SUCKERSES

El Tomboto, Thursday, 24 April 2008 18:52 (eighteen years ago)

(nb: kidding.)

El Tomboto, Thursday, 24 April 2008 18:52 (eighteen years ago)

yeah lenny's dad was groovy.

tehresa, Thursday, 24 April 2008 18:53 (eighteen years ago)

tombot plz do not email me about my internet usage as i may be forced to unceremoniously demote myself

John Justen, Thursday, 24 April 2008 18:55 (eighteen years ago)

my job is: leeching off the world's largesse, pretending to have a job. you cannot monitor that, oh no.

remy bean, Thursday, 24 April 2008 18:58 (eighteen years ago)

leeching off the world's largesse, pretending to have a job

piffle, you've never leeched until you've lived as comfortably as I did on the contract before this one

El Tomboto, Thursday, 24 April 2008 18:59 (eighteen years ago)

you want to talk about pretense

El Tomboto, Thursday, 24 April 2008 18:59 (eighteen years ago)

My kids show no sign of firing me although they probably should consider doing so.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:00 (eighteen years ago)

i claim first dibs on hiring Sara.

Upt0eleven, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:02 (eighteen years ago)

damn, beat me to it.
i probably couldn't pay well, though i would be understanding of the busy school schedule.

tehresa, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:02 (eighteen years ago)

me to really ancient guy @ coffeeshop seat next to me: "could you watch my laptop when i run to the bathroom?"
guy: "i'll guard it with my life, what little of it is left"

i go to bathroom, and return

me: thanks for watching.
guy: i had to beat the stuffing out of a few big guys, but it's safe.

remy bean, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:06 (eighteen years ago)

ha ha ha you guys I will tell my kids this next time they get mad at me. I COULD GO BE AN ILXOR'S MOM INSTEAD.

I would bake you all many batches of cookies. However, I refuse to vaccuum while wearing heels and pearls.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:07 (eighteen years ago)

hahaha one day maybe I can be that dude

El Tomboto, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:07 (eighteen years ago)

my mom never sends me cookies! but once she accidentally mailed me trash!
src, you're hired!

tehresa, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:08 (eighteen years ago)

COOOOOOOOOOOOOKIEEEEEES

Upt0eleven, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:09 (eighteen years ago)

Tom also apparently looking for something to do in his old age.

tehresa, you are hilarious. How did your mom accidentally mail you trash?!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:10 (eighteen years ago)

i offer a comprehensive employment package with benefits and plenty of room for personal and professional development.

i don't know what ANY of that means, but i bet i do.

Upt0eleven, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:10 (eighteen years ago)

hahaha one day maybe I can be that dude

-- El Tomboto, Thursday, April 24, 2008 7:07 PM (2 minutes ago)

the one wearing pearls and heels while vacuuming?

John Justen, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:11 (eighteen years ago)

cuz actually you can probably live out that dream if you really want to

John Justen, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:11 (eighteen years ago)

I think I own about six cookbooks devoted to cookies alone. I am a bit compulsive about desserts. (IMPORTANT NOTE: I usually do "soft/chewy" cookies as opposed to "crisp/crunchy" cookies.)

Sara R-C, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:12 (eighteen years ago)

If Tom vacuums while wearing pearls and heels, I INSIST that we have an ITR/WDYLL thread. That should be the first post.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:12 (eighteen years ago)

hey by the way when you never see me again it will be because my login has been "disappeared" by a shadowy hardman cabal

John Justen, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:13 (eighteen years ago)

shadowy hardman cabal would be a great next thread title

remy bean, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:13 (eighteen years ago)

stop trying to show me up, eleven!

sara, i had asked her to mail me a bunch of stuff since she's always asking me when i'm gonna get all my shit out of her house, and she ended up sending a whole bunch of crap i didn't ask for and none of the stuff i did. among the contents of the box: an old computer keyboard (instead of the piano-like keyboard i'd intended) and an empty contacts box.

tehresa, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:14 (eighteen years ago)

tehresa, I fear our mothers may have a lot in common...

Sara R-C, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:15 (eighteen years ago)

SHADOWY HARDMAN CABAL

remy bean, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:17 (eighteen years ago)

I'm quite compulsive about desserts myself. I'm definitely impressed with your approach to cookies.

*shuffles papers*
next interview question: What are your feelings regarding CAKE?

Upt0eleven, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:17 (eighteen years ago)

... although I like to think that mine would send me some of what I asked for at least. Really, my mother has always been more about throwing away my things without asking me about them. Also, one time I got home to find that she had taken away my one shelf of books and taken the sweaters out of my drawers and put them on the shelf the books had been on. The drawers were empty. When I complained, she said, "well, the books weren't in any order..." UH YES THEY WERE, IT IS CALLED ALPHABETICAL ORDER BY AUTHOR, MOM

Sara R-C, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:17 (eighteen years ago)

Ahem, okay, CAKE. Here is the thing about it: I can make cakes that taste very good, but I'm not much for making them look fancy. Also, I like those Cake Mix Doctor books - you fix a cake mix and doctor it up and somehow it turns out better than a scratch cake. Frosting always done from scratch, however, because you can't fake that.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:19 (eighteen years ago)

she also sent me shoes that were like, hers or my little sister's or something because they were 1.5 sizes to small, and a bunch of clothes that she asked me if i wanted and i'd told her no, she could give them to goodwill.

tehresa, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:19 (eighteen years ago)

I don't like to think about how many cake-related cookbooks are upstairs.

I should really learn how to cook actual food you guys.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:19 (eighteen years ago)

sara, we could team up on cakes. i have made some fancy ones in my day. i will have to find the fancy candied orange cake picture bc i'm afraid uptoeleven's gonna win you over.

tehresa, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:20 (eighteen years ago)

tehresa, are we related? Your mother isn't afraid of cats, is she?

Sara R-C, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:20 (eighteen years ago)

cake is really easy for me, but i don't know how to cook it except by weighting all the ingredients: i can't use standard measures at all, and i fuck up a lot when i try.

remy bean, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:20 (eighteen years ago)

Well, I could make cookies for both of you and nag you to STOP TALKING AND GO TO SLEEP. I just have to make you both hang out in the same general area.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:22 (eighteen years ago)

DUCT TAPE xxpost

John Justen, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:22 (eighteen years ago)

remy, that's right - you do the fancy wedding cakes!

We have a food scale, but I only used it during my nutrition class. Hmmmm. Maybe I should try that.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:22 (eighteen years ago)

hehe. how come my google reader is now recommending me a MN blog? do they know i am posting on this thread?!

tehresa, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:23 (eighteen years ago)

Fantastic cake answers all round. I don't trust fancy-looking cakes anyway. Those are the cakes that deceive. This is turning into a head-hunting....

Upt0eleven, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:24 (eighteen years ago)

Your computer knows you are fraternizing with Minnesotans, and apparently wants to encourage this behavior.

I don't know what to make of that.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 24 April 2008 19:24 (eighteen years ago)

"head-hunting" sounds faintly alarming
