over three times in her crocs.

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 04:12 (eighteen years ago)

i think that zappos website has lots of eccos and free shipping xpost

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 04:13 (eighteen years ago)

omg slippery plus pregnant is how I wound up with broken bones. NOT GOOD.

I have never tried on crocs, but my best friend swears by them. I just cannot get past their hideousness myself. I think someone told me that they make special crocs without holes for health care providers, but I might have made that up in my head, I guess. NO MATTER TO ME, I CANNOT PUT THEM ON MY FEET. NO

Sara R-C, Monday, 28 April 2008 04:14 (eighteen years ago)

oh yikes, sara that sounds scary!

tehresa, Monday, 28 April 2008 04:15 (eighteen years ago)

Yes, crocs are scary no matter how you look at them. ;)

Sara R-C, Monday, 28 April 2008 04:20 (eighteen years ago)

The solution to all this is obvious -- detachable feet. Er.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 28 April 2008 04:37 (eighteen years ago)

We'll start with Ned's feet and go from there.

Sara R-C, Monday, 28 April 2008 04:52 (eighteen years ago)

Sara R-C, Monday, 28 April 2008 06:04 (eighteen years ago)

tehresa, Monday, 28 April 2008 07:56 (eighteen years ago)

Upt0eleven, Monday, 28 April 2008 08:31 (eighteen years ago)

insomnia sucks more. sorry 4 u :(

Upt0eleven, Monday, 28 April 2008 08:33 (eighteen years ago)

Morning Nick, morning sleepless American chums. What do we all think about the necessity or otherwise of ironing (in a non-formal context)?

Mark C, Monday, 28 April 2008 09:57 (eighteen years ago)

the last time i ironed something was probably more than 10 years ago

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:03 (eighteen years ago)

Haha! I don't do it very often but I actually get into a bit of a zen state if I have a lot to iron - by the third shirt my mind is free of worldly concerns. A|nd it's more productive than meditation.

Mark C, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:06 (eighteen years ago)

I find ironing to be a less objectionable task than I do many other chores. In fact I feel there to be an immediate, recognizable reward to ironing: "ZOMG this was all creasy and now is COMPLETELY free from crease!"

Today however, I am wearing a naturally crease-free shirt that doesn't require ironing. I don't entirely trust it.

Upt0eleven, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:12 (eighteen years ago)

OH SHIT i lied i used to iron an ex's shirts about 6 yrs ago cuz i am the best gf ever. except i could never do it right and there would still always be creases. but ya know, at least i TRIED.

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:16 (eighteen years ago)

hey drunky, the last i heard from you was POETRY IS GOOOOOOOOD or something. how was your hangover?

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:16 (eighteen years ago)

In the cold, sober light of morning I stand by that statement. The hangover was not too bad fanks, although I have a bit of a sniffle so my head is a bit foggy anyway.

Upt0eleven, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:19 (eighteen years ago)

the only solution is to drink more in order to kill those cold-causing bacteria.

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:21 (eighteen years ago)

I would like to add to the ironing discussion that I never really do "ironing", as in a whole lot at once, rather I iron as I need to. Well that was worth typing wasn't it.?

I also quite like topless ironing but that may be TMI

Upt0eleven, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:24 (eighteen years ago)

I'm tempted to start bringing in a hipflask. Apparently the mayor of London drinks whisky in meetings so if it's good enough for him...

Upt0eleven, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:26 (eighteen years ago)

topless ironing

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:28 (eighteen years ago)

right-o

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:28 (eighteen years ago)

it's like topless darts but, y'know, ironing.

Upt0eleven, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:29 (eighteen years ago)

oh now i totally understand

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:29 (eighteen years ago)

i think it would be a nice surprise for HI DERE and john justen to wake up and find this thread at 12,000 posts. really, it's our duty.

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:30 (eighteen years ago)

i know you guys have jobs and stuff, but really - sort your priorities out.

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:30 (eighteen years ago)

FYI: i'm going to make toast with MARMITE and also tea.

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:32 (eighteen years ago)

bottomless ironing is too dangerous however. xxxxxxxxxxxx-posts

yeah I have a job but i'm clearly more committed to this thread. 12000 posts is a lot though.

Upt0eleven, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:33 (eighteen years ago)

don't be a sissy

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:34 (eighteen years ago)

and it's not 12000: it's only 800 we need to come up to make it to 12000

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:35 (eighteen years ago)

800

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:44 (eighteen years ago)

Rubyredd, Monday, 28 April 2008 10:45 (eighteen years ago)
